This book covers the life of Tecumseh from birth to death and includes early colonial period, the revolution, the French and Indian wars, and the settling of the Ohio country by whites. It's is a great and tragic telling of the interactions with the Indian nations. Tecumseh has long been one of the most admired legends of US history and this book does not do him justice. This was not as quick or fun of a read as it appeared to be edited from an oral telling...poorly edited. The book contains extraneous letter characters and improper English language that detracted from the story. In the end, there is considerable discussion, perhaps 10-15% of the book's total length about how Tecumseh died and who killed him. He seemed to know that it was his time and there are conflicting accounts of his demise. There are better books about Tecumseh.
I totally loved this book as Tecumseh has long been one of my most admired legends of history. This was not as quick or fun of a read as perhaps Panther in The Sky.....but short enough and filled with enough info to keep most non fiction enthusiasts entertained and slightly informed...Some good details of background stuff to fi in some holes for me.
