The Little Shepherd

Rate this book
This sweet retelling of the Parable of the Good Shepherd uses hide-and-seek imagery through a child's eyes. One child holding a stuffed lamb hides, while another child patiently seeks, all day, over and around, up and down. The simple text conveys the message that each of us is worthy of God's love; each of us is worthy of being found. By using children as both shepherd and lamb, there's also the implicit message that we must care for each other as God cares for us. The depth of God's love for them will make little readers feel special―a wonderful way to boost self-esteem as well. In addition, the endearing photos invite kids to participate actively by pointing out where the little lamb is hiding in each scene. For all Christian denominations, children ages 0 to 5. †
