五十年来中国之文学
《五十年来中国之文学》是胡适为上海《申报》五十周年纪念册而作，目的是记载当时五十年新旧文学过渡时期的历史，完稿于1922年3月，次年发表于《申报》五十周年纪念特刊《最近之五十年》。本书中，可以看出胡适继承了传统的史学精神，在实录的基础上自出机杼，从古文的末路、古文学的新变、白话小说的发达及缺点、文学革命这几个方面来再现这五十年的文学，这既是一定程度上历史事实的总结，也是在有意识地、有选择地建构历史，让历史说话。
