Rate this book
Maxi the taxi dog and his partner Jim, first introduced in The Adventures of Taxi Dog, once again make a virtuoso appearance in Mark Buehner's brilliant and joyous paintings depicting the warm and affectionate relationship between two best friends. This was a fantastic story with amazing illustrations! I was able to easily expand on what we were reading just by talking about what was going on in the pictures. This was an exciting adventure that left my toddlers & I wanting more Maxi!! I would check this out again.

This is another great book that teaches children courage and how to be brave. Maxi rides along in the taxi with his driver and when they encounter a thief, Maxi comes to the rescue and hunts him down and is regarded as the hero.

Reading Level- Transitional
Curricular Uses- Read Aloud
Social Issues- Talks about bravery and courage. Also encourages children to do the right thing just as Maxi did. Identifies that stealing is wrong as well.

Why does Moira always love the rhyming books? It's not so bed when it's done well, bit this is a little forced. It's easy to memorize though, so at least I don't have to pay attention when I'm reading it to her. This is one of the first books we ever read her, before we had many board books, when she was a few months old. We changed Maxi (the dog) to Stewie and Jim (Maxi's owner) to Moira and she loved it.
