Maria Coffey has the gift of taking you away with her on this extraordinary journey. She and Dag embarked on their journey with the fold up kayak packed in red bags. I loved the fact that she's mapped out her journey along the way starting in the Solomon islands in the South Pacific. They were exposed to so much that could potentially harm their health particularly the floating bodies in the Ganges.
I was disappointed that she missed the narrative on their journey in Australia.
How fitting it was that they kayaked across Georgia strait home.
Over all this was a great read and I was disappointed when it was over.
I absolutely loved this book. I thought that I didn't like travel writing particularly but this was really easy to read with a fascinating story and such a likeable narrator in Maria Coffey, that she is now one of my heroes. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
This is my favorite book and has been a major inspiration in my life to travel. I have read this book about 4 times and am looking forward to reading t again.
