The prime-time soap opera, “Melrose Place” ran on FOX TV from July 8, 1992 to May 24, 1999 for seven seasons. This book was copyrighted in 1992, so it came out during the first season. I bought a used copy of this book to read as I enjoyed watching the show on DVDs. The show became very popular when it first ran on the air. It was about a group of young people living in a southern California apartment complex called “Melrose Place.” The first season was very tame, compared to the outrageous over-the-top storylines that take place in later seasons. Always, however, there is a lot of conflict and drama, backstabbing and love triangles, and even murders! The show would go on to address such issues as homosexuality, AIDS, racism, rape, domestic abuse, drug abuse, adoption, alcoholism, mental health issues, career pressures, and money issues.

The show was still quite innocent in the beginning compared to what was in the cards for later down the line, and I enjoyed reading this book about several of the main characters from the first season. This little paperback book provides for some interesting insider information about the actors and other tidbits about the TV program.

I highly recommend it to people who enjoyed watching the show during its first run on television or like me, enjoyed watching it decades later on DVDs.
