I am so glad I gave this series a chance. The second volume took what was good with the first and made it much better. The jokes were funnier, the characters were far more interesting, and the drama was actually engaging. I'm not a fan of the "stalker girl" trope simply because it is so overdone (not that it isn't realistic, just overdone) but there were two things that happened in this conflict that I liked. First, when Nima confronted Kana about her behavior after she revealed Takeshi's identity during the contest, Nima was angry but when she delivered her heart-felt final lines she was crying. Ordinarily this is the moment when the lead character is furious and shows it in her expression, but in this instance Nima looks more hurt than angry. I thought that was not only an refreshing change but was more true to Nima's character than if she had gotten mad. Going off of this, the second thing I enjoyed was that Nima not only gets into a fight with Kana, but she instigates it. Yet while she is clearly angry she still has tears in her eyes, like this is hurting her doing this. It made the scene more enjoyable and carry greater weight. The rest of the volume is fairly predictable, but it is still thoroughly enjoyable and quite funny. Will definitely continue with this series.
