《人間失格》字面意思即失去做為人的資格,這是太宰治生平最後的一部作品,也是他最重要的作品。全書由作者的序言、後記,以及主角大庭葉藏的三個手札組成,描寫主角從青少年到中年,為了逃避現實而不斷沉淪,經歷自我放逐、酗酒、自殺、用藥物麻痺自己,終於一步步走向自我毀滅的悲劇,在自我的否定的過程,同時也抒發自己內心深處的苦悶,以及渴望被愛的情愫……

透過主角葉藏的人生遭遇,太宰治可說巧妙地將自己的一生與思想表達出來,因此也可算是他半自傳性作品,並且藉此提出身為人最真切的痛苦問題,從滯澀的文中更可體會其內心深切的苦楚,在完成本篇作品之後,太宰治終歸還是選擇了投水的方式,為自己劃下最後的句點。

A number of his most popular works, such as Shayō (The Setting Sun) and Ningen Shikkaku (No Longer Human), are considered modern-day classics in Japan.
With a semi-autobiographical style and transparency into his personal life, Dazai’s stories have intrigued the minds of many readers. His books also bring about awareness to a number of important topics such as human nature, mental illness, social relationships, and postwar Japan.

「我從未見過長相如此詭異的男子。」

太宰治帶著憂鬱的氣質,慢寫自己的人生。

一直堅信,能夠取走自己生命的人一定有著驚人的勇氣。然而太宰治五次自殺-不知是哪裡的力量。或許是因為貴族沒落,也許是因為從小於世界格格不入 才會讓他如此渴望逃脫;也許與其說他失去生活在世上做人的資格,不如說這樣的世界還沒有擁有他這個美麗又孤獨靈魂的資格。


「膽小鬼連幸福都害怕,碰到棉花都會受傷。」

不知道這一句說破多少像我一樣怯懦的人心。生為如此大概只能是自己的錯。


「生而為人-對不起。」

還是只能用這老套俗氣的一句話概括太宰治的一切。
