When Andy's longtime Master Cliff gets fed up with Andy's frequent failings, Andy is informed that he is being sent to Training. Cliff takes great pleasure in telling Andy that Ezra, owner of the Wolves, uses a heavy hand when he works with pups.
What truly terrifies Andy though, is Ezra's partner, The Lion, a trainer whose reputation precedes him in the world of dog shows. Andy desperately wants to be a Good pup and to be allowed to spend time with his best friend, Titus. But how can he convince his temporary Masters of this, when he keeps on being Bad?
Puppy's Training Trouble is 55k and has a 4 dove rating for noncon, dubcon, bestiality, mentions of past underage SA, heavy whump, puppy play, restrictive bondage gear, threesome, and a master/pet dynamic. Happy ending guaranteed.
🌻Reread March 2025🌻 - Literally don’t ask me how this turned into a comfort read I also don’t know that’s just the Dove affect I suppose
Alright so what have we learned? ✨Bestiality makes me violently uncomfortable✨ That being said I’m not going to knock off stars because I found a kink to be an ick for me personally because it’s not like I didn’t go into this eyes wide open. Looking past the dog action I actually found this to be very sweet. D. Dove is a favorite of mine and they do such a fantastic job of scratching the particular itch of having two big men swoon over their traumatized boy through lots of gentle loving. Andy was just the sweetest little pup and Leo and Ezra were so good with him once they realized the abuse he had been through. Titus the ever loyal dog was also…around and very eager to love on Andy as well which was definitely not my favorite thing but honestly the scenes were not all that common and I found the emphasis was far more on mental healing for Andy rather than a big fat trip to bone town (though they did get there eventually of course). All that to say I found this palatable because I’m a sucker for puppy play and how well Andy’s abuse was handled but full on dog dick is not something I will be readily reaching for in the future, I think I’ll be sticking to werewolves to get that fix
I've loved this book so much and it was a surprise. I though it'll be a filthy, taboo and fun story, but oh my god. It fucking destroyed me, it broke my heart to pieces the way sweet baby Andy was treated before Leo and Ezra.
I couldn't stop reading. It made me cry, laugh, smile with tears in my eyes and fucking scream in silence each time Andy thought he was a bad pup and he will be punished in horrible ways. And it melt my heart seeing Leo and Ezra treating him so carefully, so good and so patiently. They were what he deserved and I'm so glad they found each other.
I enjoyed and suffered so much and I wasn't expecting that level of emotion at all, so it was a great read.

Say what you want about me but I actually enjoyed this and I don't care how that makes me sound. Okay, I care a little bit but I digress. But this was cute and I learned I like whomp. D Dove has officially become a "who knew I would be into this" author.
Yes, it's an extreme taboo but content aside it's a well-written romance with a really cute ending and an adorable thruple. Outside of the abuse and dog "stuff", the puppy play aspect was one of the more accurate depictions of puppy play I've ever read. I think a lot of kink is written for people who don't know anything about kink and don't understand that things can get pretty extreme while still being really loving and consensual. I don't completely know how to explain it but that aspect was done really well here.
Look, if you can handle the first dog story, you'll definitely be able to handle this one. There is a full and complete HEA and it is really sweet once Cliff is out of the picture. I really wanted to see Leo pound him into the ground but I guess we can't always get what we want. Five stars because I'm a freak. There's no going back from this.
I can't believe how good it was, honestly I didn't expect to be this good. Leo and Ezra were so patient, and my poor Andy deserved to be happy after all the shit he went through.
