This book provides short readings and meditations that fit well into daily family worship. The brevity works for our young family. There’s plenty of room for expansion if using this as a prayer companion. I appreciate the weekly appointed collects in the back and the icons for each Sunday. Sometimes Pr Eckardt likes to harp on his favorite tunes that spring up at seemingly random times in response to readings. Not the best daily meditation companion in the LCMS, but certainly far from the worst.

I really like most of the content but the print quality is garbage. I’m on my second copy and it’s not an improvement so I didn’t simply get a dud: the quality is simply poor.
