Seth Lorcan thrived on undercover work and he was good at it. But his latest assignment brought him dangerously close to the edge--and made him a target, from both the bad guys and the good. And if he didn't act fast, all the information he'd risked his life to obtain would be gone, just as quick as the memory card could be destroyed. What he needed was a ride out of there...even if he had to take it. Carjacking--carborrowing--was his only option. But Seth got more than he bargained for when he took Alessandra Brockman...that was for sure.
Al wouldn't let him hurt her or anyone else. Especially when she realized just exactly who Seth was.
Calle Jaye is fun, playful, ironic, professional and sophisticated. She’s super-educated in the field of fiction and would spend most of her time walking around in “Book World” (or”eBook World”).
Does she have slight control freak tendencies? Yep. Why else would she chose to self-publish?
In her day job she gets to read romance novels. In her night job she gets to write them!
Her favorite color is bold purple. She likes rock like Kid Rock, Shinedown, and Nickelback. Add in a bit of Anastacia and Adelle, too.
She collects rocks. Watches crime dramas. Abhors Lifetime Movies and Titanic (especially Leo…) and refuses to read or write about sparkly teen vampires.
She’s married to a cop she strongly suspects is a vampire. They’ve made vampire babies, too.
They live in Indiana with their vampire relatives and their vampire dogs.
Running is book six in the PAVAD: FBI Prevention & Analysis of Violent Acts Division series by Calle J. Brookes. Seth Lorcan's latest undercover case made him a target. Seth needs to work quickly to ensure the information is given to the FBI before the bad guys obtain the information. Seth sees the opportunity and seizes Alessandra Brockman outside the PAVAD offices. However, he should have considered Alessandra Brockman's personality and the team at PAVAD. The readers of Running will continue to follow Seth Lorcan and Alessandra Brockman to discover what happens.
I enjoy reading books in this series, and Running did not disappoint. Running is a fantastic addition to this excellent series by Calle J. Brookes. I engaged with the story and the characters from the first page. I love Calle J. Brookes's portrayal of her characters and their interaction with each other. Running is well-written and researched by Calle J. Brookes. I like Calle J. Brookes's description of the settings of Running, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.
The readers of Running will learn about law enforcement corruption and working undercover. Also, the readers of Running will understand the problems that families have when children are separated after their parents are divorced.
Oh, she did not go there! Oh, yes, she really did!
There is more than one Lorcan? Holy Mother Mary!!! Total HOTNESS alert!! Sound the fire alarm.....oh wait, we already did!
Someone is after him....they are setting him up. He needs a car, Carrie's will do, but he has no clue who she is.....or her blonde headed friend.
Al is pissed at him, but she has the need to help him.....but only because of being friends with one of his TRIPLET'S! Yes, you heard that right!
So, who is out for him and willing to hurt Al in the process?
I love how they went from wanting to hurt each other to being each other's trusted friend to co conspirators to bring the enemy down. But, are they ready for who the enemy actually is?
A book of surprises. Seth, known as the Ghost, wakes up locked in the trunk of an FBI vehicle located at PAVAD'S headquarters. In order to escape and survive, he kidnaps two women within the garage. Here begins the start of an intense and suspenseful adventure trying to stay alive as two of them search for information and identity of the traitors located within his Team and F B I Headquarters.
I couldn't put this one down. The added snark of Sebastian's brother Seth at first put me off a bit but as I read on and his character develops you can see his true intentions. Non-stop suspense involving not only Alessandra but past characters introduced in earlier books as well. I believe you could read this as a standalone but reading the others, highly recommended.
Very good series, interesting plots. Allesandra and Seth are funny but flawed. Hope in the coming books to find out why the triplets were separated. (Was only touched on it briefly in this book). Seth “kiddnaps” Allesandra and they are on the run from the bad guys (and good guy). Good fast read just didn’t want to put it down.
Definitely not one of my fave of the series thus far. I didn't like either of the main characters, Al or Seth, at all. They were both annoying and unlikeable. About halfway through the book, I couldn't care less what happened to either one of them or whether or not they got together. I simply finished the book so that I could move onto the next book of the series.
Calle J Brookes does great interconnected high suspense romance! This work in the PAVID FIB Romantic Suspense Series is another excellent book. The action and suspense keeps the reader fully engaged. Characters are great, especially flirty Seth, and the attraction are so fun. Great crossover!
I have read her whole series so far and they are great. I recommend them highly.. The stories are suspenseful and the family dynamics are a pleasure to read. You care about the families. Try them and enjoy.
The book was okay. As with most series, it is hard to make them all not sound the same after a while. There wasn’t a lot of action in this story so it was hard to keep reading it but because it is short it was an alright read.
I loved Al in this series, and I was very disappointed by her story. I don't like Seth very much (he's cocky, arrogant, and condescending), so I didn't find their romance very believable. I did like Carrie's reappearance, though, and that she knew secrets no one else did.
Another excellent book as alwags. I couldn't put this down and read it in one day. Al and Seth are amazing. I never saw Seth's story coming to this intensity.
I can’t put these books down, they’re addicting! Great writing! I do wish they had a faith edge to them though, since I did find the series under Christian Mystery & Suspense.
Throughly enjoyed introduction to the remaining Lorca’s brothers. Can’t wait to read Sinclair’s story. This book is an easy read and storyline flows smoothly.
This book is a romantic suspense novel about Seth Lorcan and Alessandra "Al" Brockman getting together with each other. This book is a great story. HEA
Two great characters, who are tough yet vulnerable; one strong and engaging storyline; and another PAVAD novel that will keep you reading straight through.
Alessandra hasn't been my favourite character in the previous books but I found I liked her a lot more than I realised in this one. And Sebastian's brother! Seth was awesome - my biggest complaint was their freaking names. Did they all have to start with a 's'? It sounds minor but something about the names just shorted my brain every time I read it. Sin was better but still annoying.
Seth kidnapping Carrie and Al was hysterical. I kept wanting a confrontation - I mean there was one, but I would've liked the girls to call him out rather than him to call them out. I mean how do you accidentally kidnap your brother's wife? Lol.
The plot was alright. The mystery was fast paced and action packed. I felt a bit lost at points - I'm not sure if the background info just wasn't provided or if I just didn't process it properly but it felt a bit untethered. I enjoyed the romance between Seth and Al though. The banter between them was snarky and had me chuckling. I didn't like the waffling towards the end about should I, shouldn't I and debating whether or not to stick around. But it wasn't a huge part of the book. I did want to see more scenes where they shared more conversation and feelings but overall it was a fun read.
3.5 stars, rounded up to 4. It's honestly probably not quite good enough for 4 stars but I really enjoyed it regardless of any problems it had, so 4 it is.
Seth, poor Seth never saw it coming and now he's having to deal with the weird and totally awkward situation he finds himself in. And it's all down hill from there. All Alessandra wants is to go home however that's not in the cards. Now their on a collision course with danger, and an electrifying attraction.
