About the author

Scott Peterson got his start in comics as an editor on the Batman line of comics, working with the legendary Dennis O’Neil. He edited DC’s flagship title, Detective Comics, and launched the first of the the Adventures sub-genre of comics, The Batman Adventures. He later went on to edit for WildStorm, where he oversaw such titles as WildCats, Midnighter, A God Somewhere and North 40, as well as Scooby-Doo and Looney Tunes. As a writer, he has been published by Disney, Scholastic, Golden Books, HarperCollins, and DC Comics, including a four-year run as the regular writer of The Gotham Adventures. He is the author of Batman: Kings of Fear with art legendary artist Kelley Jones, and the original graphic novel Truckus Maximus.

”Weird. He never goes upstairs in costume.”

Alfred tells Robin that this one night is an exception. Batman leaves. Takes the car.

Batman lands on the roof of the police station where the bat signal is turned on. He sees a playing card taped to it with a note from the Joker. It says if you’re looking for Commissioner Gordon, I’ve got the family. You want it. Come get it.

The Batgirl arrives. Batman leaves. She chases him. Batman tells her he doesn’t need her help. And doesn’t want it.

At the abandoned carnival™ there is a crowd watching Joker on a platform with a tied up Commissioner Gordon at his feet. Batman arrives. Batgirl surprises him by arriving right behind him. Then she sees her father.

Batman tells her he is going to get the Commissioner back. Even though there is 50 guys surrounding the Joker. Then he handcuffs her.

Then a henchman shoves a handcuffed Barbara Gordon on stage. Joker scolds her for being tardy.

That was interesting. Though there is some questionable story points about what exactly happened with Barbara, but nothing major.

Unfortunately this appears to the last of the BATMAN GOTHAM ADVENTURES series. I’ll definitely miss it.

Between the Batman & Robin Adventures and the Batman Adventures I think this actually has the strongest art as well.

I have heard a rumor that this will be an omnibus someday….

Darn near had me choking back a tear. Well done. Thevstirt and art were perfect to tell the story. A true look at Bruce Wayne.

Makes sense that Batman would keep Barbara in the dark for a bit, but he shouldn't.
