Faded Photograph #3

Precious Things

Rate this book
The past was far behind her--at least that's what Blythe Severson thought. But then she received a wedding invitation containing a faded photograph, and old memories resurfaced. Even worse, Kylie Rollins entered her life....Kylie's fresh young face--searching, wondering, and reminding Blythe of the one man she loved and lost--turns Blythe's world upside down. When T. J. enters the picture, bringing a taste of emotions Blythe thought long dead, she must summon the courage to reveal painful secrets that will end Kylie's tortured search. In Precious Things, author Andrea Boeshaar brings her Faded Photographs series to a dramatic close. An antique dealer must confront her own past when a faded photograph resurrects memories she thought were gone forever.

Precious Things, the third book in the Faded Photograph trilogy, left me wanting more. I liked the book, but I didn't love it. I had trouble believing that Kylie and Matt should end up together. Too many of the relationships felt unreconciled or superficial. I had to finish the book to find out what was going to happen to these characters I had invested so much time into over three books, which is a great thing! On the downside, I closed the book and wasn't satisfied with the ending.

The premise is really good, and I enjoy a happy ending, but it was a little "preachy" for my taste. I have nothing against a Christian message - I just prefer it less "in your face" Well written

It was a pretty good book and although I like Ms. Boeshaar's writing I think she is a little preachy. I think you can lead someone to Christ without beating them over the head with it. I think if an agnostic or someone that is not a Christian reads it then they will be turned off after a few pages. I like how some other authors lead and don't stay on it too much.

This writer is very gifted in drawing you into the lives of the books characters. From the very first page you feel an emotional investment in the trials and troubles they are dealing with, and it is written from an evangelical perspective. It is not overly preachy, but does provide scripture that shows God’s love and care for us - no matter how big or small the problem. This is a story that shows how the Lord can walk you through - grief, betrayal, adoption, fear, distrust, and forgiveness.
I highly recommend this book. It was so good that I finished it in four days - which is highly unusual for me.

Precious Things was my favorite book of the Faded Photographs series. Wrapping up the trilogy, Blythe and Kylie learn the unexpected path God often takes us down to make us what He wants us to be!

I loved the Faded Photographs trilogy by Andrea Boeshaar, Precious Things being the final book. The books are based on the discovery of 30 year old photograph and how it affects the lives of those in it once it resurfaces. The characters lives intersect once again, bringing back painful discoveries yet a slow process of healing. A great series!

This is a reunion type of story. An unwed mother gives up her daughter many years ago and is wracked with guilt. The daughter eventually finds her biological mother after the death of her adoptive mother who is also her aunt. This was the third book in the series. It was quite predictable. I’m sure that I won’t go back and read the first two because I know the complete story line now.

Predictable. The characters were interesting...I almost quit reading at page 40 because it didn't hold my interest. I just wanted to find out what happened to the characters, so I finished it. Easy read, but no deep thought required.

I had to read this last book to find out what happened to the characters I had come to know in the earlier books. I was slightly disappointed in the ending but overall a good book.
