Not as good as it's predecessor, and there many times when I wanted to throw my kindle away rather than try to finish the next poorly constructed sentence, but I'm not sorry. I love the premise, I love the characters, and against all odds, I loved the book. My beloved W.C. Anderson- if you will just let me help with editing, I would do it for free! Your beautiful flawed heroine deserves better! I feel like maybe you feel rushed, and I can understand that. But slow down! At least before you publish.
Now... where is the next book?!?! I need Evangeline to have some kind of happy ending! It doesn't need to be a perfect ending, but give me something! I'm desperate here! I feel like I've been waiting for twenty years already!
I decided to read this because I had read the first in this trilogy and seemed to remember enjoying it. I have to admit, I am not finished reading this yet, but so far this one is a mess. The editing is awful and the author jumps back and forth from present to past tense. I am going to try to power through, but I'm finding it difficult to pick up and read this one...
Ok, it started to pick up momentum about 35% into the book and I was able to finish. Despite the slow beginning and horrible editing, it wasn't bad. It just didn't have the draw for me that the first of the series did.
