This book was about a dad who has to face his brother in a football competition .
I loved this book because it was about football. I love how they other kids call Becky (Icebox). One of my most favorite parts in this book is how Tad met John Madden. I learned that the Raiders were the L.A Raiders back in the day before becoming the Oakland Raiders.
This book was well written about underdogs and how you should never 2nd guess a team or anything.
As a kid I watched this movie and loved it. Reading the book as an adult to my elementary school aged child was just as fun, before he watched the movie. He laughed out loud several times, and got the central theme that everyone should be able to play the game - whether a nerd, overweight, or a girl.
Being written in the 90's, there's obviously some things said in the book that most people would find controversial today, instead of complaining about it or glossing over it, we used it as a learning opportunity.
This is a very short and easy-to-read book, but it's hilarious just the same. The Little Giants is about two football teams - one talented, one not so talented, but both eager to win. The Cowboys are the best atheletes in town, coached by the famous Kevin O'Shea. The Little Giants team is made up of kids who never get picked for anything but nevertheless believe in themselves. They're coached by Danny O'Shea, who ran the class projector in high school while his brother Kevin was a football star. Things are looking bad for the Little Giants, especially when their best player decides she'd rather be a cheerleader. Which team will win the big game on Saturday? Read the book to find out.
