Enjoyed this little book. I’ve been trying to improve my Spanish by reading the short familiar stories and these have both English and Spanish on the same page.
I’ve had my granddaughter read the English then I would read the Spanish. It was fun.

Rapunzel ~ Rapunzel is a Bilingual adaptation book written by Francesc Bofill and illustrated by Joma. This book was published in the US in 2006 by Chronicle Books LLC but originally published in 1998 in Catalan, La Galera Editorial. This book has a version of the classic story of Rapunzel.
I found this book at my school library and it is located in local libraries as well as Walmart or amazon.
I recommend this book for ages 2nd grade and up. Students can practice reading in both languages. This book is in English and Spanish. On the left side there is English on top and Spanish on the bottom. The illustrations are on the right side. The illustrations capture a great image for you to follow along. I do think the illustrations could've been improved a little just because they seem simple.
The story begins with a couple who wanted to have a baby but couldn't. The woman began craving radishes from a witch’s garden nearby so her husband went to get them. This leads into making a deal to give up the baby if they have one (Rapunzel) to the witch in exchange. Of course Rapunzel was born and was taken away. Prince fell in love and the witch found out so she sent Rapunzel away. Prince fell off the tower and lost his eyesight and till he found Rapunzel he got the love and eyesight back.
I'll introduce the story when we begin our small unit of fairy tales and traditional literature. It will be fun hearing different versions of the fairytale we know.

This book was really great, and it didn't stray much from the original Rapunzel. The illustrations were also great, and they really pull you into the story and complement the text very well. This book is great for children, as it isn't scary and has a cheerful ending. Another great thing is the fact that the book is bilingual, I loved that.
