Spend the holidays in Winterspell and solve a Christmas caper with your favorite grumpy familiar!
Part soap opera and part mission impawsible, book 10 is a great addition to the series. Love the store names in Winterspell and the Bewitched Bebops was a cool band name too. That was nice of
The author continues this series with another great book! the mystery was difficult to solve until the answer was revealed. It was an enjoyable read with great characters. The best character is the extremely sarcastic and demanding feline familiar, Selene!

💖 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ 📚 Genre: Cozy mystery, urban fantasy
💕 Positives: * I love that it's a cozy mystery without a murder yet still interesting. The writing style is pretty creative.
* Glad that there is finally a new cop in the book.
* The ending was heartwarming.
🚫 Negatives: * Cora is such a stick in the mud. I forgot how much I don't like her until picking up this series again.
⚡Content Warning: None
🌟 Overall, this was a cute cozy mystery set durring Christmas time. I don't enjoy this series as much as the author's other series though. Her Sugar Shack and Magical Inn series were both great, but this one falls short with the main character and her fiancé. The mystery of the Christmas market being destroyed was still nicely set up and there were plenty of red herrings. The ending was heartwarming and sweet. This is a pretty good cozy mystery for Christmas. 🖤
It’s Christmas time and Selene has the blues. In her case, that means ramping up the snark levels. Refused a stall at the annual Christmas Market, even Cora offering to share hers doesn’t make a dent in her grumbles. When vandalism tears up the market after it closes, the somewhat persnickety manager of the market goes ballistic. A new mystery perks up Selene and Cora, relieved she doesn’t have to man a stall after all. With family and friends in tow, Cora and Selene can’t believe someone in Winterspell would be such a Grinch. But she will not stop until the Christmas Spirit is alive and well again in Winterspell and Selene. Great Christmas read from Danielle in a series that I hope continues. I’m taking notes from Selene on snark!
Selene is next level with her snark and her behavior as she is lacking her Christmas spirit. Cora is trying her best not to let her familiar get to her. Cora hears news that the booths at the Christmas market have been vandalized including hers. Cora decides to find out who did it with the help of Selene.
It was a fun read. You can always count on Selene to be the snarkiest familiar out there. Cora balances it out with her more levelheaded thoughts, trying to her familiar out of trouble. You will enjoy the world and characters this author has created. Once you start reading, you will just fall into the story.
Christmas time in Winterspell where the magic of Christmas is not limited to a month. The spirit of the town and it's residents make it that much brighter. Or is this year a season of change, and is change welcomed by all? The town is going thru a growth in visitors and traffic, but, the towns businesses are thriving. The yearly Christmas winter wonderland town square market starts off with a bang. The mystery that Selene and Cora need to figure is, who is the towns Grinch and how can they put all back as it should be? A wonderful hot minty chocolaty Christmas story.
It’s Christmas time in Winterspell and it’s time for the annual Christmas Fair. Everyone’s excited and setting up their stalls to sell their handcrafts. Selena is pretty upset because she wasn’t granted her request for a stall to sell her wares. Cora has offered to let her share her space but Selene’s not willing. Everything seems to be set for the fair but then things start to happen like damage to their stalls and their wares. Can Cora and Selene figure out who’s responsible in time for all to enjoy the Christmas season…
The Christmas season is upon them and Cora is setting up for the winter market. Her mom was supposed to help but got pulled away last minute. When the market is trashed and her stock stolen, Cora pulls out. Selene sets out to find the culprit after its implied it could be her. After many blunders and a break-in, finding the culprit is more complicated than they thought.
I love Selene and Cora so its always fun to be back with them. A great Christmasy story.
There are many scrooges and maybe a grinch. The relationship between Cora and Selene continues to define itself as the series goes on. Selene is her usual snarky self. I just love it when she's rolling on the floor laughing at Aunt Lavender's Christmas misunderstanding! Hard not to laugh with her. Looking forward to the next book to see what chaos Selene causes next.
This one has been my favorite of the series. This was a less high stakes mystery, but the "who-dun-it" was a big plot twist I didn't see coming. This one brought more of the cozy town found family feeling with how they came together with the Christmas market. Talking about other town traditions really makes you settle into the town.
The cozy Christmas vibes with the magic enchantments were everything.
Well, CHRISTMAS is going to be a time of mystery and chaos. Selene is really grumpy and has no Christmas spirit. Cora has a secret admire and it is a little creepy. So, is Selene going to solve what is going on in Winter Spell? The artist market is not going the way people want it too, but what has happened to get the people to find the one who is destroying things. Will Christmas be happy or sad? Lovee the author and narrator.
This book is simply a celebration of Christmas traditions, as displayed in the already quaint magical town of Winterspell. The Christmas market is vandalized the night of its opening day, with booths destroyed and thousands of dollars’ worth of festive merchandise stolen. The culprit is discovered by Selene, Cora’s talking cat familiar, and the person confesses and is forgiven in the spirit of Christmas. A charming if not too challenging story.
I love Selene, but I would not want her as my familiar! Too snarky and high-maintenance, LOL. But reading about her is fun! So. Much. Fun! The Christmas market has been vandalized and goods have been stolen, and it’s up to Cora and Selene to solve the case! Great book, the writing style ensured I was fully immersed in the story.
Selene is her rude, snarky self…especially when she feels slighted by being blamed for the destruction and thefts of the winter market. This puts her into to sleuth mode and she has to make sure Cora knows it definitely wasn’t her. Of course, this all just leads to the humor in the book, and I absolutely loved it!
Its Christmas in Winterspell. Of course Selene and Cora have to be up to something. The Christmas market gets vandalized and all the Christmas tree farms are in trouble. Can Cora and Selene solve the mystery again as to who is behind all the problems? A mystery for sure
Very enjoyable and humorous that I found myself laughing out loud many times. Selene is such a mess! But she's still my favorite character in the series. I enjoyed the Christmas storyline. This is a wonderful series and I look forward to the next book.
This was a cute Christmas themed story. Selene got herself in lots of trouble. She keeps both Cora, Clint and everyone else in their quaint little magic town on their toes. Met more of the towns people. Shared in their holiday traditions and had a couple of mysteries to solve. overall a fun read. Kathy
Magic and mayhem at the Christmas market cause the season to seem more like Grinchville. No worries Selene is ready to investigate the situation and Cora will join in if only to try to keep Selene in line.
Take a little time to enjoy a holiday filled with magic.
Obviously, I still like the series enough to keep going. I would love to see more than a sliver of character development in Celine. After ten books she’s still a bitch, pardon my French. She’s so antagonizing, it’s painful to listen to. Maybe I’m too much of a cat person to really appreciate the truly horrible personality of this familiar.
My only complaint: very small complaint, but it is something that doesn’t make sense.
They celebrated Christmas, no mention of Yule. Witches would celebrate Yule or at least mix Yule in with Christmas. The characters will say when the are upset “for the love of the Goddess” etc, they would at least acknowledge Yule.
Danielle did an excellent job on this book. The characters are great and the plot is excellent. There is a robber in the Christmas market. If you want to find out what happens in the Christmas market, then I highly recommend you get the book that is out today.
And as usual around holiday time things go awry. Even in a magical community. Hurt feelings from more than one party lead to chaos as the day approaches. Come join the fun!
Another great story with Selene! My favorite cat, and I read a lot of cat cozy mysteries. Thank you for always well written and engaging books. I look forward to the next book
Cute Christmas story. Saline needs a short leash. That cat is a real pickle. Always up to something. Christmas reminders throughout to remind us if the beauty of Christmas. Good read.
I love the characters in this series. Selene is a hoot. I always look forward to reading the next book in the series. Time well spent, reading Danielle's books.
I really enjoyed reading this magical mystery. I liked how Cora & her familiar, Serene helped to solve this Christmas mystery. I recommend this book to anyone who loves Christmas or a magical mystery.
