Wayne Osmond has spent the past 50 years of his life entertaining audiences around the world. He and his family are know primarily for their singing, but Wayne has also etched out a distinctive identity as the comedian of the group. Entertaining, inspiring, and downright hilarious to those who know him best, Laugh Lines is sure to provide a good laugh for everyone, young and old.
Melvin Wayne Osmond was an American musician. He was the second-oldest of the original Osmond Brothers singers and the fourth oldest of the nine Osmond children.
If you are looking for amazing behind the scenes details on Wayne and The Osmonds, this is not really the book for you. If, however, you are looking for a wonderful joke book for all occasions, this is what you need. Each chapter starts with just a few pages of intro/background from Wayne, then the following 2/3-3/4 of the chapter is laugh-out-loud/groan-out-loud jokes from one line zingers to short stories. There are a few (very sweet) "this is Wayne" stories interspersed throughout the jokes told mostly by his children, but there are a few by Mother Olive.
It's obvious this is a self-published book because it could have used more editorial review with attention to detail. Some of the formatting is off, and there are repetitions of some of the jokes. It's somewhat off-putting, and that's why I couldn't give this book five stars.
I have loved the Osmonds since I was a teenager. This book is more of a joke book with a few paragraphs of stories by Wayne and his family. Most of the jokes are pretty corny and most have been around for years, but once in a while there was one worth a chuckle. Really, if you want some jokes you could tell your kids or grandkids, this would be a good resource. On a side note, the author passed away a couple of months ago.
Enjoyed learning more about Wayne. Sharing his love of God, family, and life in this writing. Would have enjoyed him being a public speaker sharing his stories. Definitely gone from this world too soon, but in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
I was hoping for more stage and on-the-road stories. The book is mostly his collection of "jokes", which they're not really - mostly insults which are not funny.
