Rate this book

All Detective Knightley Vander wants for Christmas is to spend some time alone with fellow law enforcement agent Dulcie O’Neil, a feisty spitfire and the love of his life. But his Christmas wish is interrupted when a sniper serial killer comes to his town of Splendor, California.

Bodies are dropping left and right, and mysterious clues left at each scene lead Knight to suspect every Netherworld creature in town. Things get personal when Dulcie disappears, leaving Knight increasingly desperate to solve the case. Will he and his team be able to unwrap the killer’s identity before it’s too late or will this turn out to be Knight's worst Christmas ever?

This holiday season, H.P. Mallory brews up an entertaining mystery full of sexy supernaturals and creepy Christmastime crimes.

I’m a huge fan of anything paranormal and I always have been. I get super excited whenever they have those Twilight Zone Marathon days and anything ghost or vampire related will always attract my attention.

My interests are varied but aside from writing, I’m most excited about traveling. I’m extremely fortunate to have been able to live in England and Scotland, both places really having a profound effect on my books.

Thanks for checking out my books and I hope you enjoy them! Happy Haunting!

Four and a quarter stars

This is a fine magical mystery: heavy on the paranormal, light on the romance, with rather intriguing world-building. The murder mystery is very well developed, and Dulcie displays well in her role as a savvy regulator (cop), but Knight is the lead investigator who's far too easily distracted by Dulcie's sex appeal. This reader was sufficiently intrigued to search for other books with these characters and plans to start the Dulcie O'Neil series.

It was very interesting to see things through Knight's eyes and a man's view. All of the other books are through a female character so you really don't know what the men are thinking only what you see them doing or how the women Interpret it. I loved getting a different perspective on Dulcie and Knight, especially how he sees her. I would love another story from Knight's point of view.

As a fan of the Dulcie O'Neil series, I really enjoyed this short story. It could be read as a stand alone and still be enjoyable, but then you would miss the history of what the characters went through to get where they are now.

I liked seeing through Knight's POV since the rest of the series is from Dulcie's perspective. This was a cute, short, enjoyable read and I would recommend picking it up.

A great quick read

This is basically a short story, but features the characters from the Dulcie series. This is also told from Knight's viewpoint.

I really enjoyed this and wish it was longer. However, for anyone who has loved the Dulcie series, this a really fun visit back to the characters and their dynamic together.

Very good read, this is a short story on Dulcie and Knight and love plus fighting crime only the way they can. One is a fairy and by the way she doesn't sound like she can cook to well and a Loki. There is a series on them and if you have not read you should it is good. This is a Christmas story of love and betrayal and a few nuts thrown in.

HP Mallory is such a good author. Beautiful editing, story flow. Having read all the Dulcie O'Neal series I wanted a little more "hotness" between Dulcie and Knight. This adventure is told from his perspective so as a stand alone you don't really see just how hot he is!

Always looking forward to your next book HP.

Wow

I love this series! Dulcie and Knight together are an awesome couple. They are trying to solve a case involving the twelve days of Christmas. Someone is shooting people and leaving cards about each of the days. It was a short read but it wasn't rushed.

Being in Knightley's point of view, this book was SO a dude's perspective! It was a good quick read and let us check in with Dulcie, Knight, and Sam. I miss them again, already!

I love both Dulcie and Knight and was so glad to see another small book that came out to add to the series! I hope that there will be more coming as I cannot get enough.
