Superheroes come in all shapes and sizes and sometimes they wear a very familiar face. In one household, Mom is late to work, Dad is sick with the flu, and the rest of the family is dealing with chaos. Who are you going to call? It's Supergran to the rescue! Supergran tackles all the challenges thrown her way, from finding missing pets to cooking a flu-busting stew to even chasing out a stinky skunk. There's nothing she can't handle as she supercharges her way to getting this household back on track. And at the end of the day, all is now right in this family's world. But her greatest superpower? Her love for her family. Now that's a superhero!
It is a fun book about grandma helping her family problem-solve one busy day. The fun rhyming text is perfect for a read-aloud on Grandparents' Day or any day to read with that special someone! A must-have for all libraries!

A delightfully sweet picture book celebrating problem solving, creativity, and perseverance. When things go wrong, Supergran teams up with her Superteam to save the day. This rhyming book was absolutely adorable. Perfect from Grandparents' Day or to read throughout the year to celebrate grandparents.
The illustrations are so much fun. Bright and colorful with plenty of action and humor. There are also some hidden hamsters to find throughout.
I especially love that Supergran doesn't have to fix everything alone. Her grandchildren are more than happy to follow her lead and help solve the family's problems.
At the back is a list of suggested ways to have fun with grandparents including learning about family history, making things together, trying new foods, and learning a new language.
There seems to be a publishing trend to depict grandparents, especially grandmothers, in more active roles than has been the case in the past. In this picture book, filled with colorful, cartoonlike illustrations, it's Supergran to the rescue when the toilet is clogged, someone has the flu, and a hamster is on the run. In fact, she easily solves nine problems as listed in the text, in the process restoring order to the household. The rhyming text and the last double-page spread featuring Gran in a superhero costume as she flies away add to this book's humor. Plus, it just might prompt a second look at grandmothers and the realization that they do, indeed, have special skills and powers that no one else does.
This book was cute! It had rhyming themes throughout and used comic book words like “pow” that was neat. Something I also noticed is that the hamsters in the book were hidden throughout so that can be used to have a child engage and make it into a game to find the hamster.
