Solease has used writing as an outlet since grade school. While at the University of Michigan she was forced to take literary classes and her love for writing increased even more. Solease graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors in Sociology. She then went on to graduate from Kaplan University with a Master's in Criminal Justice. During her time in higher education she continued to write with a deeper passion for writing. Her career passion is Criminal Justice, but her first love is writing poetry and short stories. Holiday and her sisters were some real live killing machines. The twist and turns in this book kept me on the edge of my seat, and my heart in my throat. This novel was definitely a page turner that did not have a dull moment. This novel display love and loyalty to the fullest. Holiday and her sister was no nonsense we it was time to handle business. The story and the characters were thought provoking and they left you in awe. Only Holiday could pull off a double life like she did.
This novel would do well as a movie because it is so vivid, each page read like a science from a movie. If you love Paranormal Mystery I highly recommend this book and this author. The Betrayal in this novel will leave you questioning who can you trust.

Awesome read. Having read other books from this author I knew she was a good writer but WOW! I loved this book the way she created the ghosts and made them bad ass ladies.I loved it. The author had me wanting more and thank goodness I have the next one.

Nice Story
I would have given this series starter a 5 but the way it is written makes it not such a joy to read
I love the sisters and interactions between them and Joe and Holiday's relationship,his family not so much and Evey is a well written part of the story,David is a wild card that I think is using his gift and I look forward to reading more I just hope it is more well written than this one

Oh my goodness, I was on the edge of my seat threw the whole book. Holiday is on strong killer whose got a lot on her plate. She's in love with two different men. I'm rooting for Joe. I just love all the sisters, they are all full of personalities. I can't wait to read more. What an adventure.

I had the great opportunity of sampling “Secrets of The Ghosts- The Sleeper”
Book one of the Secrets of the Ghosts Trilogy. Brought to us by Author Solease M. Barner.
The first thing I will say is a word of caution, be ready for a world full of action, turmoil and internal struggle. And Food! Lot’s of food. It is our Heroine’s great relaxer, and if you read this woman’s menu on an empty stomach, you are sure to be starving and raiding the fridge by chapter five! I know I did!
So let us look at the story so far. We have Holiday Mary Jones-Towley. A wife, mother, and wedding planner with a secret that has been eating at her for many years. She is no ordinary upper-middle class house wife, not by any stretch of the imagination. Before settling in picturesque Novi, Michigan, she was witness to her parents brutal slaying, which put her into the hands of Ava, (Mother) the trainer for the ASG (Agency of Secret Ghosts) a hush, hush Government Organization that takes wayward kids, preferably and almost exclusively female, shapes, molds and desensitizes them in to the perfect assassins. They are no one, intangible, and once you are in their cross hairs soon to shall you be.
Now this was more than enough to pull any reader in. I mean who doesn’t love the secret agent motif. Let’s face it; there just aren’t enough women out there with a “License to Kill.”
By chapter three, aptly titled Changing sides, Holiday is faced with the knowledge that the woman Ava, who has been like a mother to her and her adoptive sisters, all part of the ASG as well, has set her sights on her two year old daughter, Evey, which unleashes Holiday’s protective streak, calling in her sisters to keep Ava’s calculating hands off of the child and away from the rest of her family, which has decided now is the time to drop in and say “Hello.”
As if the threatening crisis of her two worlds colliding were not stress enough, an ex-lover is thrown into the mix and an underlying threat of something called “The Sleeper,” has Holiday’s senses all a flutter. She must find away to balance the two worlds or risk endangering not only the lives of her husband and daughter, but that of her sisters and in-laws as well.
But even the most deeply buried secrets have a way of bubbling to the surface when the waters get high enough.
If you have a need for high intrigue, gut twisting psychological turmoil and a bit of fun at the expense of a good meal, then I highly recommend picking up,
I know I was pleasantly surprised.

This book Was Awesome!! I was so hooked the entire story I couldn't put it down and When I got to the end I immediately went and bought Book two because I just had to know more! This story Was so well written I felt like I was apart of it! Holiday is living a double life as a wife to Joe and Mother to Evey. She is A wedding planner or so her family thought! Really her and her sisters are Ghosts a highly trained Government group of assassins they are the best at what they do and when Holidays daughter Evey is in Danger of being kidnapped and trained to be a ghost by "Mother" Ava their skills are put to the test and they prove that even "heartless killers" will stop at nothing to protect the ones they love! I absolutely loved every single one of the "Jones" Sisters! My Favorite however are Rebecca with her Straightforward Bluntness She takes no Crap and has no Problem telling everyone how it is and how its going to be, and Orenda is also my favorite with her Nurturing and Caring attitude she is a great support for Holiday and all the sisters! As the sister plan to shut down the agency and ensure Evey's safety as well as Rescue their sister Joy from Ava Holiday is finding out along the way that she has a special gift and she will soon awaken and when she does that will make her way more dangerous then she or anyone else ever imagined! I highly recommend this book!

This book was full of action from the start. Holiday is not your average women she is a ghost a top secrecy agent trained from childhood to kill those who the government deems a threat. Her life is filled with one lie after another she decides she want to marry and have a family but she can't have that life without her past catching up to her. AVA the women who adopted holiday wants Evey, holidays daughter she wants to train her just like she did holiday to be a ghost but that will happen when he'll freezes over. This is the story of how holiday and her adopted sister protect holidays previous baby from their sciatic mother. Will holiday get away with her lie of a life? Will her past and present get her and destroy her family? To find out I say get this book it's an emotional rollercoaster from the get go I didn't want it to stop 5 gold stars

This is the first book by Solease Barner I've read. All I can say is that this won't be the last. The Sleeper is such an emotional and intense read that it has captivated my attention from start to finish. A word of advice, though, be sure to have the second book on hand before you start reading the Sleeper because it is a major cliffhanger. You will not want to delay reading book 2. That's how entranced I am by these books! AWESOME!

Not normally my type of read but since I love her other books (the Draglen series) I had to try this one out. It did start out a little slow for me but by the end of this book I was in love. Can't wait to read book 2. Great job Solease keep cranking them out :)

Loved this book
Since I one clicked this book I thought it was about 'ghosts'.... pleasantly surprised that it's about an secret government trained sisterhood of assassins. Great read the book just keeps you intrigued with twists you never see coming. Highly recommended!
