The Drake Chronicles has been one of my all time favorite series. It's filled with laughter, excitement, kickass female protags and swoon-worthy undead boys that will steal your heart faster then you can say vampire.
They will all truly be missed.

Since Blood Prophecy is the last book, I don't want to spoil fans and give away to much, but I will say that I love how Harvey handed this final masterpiece. It was good to see a lot of the pieces fall into place, especially considering Solange's character since she was a pretty big question mark for a few books now. I knew that she was changing, but I couldn't shake how wrong her character felt. I don't know about you, but it always felt very off and unsettling to see Solange act the way she did. So it was a huge relief to finally understand the why's when the revelations started to unravel for her. What a brilliant move played by Harvey. I never expected any of it. It was also pretty cool leaning all the twist and turns for the other mysterious and events that took place and witnessing how much depth and fierceness these characters have when working side by side as a team, a friend and as a family.
The story line is a whirlwind of excitement and suspense. I think this installment was the most intriguing and action packed compared to the other books. It felt like something was always happening but in a way that was passionate and persistent instead of overwhelming or overloaded. It was carefully constructed, beautifully done and completely satisfying.

I absolutely love Harvey's writing! She has this incredible zing with how she handles her characters. This book was mostly told through Solange and Lucy's POV but we do get some of the other characters which was really nice since this is the last book and it was great to be inside their heads again. I also love that even though this was mostly filled with fast paced action, Harvey still manages to slow things down long enough to throw in some sigh-worthy romance. My favorite couple has always been and will always be Lucy and Nick. These two are the epitome of cuteness. I love the way they look out for each other, I love their banter and I love their wit. And even though it's just an idea, I hope that Harvey makes a Lucky and Nick spin-off, that would make me the happiest reader evah!

All in all, I couldn't love a book and series more. Harvey gave us everything we could ever hope for in this final conclusion. So even though I'm sad to see this end, I'm ready to let them go. I've had so much fun with Solange, Lucy, Kieran, the Drake boys and the women who won their hearts. They will be terribly missed.
Being a forever fan of Alyxandra Harvey, I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

I went into this knowing I’d have a hard time saying goodbye to the Drakes (and Hamiltons), but fairly optimistic about the whole thing anyway. After all, this series is a favorite of mine, a guilty pleasure, if you will, since it’s not exactly what one might call a quality read, but it’s cute and fun nevertheless. Not even in my wildest dreams had I considered that I might end up struggling through it, forcing myself not to put it down, or after that battle was lost, bribing myself to pick it up again. But that pretty much describes my state of mind through the first 30% of Blood Prophecy. It was tedious, unnecessarily complicated and boring.

However, right around the 30% mark, it was as if someone flipped a switch and I got to reunite with all the characters as I remembered them. Things got better fast, and they stayed that way until the very end. It still wasn’t a quality read but I didn’t care much, just like I didn’t care with the first five books.

Heroes didn’t get a say in this one, the burden of storytelling fell entirely to our heroines. Most of the chapters were told from Lucy’s and Solange’s points of view, but there were some from Hunter’s, Isabeau’s and Christabel’s as well. Since the Drakes & Co. were being attacked from all sides, each of them had quite a story to tell.

”Anyone else think evil should take a vacation so we can catch a nap?”

Most of the plot was centered around Solange, of course. It’s been so long since I actually enjoyed reading about her that it took a while for me to remember the real Solange – fierce, loyal and maybe a bit shy. When it became clear why I didn’t like her in any of the last four books, I had to conclude that Alyxandra Harvey is a bit brilliant, even when she’s writing fluff. I always write my reviews spoiler-free so I can’t really go into detail, but I look forward to discussing Solange with other Drake Chronicles fans after they finish the book.

The Drake Chronicles are, in fact, fluff, but that doesn’t mean I liked them any less. Quite the contrary, in fact. Having a feel-good series I can always go back to is strangely comforting. And if I could choose a best friend from any of the characters I’ve been reading about in the last few years, I would choose Lucy Hamilton in a heartbeat. Well, unless we’re talking friends with benefits, in which case my choice would probably be more dark and brooding. But I digress…

There will be more e-novellas featuring the Drakes and there’s been some talk about a spin-off, but that’s still unconfirmed. Either way, knowing this isn’t the last we’ll see of Lucy, Nicholas, Hunter, Quinn and others makes saying goodbye somewhat easier.

Oh, man. How is it I love basically every single character in this whole series?

Lucy and Nicholas, I've gone on about in all of my reviews. You should read these books for their relationship alone. But I also like Solange and Kieran, and Quinn and Hunter, and Logan and Isabeau, and Christabel and Connor. All of these characters' personalities feel insanely real to me in a way I can scarcely credit - a way that I will never stop marvelling at, even though after nearly twenty years of reading I should be used to the way books come alive by now.

At over 100,000 words, this one is also a good 30-40k words longer than all the other books. Still wasn't long enough. I wish there'd been a longer epilogue; it doesn't feel like goodbye. I hope Harvey revisits these characters soon, because I have so many unanswered questions.

I've followed The Drake Chronicles ever since the first book and I still can't believe it's 3 years later and I've just read the last book. No more Drakes, no more swoon-worthy quotes and no more deadly situations for them. It's a sad time!

Blood Prophecy brings us the conclusion to the Drake story and with Solange being crowned Queen of the Vampires, it's sure does bring a dangerous, exciting and engaging time. Solange has been taken over by Viola and with Viola being stronger than her, Solange has no choice but to battle it out with her. However, Solange has to take this journey all on her own...but who will come through stronger.

The Drake Series has been one of my favourite series of all time and I'm so pleased that I enjoyed Blood Prophecy. I thought for a series finale it was concluded very well because the story in whole just came together so well. As I was reading, I was doing a little tick to make sure everything I was unsure about all came together and because the author's writing is so spot on plus her ability to weave each characters story all together, everything falls into place so well. Alyxandra never fails to amaze me. I've never been unhappy with this series and it's one that will stay with me for a long time.

The characters also never fail to disappoint me. Lucy, Solange, Kieran and Nicholas, I really love them. They all deserved the best ending they could have gotten and while I really would have liked an epilogue, I still felt it was a good ending for them. Lucy will always remain my favourite. She's fun and so quirky. She has so many humours quote that I couldn't help laugh, like this;

“The Drake farmhouse was like the chimpanzee enclosure at the zoo when feeding time was late. You know, if all the chimpanzees were undead. And insane.” - Lucy

And Nicholas will always be my favourite boy! I love his relationship with Lucy - how he's so willing to protect her no matter. He will do anything to keep her safe..I love it! I really do wonder how their relationship will play out in the future. So I say this, PLEASE ALYX, WRITE A EPILOGUE NOVELLA!! ;) I still have to wonder why she decided to end it where she did because I believe there's still so much more that could come from this series, but least the series went out with a bang and on such a high.

All in all, Blood Prophecy provided a great ending to a fantastic series and it's a series that I'm sad to leave behind. It's full of 100% entertainment, laugh out loud and quirky moments, hot brothers and swoon-worthy quotes. It's definitely not a series you want to miss out on.

Ein wirklich würdiger Abschluss von dieser Reihe! Die Charaktere waren toll, es gab jede Menge Action und ja... Mir hat so ein wenig die Liebesgeschichte gefehlt in der Art, dass man da sitzt und sich denkt "OH MEIN GOTT, ICH LIEBE EUCH, LOS LIEBT EUCH GEGENSEITIG!!! DER KUSS, WO BLEIBT DER KUSS?".
Und ich muss auch sagen, dass das Buch einen wirklich seltsamen Spannungsbogen hatte, weil es sich nach 70% etwa abgeschlossen anfühlte, dann aber nochmal ein Twist kam und ein anderer Handlungsstrang erzählt worden ist. Andererseits war das auch ein super Abschluss für die Reihe und ich bin echt total zufrieden mit Allem ♥

Und was mache ich jetzt?! Natürlich den ersten Teil rereaden... Lucky und Nicky sind noch immer die GEILSTEN xD

I truly enjoyed this book. I think the only thing that would have made it better is if I hadn’t started with the last book in the series and could have related more to the characters. The Drakes were wonderful and I loved all the different types of vampires in the story. Solange was the coolest. A prophecy is told that is all about her and how she will be queen who is possessed. Instead of rolling over and letting her body be controlled by someone else who wants to harm both vampires and humans she fights back. She would do anything to save those whom she loves, even if it means she may not make it. She knows her family needs her to take back control before Viola, the vampire possessing her, ruins every treaty between the different vampire branches and also between vampires and humans. Unfortunately someone has it out for vampires and has been framing them for attacking humans. While Solange is busy fighting her possession, it is up to her family and her best friend Lucy to keep themselves and others alive.

I really liked the fact that the story was told from different viewpoints. This helped flesh out the story a lot and also is what helped me get to know the characters better than if it had all been one point of view. Also you got to see what was happening to different characters all in the same time frame. Since this was the first story I have read of this series there were a lot of characters to get to know and I think the fact that I got to see them interact from different people’s viewpoints helped me to understand and like the characters more.

I was rooting for Solange to beat out the vampire possessing her and at the same time I felt sort of sorry for the vampire who was controlling her. She just wanted to be with the one she loved but because of centuries of being denied and the way her life had once been she had started to lose it. Alyxandra Harvey has a way of writing that makes you feel almost the way her characters do and be able to sympathize. I also loved how the characters were so different and unique. You have Solange the quiet, artistic vampire queen; then you have her human best friend Lucy, who is loud and has no problem kicking butt; third there is their boyfriends Kieran the vampire hunter who fell in love with a vampire and Nicholas, one of Solange’s older brothers who to me at least seemed quiet and sweet, yet tough. These are just some of the wonderful characters we meet in Alyxandra Harvey’s wonderful book Blood Prophecy.

I enjoyed this book so much I will now have to go back to the beginning and read the whole series. I recommend this book to vampire lovers. Also for those who are bored with vampires that sparkle in the sun this is a good one. There are different types of vampires but none that look like diamonds. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the Twilight series. I’m just saying you do not have to like the Twilight series to enjoy this series.

Viola went cold and brittle inside. She might not have been able to save her mother but she could save Tristan.

The Drakes (and Lucy, Kieran, Hunter, & Co.) are back in the final installment of The Drake Chronicles. Viola has now fully possessed Solange and is attempting reign as Queen, with Constantine by her side. The real Solange is trapped in Viola’s consciousness, unable to stop Viola from wreaking havoc and causing absolute destruction in the real world. Lucy appears to be the only person aware of Solange’s possession and is desperately trying to save her, while also dealing with a distant Nicholas, who hasn’t quite recovered from being tortured. Meanwhile, a completely separate threat is brewing, one that will pit everyone against each other: vampires, Helios-Ra, Huntsmen, the Hounds, Hel-Blar, and humans. In this explosive end to the series, no one is safe.
Blood Prophecy is long and, as such, it has a lot going on. I love the Drakes and Alyxandra Harvey, but Blood Prophecy is kind of a hot mess. But even so, it still manages to give me a warm, fuzzy feeling. This book focuses heavily on Solange and Lucy. We get a bit of Kieran, Nicholas, and Hunter, but nothing noteworthy, unfortunately. While I miss the guys, I guess I can’t really complain. Solange is smack-dab in the middle of everything, so we need her point of view, and Lucy is just kick-ass and, despite being human, probably the fiercest character in the entire series.
Blood Prophecy is much more plot-heavy than it’s predecessors. This makes sense, as we’ve already gotten to know all the characters, and the plots are original and engaging. Except, perhaps, the ending twist. It feel a little rushed and forced, and the story probably could have done without it, though then we’d left without the epic battle/blood-bath that I suspect Harvey’s been building up to for quite some time. I know I’ve been waiting for this battle since the very beginning; we finally get to see the Drakes’ medieval training put to use. And we get to see Lucy and the rest of the Helios-Ra gang kick some major ass, proving that humans are just as strong as vamps.
The final book in the Drake series has significantly less romance. Not that there isn’t any — there is — and not that I need a ton of romance in a book in order to be happy. I think the problem here is that romance plays such a big part in the first five books that I’ve come to expect it and now that there’s less of it…I’m left wanting. Especially when it comes to Hunter and Quinn. I’m really, really disappointed in how little we see of my favorite couple in Blood Prophecies, especially given that this is the conclusion. But I know this series revolves around Solange and Lucy, so I suppose I don’t really have a right to throw a hissy-fit.
The action in Blood Prophecies is completely nonstop. The chapters are a little too short and jump around a little too much for me this time around, which creates a somewhat jarring effect. But there’s certainly never a dull moment. Unfortunately, Blood Prophecies is probably my least favorite book in the series, if only because I miss getting to know new characters and watching an amazing relationship develop. It’s still a great ending, though, and the last chapter makes me want to hug the book to my chest and never let go. It’s just amazing and a perfect way to wrap things up. Plus, while I think this book focuses a lot less on character development, I’m happy to see that at least Solange significantly grows up and comes into her own. She’s no longer the meek, shy girl we were introduced to in Hearts at Stake. She’s finally the girl Lucy always warned us existed underneath Solange’s quiet exterior. And that’s the sort of growth in a main character that I, as a reader, live for. Also, this book has — hands down — the best cover art of the entire series. If you haven’t already picked up this series, you are wasting your life. This is the best, funniest, and most satisfying vampire series currently in YA.

Blood Prophecy is the 6th and final installment in Alyxandra Harvey's exhilarating Drake Chronicles and an exciting mix of romance, action and endless danger!

Honestly, this series has been such a joy to read! From start to finish, Alyxandra Harvey has enticed me into her world of vampires and vampire hunters, where love and friendship mingle with mystery, betrayal and more excitement than you'll know what to do with! No matter what people say about vampires being done and dusted (no pun intended), that in no way has any baring on this fun, witty, perfectly written series that I've just simply adored reading!

Featuring the Drake family as well as a vast array of other fantastic and memorable characters such as Lucy, Hunter, Kieran, Isabeau and endless others, the Drake Chronicles has showcased storyline after storyline that is exciting and fun to read about, with Blood Prophecy being no exception.

Our two main characters throughout the series, vampire princess Solange and her human best friend Lucy are back in this book and face some of their toughest trials yet as they attempt to protect the ones they love while struggling to save Solange from her possession by the mysterious and powerful Viola. Not to mention later they must band together with all they love to prevent an all out war between the different vampire tribes and hunters.

Picking up after the shocking conclusion of the last book, there is quite a lot that happens throughout this book. Easily the longest of the series, Blood Prophecy goes from one extreme and one danger to another; with action sequences, romance galore and quick, witty dialogue. In this book the Drake clan continue to work together to try to save Solange, while on the other side Solange is trapped inside her own mind and Viola's passed. Here, we learn more about Solange's condition and the battle she faces, still having been possessed by Viola and I will say I was quite surprised to discover Viola's link to Solange in this book. It was really very interesting--Harvey has tied it all in perfectly and managed to weave it all in with the Drake history to create a really intriguing explanation.

Solange has her fair share of battles in this book but it was really nice to see her get back to the girl she was in the first book and really become "herself" again. She's been through a lot and I think Harvey wrote her story well. All the characters I've come to adore in this series as back in this book....Hunter and Quinn, Connor and Cristabel, Logan and Isabeau, Helena and Liam, Kieran, Chloe, Jenna, Duncan, the oh-so-incredible Nicholas, but as always it's Lucy that steals the show with all the wit, fire and lack-of-inhabitations that make Lucky Hamilton such a fantastic character to read about!

As I've mentioned previously, the fantastic group of character Harvey has created have make this series what it is but at the end of the day, it's been Lucy who has made this series and in Blood Prophecy she's back in all her rash, loving glory, with her quick tongue, one liners and fierce, unwavering loyalty to the Drakes. I LOVE Lucy. Plain and simply. No if's or but's about it. This girl is just plain awesomeness. She's so brave and fearless, with no doubts when it comes to her friends and those she loves. She's never seen the Drakes as anything but the family she loves and it's this loyalty and dedication that have made reading about her so much fun. From the steady friendship she has with Solange, to the sweet and endearing, yet passionately intense relationship she develops with Nicholas to the comradeships she develops with Kieran and Hunter once at Helios-Ra Academy, Lucy gave the series such flair and life!

I've loved Lucy and Nicholas and Solange and Hunter and Quinn and Kieran and every single one of the Drakes. They've all been so different and loveable, that Alyxandra Harvey truly made me care about them throughout the entire time I've read this series. Each and every book sucked me in more and as I because enamored with the story and in love with the characters, I felt a part of the world and story, so much so that I've really heartbroken to see it end.

Alyxandra Harvey has created something really fun and refreshing with the Drake Chronicles and as she ends it on a solemn, but perfect note, I know this is one series I'll re-read again and again. With our Australian edition sporting a short story featuring Duncan and Skye, I can't help hoping Harvey will one day write a spin off featuring vampires from some of the other tribes, but regardless of my wishful thinking, I know Alyxndra Harvey will be excellent no matter what she does next!

If you have NOT read the previous books in the DRAKE CHRONICLES please read with caution. There are some spoilers that were unavoidable. Proceed with caution . . .

*cries* It's over. It's all really over and I can't stomach it. This is one of my all time favorite series and I just can't bare to see it over. I could so envision two spin off series with the Drake Chronicles. One with Lucy and one with Solange. Maybe I'm just grasping at straws because I love these characters too much especially Lucy Hamilton. This girl is one of the most humorous characters I have come across. She is the type of girl everyone wants as a friend. Minus her being stubborn as hell but hey, it's a pacakged deal - I'd take it.

I have to say I am happy with how it ended though, like I said, just sad it's all over. I was looking at my goodreads the other day and realized I read half this series in 2012. The last three books were all devoured in 2012 while the first three I tackled in 2011. I haven't been on this journey as long as everyone else but it sure did end awfully fast. Though, I would be complaining if we had to wait longer too, so I guess it's a lose/lose situation.

This book was full of Lucy and Solange, just like how the series started with a few chapters of other characters. No chapters from Nicholas' point of view but we got plenty of him, which is a big deal for me. Lucy & Nicholas are one of my all time favorite couples, as well - so the more the merrier I'd be.

The first half of the book is filled with Solange and her trying to defeat Viola who has taken over control of her body. It's one of the first times we see just how strong Solange is and how much of a Drake she truly is. Her overly protective brothers were always fighting for her but this was her battle and her battle alone. Once that obstacle was out of the way there were many more shoved in her families face. All leading up to one huge, massive battle at the end. Hunters versus Huntsman versus Hosts versus vampires versus Hel-Blar. Oh man, what a battle is was.

When Drakes are involved in a battle, it's not just their asses they're worried about, those with girlfriends were worried about her safety along with his own. When you think about it, these guys are bloody amazing. To be as lethal as they are but as observant as they are...these girl are damn lucky to have them.

It's over and I'm gonna go off in to my hole and cry that there's no more adventures with Drake family and smart ass, Lucky Hamilton & Company. What a journey this has been and if you haven't hopped on the bandwagon, shame on you. Seriously, you are missing out on such a great family and such a great story. Alyxandra Harvey, you are definitely on my list of favorite authors. Anything you write, I will buy. Thank you for giving me such an amazing series as the Drake Chronicles. I will forever re-read this series.

Blood Prophecy starts straight after Blood Moon, Solange has been possessed by Viola, the first born daughter in the Drake family, and now Solange is stuck inside Viola Psyche and must find a way to get rid of her and getting her own body back. At the same time Lucy and the Drake’s must convince everyone that Solange is possessed and it is not her who is acting this way. Also, this mysterious Dawn is still at large trying to course conflict between the vampires and the hunters.

This is the final book of the Drake chronicles and unlike the last two books in this series, this is a brilliant book, I love how it ties up the loose ends but still but also leaves the option for more stories in Violet Hill. This book is action packed but also has humour and romance as well.

I can’t say much more about the characters which I have not said before apart from Solange is much less annoying in this book than in the last. Also I do love Lucy and Nicholas they are one of my favourite couples in paranormal books. I really like how we get to see the other couples as well from previous books as it really links the books together. Harvey did a brilliant job with Dawn as I could not predict who it was and was really shocked when I did find out.

One tiny complaint with this book is that it felt like two books reduced into one but as Harvey did say that she was planning on writing 7 instead of six it is understandable. I cannot wait to see what she writes next and hopefully someday soon a spin-off with Lucy or some short stories about the Drake brothers that have been missed. I would recommend Blood Prophecy to people who liked the first 5 books in the Drake Chronicles.

NOOOOO not the conclusion!!
There are at least 3 more brothers we could read about. And I can always use more Lucy and Nicholas. I am now depressed. :(

1/29/13 Noooo it is over. I am so sad, and the conclusion was sooo good. In the Author's Note it said there would be Drake novellas still to come. That better be freakin' true.

I loved how we got a little content from each girl's POV. My favorite of the series is still Hearts At Stake. I want to know if Lucy turns into a vampire.
My favorite couples, in order: Lucy&Nicholas, Hunter&Quinn, Solange&Kieran, Isabeau&Logan, and Christabel&Conner.

Great series that will be missed. I will be waiting on extras.

esta serie o saga es decente. hay unos libros mejores que otros pero ninguno que resalte haciendo memorable por siempre. la magia es que tiene un monton de personajes diversos que sale cada quien en su libro o acompañando a sus protagonistas asi que eso hace qque siempre estemos atentos sin aburrirnos .

hasta este libro lo tenia como saga intermedia. no la volveria a leer porque recuerdo lo importante pero no es mala como para NO RECOMENDARLA.

usan la misma formula de siempre pero sale un monton de personajes , cada uno dando su punto de vista para hacerlo mas armonioso. no me funciono . pase tanto tiempo perdida que me daba igual si me lo contaba la bruja Viola o el sufrido de los hermanos. esto estaria bien si no fuera que el libro es LARGO. , no es largo . ES LARGUISIMO.
con decirles que habia un monton de hojas que pasé rapido porque no decian nada que ayudara a resolver los problemas. en serio aqui ha habido un monton de gente media boba. uno pensaria que si son tantas personas resolveria mas rapido . este no es el caso.

si , lo principal es que me ha molestado que lo ha alargado demasiado. si hubiera quitado la mitad de las hojas no me hubiera molestado tanto.

Blood Prophecy is the sixth and final book in the captivating Drake Chronicles. It's the most exciting and heart-stopping book yet! I'm heart broken that this is the last book because I have loved every page of every book in this series! Alyxandra Harvey hooked me in when I read the first novel "My Love Lies Bleeding" and she wouldn't let me go! She made me stay and wait for this epic conclusion. Not to mention she's also made me fall in love with her set of wonderful and unique characters. Oh, and she just HAD to insert a pack of beautiful boys, didn't she? Way to keep us interested...

Over the last six books, we have gotten to know each Drake brother for their own charm. Nicholas, Logan, Quinn, Connor, Duncan, Marcus and Sebastian. Yes, guys, seven beautiful un-dead boys. SEVEN! I know a lot more about Nicholas, Logan, Quinn and Connor than the last last three brothers because they each had a book dedicated to their lives, while the other three didn't. Hopefully Alyxandra will write some short stories for Marcus and Sebastian! (She has already written a short story for Duncan it's called Sound and Fury.)

And along side those hot guys are strong and courageous women who are ready to take on a pack of dysfunctional vampires called Helios-Ra. We met Lucy in the first book where she finally gets together with Nicholas after many years of them hating each other. Then we meet Isabeau who is slightly strange and has a magic heritage, and later meets Logan. In the third book, our arrogant and egotistic Quinn, meets Hunter, a girl who has been trained to kill vampires but seems to fall for him nonetheless. And finally, in the forth book the geeky Connor, who is Quinn's twin brother, encounters Christabel, Lucy's cousin, and slowly falls in love with her poetic words. The fifth and sixth book were simply a mixture of point of views, yet still full of action and romance.

I know some of you probably think that this is the typical Twilight vampire copy, it's not. At first when I saw this series I didn't expect much, but as soon as I met the characters, understood the plot... well, I couldn't put it down! You will be sucked into a crazy world where you will realise not no where is safe, and that the only place you can be protected is with the gorgeous Drake family. There is action, a ton of mysteries, kick-butt characters and LOADS of romance! How could you say no to that?

In this last book, Solange is being possessed by a strange girl, she doesn't know why and she doesn't know how, all she knows is that she must find a way to get back to her family and search for a way to destroy the soul sharing her body. Meanwhile, back at the Drake house, Lucy, the Drake family and Solange's human boyfriend Kieran, are trying to understand why Solange is suddenly on a killing rampage. Together they must find a way to get to Solange... without anyone getting killed on the way.

Solange is the only girl in the Drake family and it seems that everyone is after her. Poor girl. In this book, we follow her as she battles her demons and attempts to sort her life out. But how can she be truly happy when her boyfriend probably hates her? Kieran is the one bright spot in her life and she can't help but worry that he may not feel the same way. Kieran is so sweet though. I mean, he would go jump in front of a train for her! *Bruno Mars' Grenade playing in the background* I was rooting for a happy ending between them for ages.

I didn't want to give away too much about the book considering that it's the last book and some of you guys out there don't want spoilers if you have yet to read the start the series. If you love paranormal romance about vampires with a good kick then I don't think I could recommend any series that is as good as this one.

Solange Drake has been crowned queen and the ancient prophecy foretelling that a daughter born tot he Drake family - known for only bearing sons - will rule, has been fulfilled. Only, it's not exactly Solange that has come to power. For some time now the young vampire's thoughts and feelings have not been entirely her own, influenced (from inside her own head) by Viola.

The change has been happening to Solange since the change that everyone was aware of, her bloodchange, on her sixteenth birthday. As Viola works to gain full control of Solange and enact her revenge, to split the vampires apart, rather than unit them as Solange wants, will anyone notice it's not really her?

With everyone gathered together for the Blood Moon, things were already testy, but with Solange (or Viola) working to tear them apart, no one is safe. Perhaps, not even Solange.


Blood Prophecy is the conclusion (at least the foll length novel-wise conclusion) to the Drake Chronicles series that started with Hearts at Stake/My Love Lies Bleeding. I was incredibly sad to see this series come to a close as I've loved it from the first book, right on through all of the others (e-novellas included). But I really can't think of a better way for it to have ended.

This last book in the series takes things back full circle with most of the story being form Lucy, Solange's perspectives just as Hearts at Stake was. It's great to see so much of their friendship come out and to see how they've dealt with everything that's been thrown at them (especially in this book and the previous one) and to have it be in the first person.

There are also chapters from, I believe, everyone who has been a narrator/central character in any of the other novels: Nicholas, Kieran, Hunter, etc. As this book is focused more on a big picture and on ending the series, not as much a single romantic relationship the way previous books were, we get much more from all of the characters. The major relationships are already established, we know who the key characters are (and who makes them - and readers - swoony and who they're likely to punch in the nose).

In this book, we get to see both how those relationships are now and also how everyone works together against a larger foe. Yes, brilliant romances with the pretty Drake boys do make this series effortlessly fun to read, but it's the friendships, the snark, the teamwork that's always there as well that make it perfect.

Pretty boys aren't enough if you don't have a best friend (and excessive amounts of chocolate) to crush on them with and that's why I adore this series. Nicholas and Quinn and Logan are kind of fantastic, but it's Lucy's relationship, the friendship they've had since they were little girls that's withstood the fact that Solange is a vampire and now has Lucy still backing Solange even if she might be looking like she's gone evil-crazy!pants, that brings me into full in love land.

So, thank you Alyxandra Harvey for writing a series that has boys that has boys we can all have crushes on, has some violence when it's necessary (your vampires don't sparkle and I heart that), but also has strong female relationships that don't go wonky when boys are added to the mix.

And yes, my review did diverge a little bit but really, you shouldn't be reading this book yet if you haven't read the previous ones because it's a perfect conclusion. Little things mentioned in the series that could have just been, well, little things mentioned are brought back in this book and you see that they're actually relevant and part of the story. Love when that happens.

I'm sad to see this series go, but not at all sad with how it went.

I was pretty disappointed in this conclusion. To me, this series is highlighted by the first three books in the series, but after that it just needed to end.

I loved this new take on vampires and especially the Drakes brothers. Particularly Nicholas and Quinn. Because while all the Drake brothers are super protective of everyone else, especially their little sister Solange and Lucy, the girls are all kick-butt as well. They don’t hide behind anyone, and they’re not useless.

Lucy, though, would have to be the highlight of the series. Since she grew up with the Drake brothers and is best friends with Solange, she doesn’t swoon over the Drakes’ good looks like every other girl. Instead, they’re practically siblings (except, you know, Nicholas).

Lucy also has all the best lines. She’s impulsive, and you get the feeling that if she were gone, the whole Drake family would fall apart. She’s not a vampire, but she’s just as important.

"The Drake farmhouse was like the chimpanzee enclosure at the zoo when feeding time was late.
You know, if all the chimpanzees were undead.
And insane."

But in this last installment, I felt like it just kind of fell apart. I found myself skimming the pages instead of really reading them near then end. This has to do with the fact that it seemed the ending would just never come. Honestly, it should have ending about 50-100 pages before it did.

It actually kind of reminded me of Vampire Academy, and how while I liked the series well enough, by the fifth book it just needed to end.

Most of the time, the romance between the Drake brothers and whatever girl that novel is centered around (each book centers around a different girl and different Drake brother) is pretty good. It was believable, and added in that nice spice there is when vampires are involved.

"The Drake’s didn’t lure drunk college students out of the bars and compel them to forget being fed on. Well, maybe Quinn used to, but I could guarantee none of those girls needed to be compelled."

Also, that cover? It needs to die a slow, painful death. It makes it look like such a cliché romance novel, which it was not.

Actually, this novel probably had the least amount of romance in it out of the whole series. It’s more focused on Viola’s possession of Solange and everyone running around clueless like a chicken with it’s head cut off. A lot of angst is going on here, and it’s not pretty.



I felt like the author was trying to give us some epic, grand scale battle at the end. But I didn’t want that nor do I think this novel needed it. It didn’t feel right, and as I said before, this would have been so much better had it ended about a hundred pages before it did.

WARNING SPOILERS ********* TURN BACK NOW POINT OF NO RETURN

Ok. SO. I just finished this yesterday. Let me just say- wow. I can't believe the series is over! I just CANNOT get enough of Lucy/Nicholas fluff. Ever since the first book. Just wow. Anyways.
I never really enjoyed Solange's point of view. When I first started Hearts at Stake, I thought I would prefer Sol's perspective over Lucy's, but it was the other way around. I loved anything in Lucy's perspective. Ahem. However. Solange's description of being in Viola's mind was really intense. It was good. I couldn't wait to read more about Viola's story, her past, and how Sol was going to get back to herself.
I also liked how Christa's, Hunter's, and Isabeau's points of view were integrated into the story, though I would have loved to get a few chapters in Nicholas or Kieran's perspective. Perhaps we can get an ebook of Nicholas' thoughts as he was undercover in the camp, pretending to be Sol's (Viola's) ally? Anyways. the fight scene at the end was good. I was freaking out when we lost Tyson and hunter's grandpa!! And the hit list?? Oh wow. I was freaking out. I mean, like: /Users/Carolina/Desktop/GIFS and Memes/sedateme.gif
I also loved how it wasn't ALL about Sol's possession, or all about Dawn's evil plan. I mean, there were a lot of other issues and people involved and Ms. Harvey addressed them all- such as the different vampire factions (Na Foir, the tribes, the tribe less) and different people involved (Hunters grandfather, the hit list, DAILEY?!?, the Host) Characters from each of the other five books came back and tied in the character's connections, and their part in getting to the last book and the last big fight.

I loved the Longest Night celebration, the dynamic between Lucy and the rest of the brothers, her friendsship with Keiran and Hunter and the rest of the Helios gang, as well as the return to normalcy in regards to her sisterhood with Solange, which was great to see returned to the way it was in the first book. But i seriously want more, more, more. I can't get enough of Ms. Harvey's works. I also loved Haunting Violet- can we get a sequel to that? And I can't wait for what comes next with the Regency series. I just hope that we'll get more of the Drakes in the future. Because who can ever have enough of the Drake boys? Not me, that's for sure.

The first four books in this series were packed with action, humour and romance, and I had really loved them. Sadly the last two books did not live up to this promise and the series ended with more of a whimper than a bang for me. It's very unlikely that I'd read Blood Moon and Blood Prophecy again.

The chapters where Viola fully takes over Solange, leaving Solange trapped in a castle inside Viola's mind, were very dull and confusing. We have Solange wandering around this castle looking for answers and an exit. This was repetitive and dull on a grand scale and I did not enjoy this at all. Endless memories that Viola was 'sharing' with the reader through Solange bored me and added nothing to the plot. It just slowed things down again. It took so long to move the plot forward when we kept having to suffer these dramatic mental interludes until Solange found an idea on how to escape Viola. I was ready to cheer with relief when we finally got to that stage.

The other thing that bored me was the author deciding to resort to that boring YA cliche of the heroine being bullied at school. It was really getting on my nerves to see Lucy constantly having to deal with bullies in this book. We got through the rest of the series without dreadful cliches so I don't understand why the author decided to drop all that into the plot now. It was not a great plot advancement. And frankly, why is Lucy there? She never seems to actually go to classes! Or sleep, for that matter.

This book does not have enough kickass Drake Brother action. It is focused too much on the terrible ordeal of poor possessed Solange and Lucy being bullied, and not enough of all the great characters introduced in earlier books.

So what I did like about the book? The ending. The book finally kicks back into gear with Solange learning how to fight Viola, Lucy getting herself into a pile of trouble and trying to find a way to escape, the attack on the school and on the Blood Moon camp. Basically you could miss out all the boring stuff at the start and go straight to the end of the book where things start to kick off. This is where we get to see the things we loved about those first four books! I still don't understand why the author deviated from that great writing in book five and the start of book six. I was thankful that things were salvaged by a satisfactory end to this book.

However, the ending alone did not make this a great book and I cannot bring myself to rate it higher than a three, and it's only getting that because of the big finish.

I knew starting this book, the last book in the Drake Chronicles, was going to be a bittersweet journey. I have come to love the Drakes, Kieran, Lucy, Isabeau, Christa, Hunter and the gang. It is always hard when you become attached to a series to read the last book and know that after that last page, that is it. It is time to say goodbye.

So even though I really wanted to dive into this one to find out what happens, to see how it all ends, I did it with a heavy heart.

I really wanted to savor this one, to make it last but I just couldn't I had to find out how it all worked itself out. To know the fate of the Drakes and all their friends.

We get a lot of Lucy in this one which is so nice because really I could read this series just for her sarcastic humor and witty one liners alone, heck with the Drake boys. Okay maybe not, the Drake boys have some pretty great one liners too and don't forget the whole hot vampire thing they all have going on.

And of course we get a whole lot of Solange going on. I mean, really this is her story now. Well, her's and Viola's.

Viola and Tristan were a very hard couple to not feel sorry for. It was a total love/hate relationship I had going on with them. And in the end, well, I won't give anything away but it was sad and a little heartbreaking too. That two people would do so much for love and...well, you will just have to read it to know how it ends for them.

I am so glad that so many of my questions were answered about Constantine, about Viola and even about Madame Veronique. I was really hoping that there wouldn't be anything left undone as far as that was concerned and really there wasn't.

As while I am so sad that this series is over, I am so glad that Ms. Harvey ended it the way that she did, with a fierce battle, love always winning and family always there by your side when it really matters.

Most of all, I am ecstatic that while this was the last book in the series, it isn't over. We will get a novella or two somewhere down the road and I am really really hoping that she will give the rest of the Drake brothers their HEA as well.

Overall this was very well done and definitely bittersweet that it is over.

*First Thoughts*

Blood Prophecy is the final installment in the Drake Chronicles series and I'm happy to say that it was better than I expected. According to the author, this is not the last time we will hear from the Drake Family since she plans to write novellas in the near future. I hope that means more of Lucy and Nicholas since they are my favorite couple and Lucy is my favorite character who takes a licking and keeps on ticking. She's also the only one besides Hunter who doesn't get changed into a vampire even though she's madly in love with a Drake Brother!

After reading Blood Prophecy, and learning why Solange has been so totally spastic over the course of this series, I found myself actually liking the way she kicked some serious ass in this book when it's found out that she's been possessed by a long dead Drake relative. She also makes some really adult decisions in the end, which I was truly surprised at. I even liked the way she handled herself when an enemy from the past returns in hopes of riding humanity of the Drakes and vampires in general.

Blood Prophecy is actually told in a rotating POV by Solange, Lucy, Christabel (who I still don't like, nor understand what her addition to this series brought except perhaps a mate for Connor), Isabeau, and Hunter who has become probably my favorite secondary character because she and Lucy get along so well, and Hunter is another character who takes a beating and keeps on fighting.

It's always sad when a series ends, but in this case I truly believe this series ran it's course. Sure there are a few questions I'd like to know, but, maybe in the upcoming novellas, we will learn more. There IS a novella at the end of this book which is about Duncan, a vampire named Sky, and a human named Miranda. It would be nice to see more of Duncan and Sky.

I decided to read this book because i have read a couple other books in this series and i wanted to read the final book. This book was interesting because everything came together well and I thought this was a perfect way to end the series. I do wish there was a little more time with some of the secondary characters that were big in some of the other books, like hunter, quinn, connor and christabel. But I was happy to see them again, even for a short while.

This book fits into the category "A book written in 2012 or 2013" as it was written in 2013 and recently published. I like this category because the books can be more modern than books written a while ago.

My favourite quote from this book was "They were untamed, like thunder and lightning in a glass jar. You just knew, sooner or later, the jar would shatter into pieces.". I really like this quote because of the technique that was used and the way it is written. i love it!

Something i learnt from this book is that its ok to take risks, other than that there wasn't really a message being conveyed to the readers that i could think of.

A character that i found interesting was Lucy, she is one of the most humorous characters I have come across and is the type of girl everyone wants as a friend. I like how interesting Lucy is and how she can always lighten up the mood or put in a little sarcasm here or there.

This is the conclusion to the Drake Chronicles. Now Solange has been crowned Queen, but she is posessed by Viola, who has a vendetta. She plans to use Solange to carry out her plans to destroy the vampire clans and enslave the humans.
Everyone is trying to save Solange, but have no idea how. Kiernan doesn't give up on her, which is sweet. I like them as a couple. He helps Lucy search for answers just as the Drakes are as well.
Nicholas and Lucy will still always be my favorite couple in the series. It was a nice way to end the book with Solange's struggle to keep herself intact while fighting the vampire that has her possessed. She now rules over the Vampires and I liked how they tied the story up nicely.
Overall, this was a solid read from Alyxandra Harvey and a great ending to the Drake Chronicles. This book gets four stars.

Oh, *SOB*! I am going to miss this series so much! It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Alyxandra Harvey's and I gobble up almost everything she pens but this series will always have a box seat on my favorite book shelf.

I'm not going to write a full review right now [mostly because my left hand isn't working properly-I have gross motor movements right now but fine motor movements are still avoidy and it makes typing frustrating and time consuming but it will be better soon]

A full review WILL be coming within a month and I just want to leave off with saying how much I'm going to miss the 'Drakes' and friends but look forward to Alyxandra's next works!

While I'm sad to see the end of the Drakes, the promise in the back of the book of future e-novellas gives me hope. Also, the series itself was nicely wrapped up. The story lines with the possession and then bringing an evil they though vanquished back, kept me gripping the edge of my seat as I hurried to read faster and faster to see how it would all turn out. And I really loved getting a little glimpse into Sebastian's love life at the end. I had always wanted him to have his own story, so I hope he's one of the e-novellas that Ms. Harvey hinted at.

This book series definitely went downhill after book 4. I feel like the characters just became annoying and I don't care for them anymore. Although I hated the insta romance, at least the characters were still the same. They were still interesting in the first four.

These ones made me feel cheated.

I hated almost all of the characters towards the end, maybe my tastes have just changed.

Started reading this when it came out and it has been my favorite book series since. its that the character are so fun and full of life and are amazing and funny. So sad it's over although not as sad as I should be cause I think I'm in denial that it's over :(

I absolutely love this series! The drake brothers, and the other characters, are so lovable. This was a great ending to the series although I'm really going to miss it.
