Timeshifters Journey #2

Mark of the Serpent

Rate this book
Time is running out. Teen Jordan Booker makes another journey to a past so ancient it predates our fossil record. Only this time, he accidentally brings a stranger along for the ride. Not only does he have to collect artifacts to save the future Earth and avoid the Time Ranger who wants him dead, he must also watch over the clumsy tag-along who may be an enemy in disguise. Jordan befriends an elf-like family, a tribe of miniature furry humans, and is held captive in a steampunk city while trying to return to his little sister. If he doesn't make it back to the time capsule, humans will be the next extinct species. More fast-paced, creative sci-fi action from an author who knows how to give readers a thrill ride to the ancient past. This second Timeshifters novel is sure to please sci-fi fantasy readers of all ages.

I thoroughly enjoyed Cara Brookins's Timeshifters Journey sci-fi trilogy MARK OF THE CENTIPEDE, MARK OF THE SERPENT, and MARK OF THE SPIDER. She has taken the time travel concept and spun it in a very novel fashion and created a diverse set of unforgettable characters, most of whom I fondly miss. Unlike some trilogies that start with a bang and fall off, her story starts well and continues to move the journey forward in unexpected ways. She sprinkles in a touch of ironic and lighthearted humor that for me made the read all the enjoyable.
I hope to see the series continue. Read it and join the journey.

Finally the second in the series and it was worth the wait!

I just finished Jordan's second adventure/survival in a world of the distant past which is just as surprising and does not disappoint. With twists and spirals unexpected, his time and confrontations with Namor the time traveler is an experience not just something to read. Life lessons to be had for young and old!!

I hope you enjoy as much as I have.... Looking forward to the Mark of the Spider next year.
