Time is every woman's most precious commodity—and a lack of it is the number one reason, in survey after survey, that women give for why they don't exercise. But research now shows that as little as 15 minutes of resistance training is just as effective in spiking one's metabolism as a workout lasting more than twice as long. All it takes is 15 minutes to achieve lifelong results—and women are more likely to stick to an exercise plan if it's chopped down to those 15 minutes. The Women's Health Big Book of 15-Minute Workouts is both an introduction to the fundamentals of short workouts and a comprehensive collection of hundreds of the most effective ones. These workouts have been designed for every fitness goal, from total body conditioning to targeting trouble spots with exercises like the 15 Minute Flat-Belly-without-a-Single-Crunch Workout. Other highlights an eating plan with delicious meals that take 15 minutes or less to prepare- workouts for when you're stuck in traffic or traveling and can't make it to the gym- hundreds of tips from America's best trainers, nutritionists, and exercise scientists

As a busy professional, with little free time and kids at home, this has become my go-to workout book. The variety is great. It is impossible to get bored, especially with the range of easily-acquirable home equipment they include. I particularly love their medicine ball workouts. The illustrations and descriptions are clear. Many routines, however, don't turn out to be 15 minutes if you repeat the sets as recommended, or perhaps I am just slow.

A few things would have made the book easier to use. I wish they included modifications for the really hard exercises, of which there are many. The typography is too busy for my taste, and I wish they had marked the end of an exercise set, so the reader don't have to flip the page to find out whether that's the last one.

Despite its foibles, this book was relatively well-edited compared to many fitness books I have seen. Overall, highly recommended, if, like me, you prefer working out from books over using videos or picking up tribal knowledge at the gym.

The workouts are simple and effective but some of the terminology is counter productive to the book's purpose. Anyone who wants to lose weight/tone up doesn't need to be body shamed and some of the words used are quite harsh and felt unnecessary.

While I’m not following the diet exactly based on other needs, the concepts align. What I like the most - the pictures actually give good guidance on the form, especially if I ask my husband to review what I’m doing and compare it to the book.

This is a wonderful reference book for strength training. I renewed it so many times from the library that I finally just purchased a copy. I haven't read it cover to cover, but I've read bits and pieces of it and will eventually read the whole thing. I like that it has short (15 minute) strength training circuits that are described in words, but also shown in easy to follow photos. They have circuits to target all parts of the body and even have a section of stretches and strength training to help heal and prevent pain in different areas. I highly recommend it!

The titles of the work-outs are highly obnoxious and downright offensive in some cases, such as titles that are highly body shaming or goal oriented.

This book further ingrains frustrating ideas such losing those last 5 vanity pounds, squeezing into clothes you want, or hating your "saddlebags" and "batwings".

At most, this book is nice when you are bored and don't want to construct your own work-outs. This book is not a necessary purchase if you can design your own work-outs. Just purchase Bill Pearl's, "Getting Stronger".

This is a book I would actually own. Say what you will about Women's Health magazine- this book is useful. There are tons of quick but effective circuit style workouts that don't use much/any equipment. I think some would be longer than 15 minutes until you get comfortable. Also, this is kind of intermediate- it's harder than it looks and requires some knowledge of good exercise form.

A good "one-stop" resource for quick and easy exercises. I wanted to change up some of my exercise routines and I like the fact that this book has resistance band and medicine ball workouts--along with a bevy of other equipment workouts, exercises for different trouble zones, etc. The step-by-steps and pictures are fairly clear and easy to follow.

It's one of the best books for exercising. Easy to understand step by step instructions for 15 minute exercises. Including well illustrated picture's of the exercises. This book will be used over and over again. I highly recommend this book for beginners and people to stay on track with their exercising.
