Growing up as an obese child in the 90s in India, I was always taken to 'dietitians' who would fat shame me, a child, for having 'no will power' and one of them even called my mother 'shameless' for letting her child eat bad things in large quantities. Most of them imposed their religious/cultural beliefs upon me, calling non-vegetarian food as 'bad' and making me consume copious amounts of dairy and wheat(without even analyzing and knowing that I am dairy intolerant). When told of my symptoms, I was called 'excuse maker' or 'attention seeker' As a result, my digestive system got fuc*ed up and my childhood traumatized.
According to Marisa Peer, 98% of diets fail and that's actually true. Dietitians/Nutritionists tell you what to eat and what not to eat(naughty foods), but NEVER TELL YOU HOW! In addition to this, 'famous dietitians' in India have an elite clientele that has maid/manservants in waiting, that make sure that 'baby'/'baba'/'Sir'/'Madam' get their healthy food shoved down their throats. It's just not doable for most everyday people.
This book is NOT a Diet book at all. This is a psychology book that is written in a hypnotic way. This helps you:
1) Go to the root cause of wrong eating patterns(viewing food as love/pampering, being big to feel significant, incidences growing up those incorrectly wired individuals to not eat as they were intended to, etc.). This is called 'regression'.
2) Change your beliefs about yourself/food and your relationship with food. Your a** is not the size of a barn, you are not starving or famished, a happy meal does not make an unhappy person happy, you don't eat 24*7, etc.
3) Creative visualization to think, feel and eat like a thin person
4) Changing the emotional connection/dependency on unhealthy foods.
5) The NEW YOU eats as infants do. Only eat enough and when you are really hungry.
6) Hypnotherapy audio to listen to for at least '21 days' to rewire your brain to eat your way to health and a lean you for life.
Sounds fabulous, but does it work? Yup, it did on me during 2017-2018. I reduced 25 kgs/55 lbs. Unfortunately, I stopped using this book+audio and it went down in a spiral for me.
Now, I've read this a second time and I'm already off sugar and midnight dessert.
This time, I'll treat this book like I treat my Bible. This MUST BE USED FOR LIFE, else it is easy to be rewired to eat like crazy again because we're surrounded by ideas/brainwashing about food that fill-up marketers', restaurants' and food companies' bank accounts, while slowly but surely digging our graves!
