新條まゆ in Japanese Mayu Shinjo debuted in 1994 in Shogakukan's Shōjo Comic with "Anata no Iro ni Somaritai". She continued writing for Shogakukan until 2007, with her works appearing in both Shōjo Comic and their other magazine Cheese!. She left the company to go freelance citing a dispute over working conditions and abusive treatment by her editor.
and I am once again finished with this ridiculous series. I still enjoyed parts of it, I'm not going to lie - it's entertaining smut. However, it is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally problematic. And the handling of sexual assault is super, super cringe-worthy and just plain bad.
But if u can gloss over the problematic aspects and if u just want some smut with some nice visuals, u might enjoy this series.
I absolutely loved this series and read it during my teen years. It's one of Mayu's least erotic mangas. However, one thing that absolutely annoys me about the author is that 90%-100% of her shoujo manga has an abusive hero (or also abusive hero), that is controlling. Yeah, I find it hot but it can get annoying. Furthermore, another reoccurring thing she likes to do is RAPE. E.g. OM is obsessed with heroine, try's to abduct and almost, or successfully RAPES her.
I heard she won't be doing anymore shoujo manga and will be concentrating on yaoi. :( .. I love Yaoi but I need shoujo from Mayu Shinjo too!
I'm not sure if this is the right volume, but there are a few chapters in here that are really...brutal. It's either this volume or the one before. But this is a warning. After this is a mature manga and it does require a ready mind.
I loved the ups and downs of this series. I didn't expect the last volume to be so rushed, it felt like the author was just going through the motions. All in all though I still love this series.
