Wild Hearts is the second book in the Forever Wild Serial. (This is a six part series with one book releasing every 3 weeks)

Going back to Chicago with her accidental husband should have been torture for Valerie. But when Wes has her bent over the first class bathroom sink, torture is the last thing on her mind.

After landing back in Chicago reality sets in. So does the glaring eye of her roommate, and her former friends with benefits, Max, who seems to be a lot friendlier since Wes came in the picture.

After a meeting with a divorce lawyer, Valerie and Wes find out that they have thirty days for both of them to sign the papers, ending their quickie marriage.

But Valerie doesn’t know if she wants to move on or forever stay Mrs. Wild.

Please know that this is the second in a serial. It picks up EXACTLY where One Wild Night ends so you MUST read that one first for this one to make any sense.

Wes has won my heart in this one. He just seems so sweet, totally opposite of what I would have expected from a Vegas stripper. In book 1, you get the impression there is more to his story, but you don't get any hints as to what that story is in this book. That alone is enough to keep me reading.

From the beginning, I get the impression that Wes is more into their relationship than Val. In this book, Val is beginning to realize that maybe there was something more between them that led them to the wedding chapel.

Oh, then there's Max, Val's sex buddy (I can't call him friends with benefits because they would actually have to interact outside of midnight romps in bed and I get the impression that didn't happen). He comes to her in the middle of the night only to have Wes answer the door. I don't care that he's a millionaire or that he's sexy or even good in bed. He treated her like a dirty little secret, not taking her out, not talking to her in public, not telling anyone about their relationship. He does NOT deserve her. I'm sure he's going to cause trouble. After all, after that first interaction with Wes, he called her, met her for coffee/breakfast, and asked her out for dinner, something he had NEVER done before. All because she isn't available. What a jerk. Val deserves better, heck, anyone deserves better.

I'll be counting the days until the next in the serial is released (according to the author, about 3 weeks).

I was provided an ARC of this book by the author as part of a release day event for my blog.

In episode 2 of “So, I Married a Vegas Stripper…”, Wes and Val are on their way back to Chicago to get this divorce rolling. While on the plane, and after joining the “Mile High Club”, Val makes a startling discovery – could she actually be developing real feelings for Wes? Surely not, best to get those feelings under control. He’s a stripper, she’s a curvy girl, and guys only go after her for an easy lay, so “Wild Wes” Cockrell couldn’t possibly be into her. But as long as they’re married, she’ll take advantage of the great sex…

Then we meet Max – the hot multi-millionaire who has been Val’s late night hookup for a while, but the relationship has never made it outside of the bedroom. After a run-in with Wes, the middle of the night texts from Max become middle of the day coffee dates. Could Max really be interested in Val for more than a booty call? Or is he just jealous because he can’t get it anymore? Wes and Val learn they are stuck married for at least another 30 days. Will they go through with the divorce, or will more feelings develop in those 30 days? Find out next time…

I swear the Forever Wild series is like my new favorite TV show, I can’t wait to find out what happens! At this point it could still go either way, but I love Val, and Wild Wes is working his way into my heart, so I hope it works out for those two. Come on, Magan, we need more!

Wild Hearts by Magan Vernon is the second book in the Forever Wild series.

Valerie and Wes are on he plane heading back from Vegas to Chicago. Wes is the lucky sonofagun flying first class while poor Val is stuck in coach. What's that Wes? The mile-high club? ooh, yes please. Apparently the bathrooms are much bigger in first class (I didn't know that).

Valerie keeps dithering over wether she wants Wes or wants the divorce. It's clear to me (the reader) that he likes her and is just fine with staying married, but for how long? If Valerie keeps pushing the divorce and how much of a mistake they made Wes may just cut his losses and give up on Val.

Throw in Paige the not-so-pleasant roommate and Max the friend-with-benefits that is sexting Val for a booty call and it makes for a very interesting installment.

Very eager for the next book.

Like the first part, Wild Hearts is also wild, hot and a short tease.

Val and Wes´s story continues. They are in Chicago and they had a meeting with the divorce lawyer.

They have thirty days for both of them to sign the divorce papers.

Looking forward for the next part to see what will happen.

Chronique de Diana :

https://followthereader2016.wordpress...

Book Launch on my blog Dicember 26th
Review + Except + Giveaway
http://pleaseanotherbook.tumblr.com/p...

Okay, first, the DISCLAIMER.

This review is for WILD HEARTS, which is book two in the FOREVER WILD series.

So, needless to say, this review may contain spoilers for the previous book.

Now, carrying on.

For a quick recap of the last book --- Valerie, a semi-respectable PR rep, went to Vegas, got drunk, and married a sexy, muscular stripper, named Wes, then decided to initiate a divorce, despite being intensely attracted to his sexy, muscular stripper body.

Well, book two starts out with Valerie and Wes joining the mile high club, getting a little raunchy in the bathroom of an airplane -- and, I can't really elaborate on the details of the sex scene, because I usually flip ahead through those parts. (Why, you may ask, do you even read the sexy time books if you skip the sexiest parts of all? Good question. I'll get back to you on that one...)

Anyways, Valerie decides, in the bathroom of an airplane, that she really has feelings for her Vegas stripper, but she protests that it's really not all about the sex. Oh, and then she goes on and on for a while about how magnificent the sex is -- but, remember, that's really not what it's all about to her.

Wes, on the other hand, is almost alarmingly comfortable with this little marriage scenario, which makes me wonder if he may have done the drunken marriage things several times before in the past. He continues to express how much he adores Valerie, while Valerie responds by implying that Wes is just a dirty stripper who picked up the first random guy he found in Vegas. Nevermind that Valerie apparently did the exact same thing....

Our little judgmental diva spends several pages reminding us that Wes is just a stripper and is definitely not a suitable man for someone of her caliber to marry. Wes, who at this point seems a few crayons short of the Crayola box, tells Valerie that he adores her, not only because she is pretty and smart, but because she doesn't insult people and act as if she is better than them...

So, then, Valerie's self proclaimed "fuck buddy" -- a multi-millionaire named Max -- tries to come and hook up with Valerie, and is shocked to see a stripper in bed beside her. Valerie disdainfully wonders if Wes is just hooking up with her because he thinks she has money, despite the fact that she has been doing the same for years. Max decides he wants a relationship, but Valerie can't stop thinking of the lowly stripper with the sexy body.

Wes and Valerie initiate the divorce procedures, only to learn that they will be married for six more months while waiting for everything to process. Valerie is, as always, very confused about herself and her feelings for these two men, which leads us to Book Three, which I will likely review next.

My thoughts? Wes is a pushover, Max is a bully, and Valerie is awfully full of herself, for a girl who drunkenly married a stripper in Vegas. But, aside from the brief raunchy parts, I think I enjoyed this enough to carry on to the next book -- to see what happens between Wes and Valerie.... (which, duh, I'm sure we all know how this will end...)

I was so excited when I won an ARC of this novella from the author! I was really excited to read it because I completely adored the first one, so I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen in this one! The plot of this novella continues on from where the last novella left off at! I loved the plot's development in this novella and I definitely think that it developed brilliantly and at a really good pace! I completely loved it! The plot of this series so far has been a really fun plot, but it has had some serious points in it as well, which is amazing! The relationship between the two main characters starts to heat up in this novella as well! There were also some really hot scenes for it being a novella and for being so short! I just loved the sexual tension between the two main characters, Valerie and Wes! It was smoking and I loved that it started to develop further from the first novella! The characters were again amazing! This novella was told from Valerie's point of view just like the first novella was! I saw a bit of a softer side to Valerie in this novella as she tried to come to terms with how she felt for her love interest, Wes! I could see her struggling with her feelings as they grew for Wes, but she was stubborn about them, as she thought that guys like Wes didn't go for curvy girls like her and that he was a typical stripper with the kind of girls he went for! Wes totally proved her wrong though! I've also noticed that Valerie gives off the impression that she's really confident, but inside, she's worried about the way she looks and she worries about the way people are going to perceive her! I personally think she's gorgeous and I loved that Wes told her this and also showed her this plenty of times ;) Wes in this novella was amazing! I love his sarcasm with Valerie and I have a sneaky suspicion that he feels the same way about Valerie as she feels about him! I just wish that they would tell each other! Wes also had a more vulnerable side to him in this novella and I know that the next novella is going to be from his point of view, so I'm looking forward to seeing if the author tells us more about his background and such! I, for one, am really interested in getting to know more about Wes and I can't wait to get inside his head! I also enjoyed that a new character was introduced in this novella that shook things up! Max was introduced and he was Valerie's hook-up when she was single, so sparks flew a bit when he was introduced! I also think that Max is going to play a bigger role in the next novellas! Again, I'm desperate for the next novella in this series, but I'm really happy that I don't have to wait too long for it! I think I'm going to be desperate for every novella in this series as they're amazing and so entertaining! The cover for this novella is stunning! It suits the first novella's cover perfectly and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! Big thank you to Magan for an ARC of Wild Hearts!

This is series just keeps getting better and better and I’m loving every minute of it. So things pick up in Wild Hearts rights where things left off in One Wild Night. After waking up from a drunken stupor Valerie finds out that she is now the proud wife of now ex stripper Wes. I’m sure in a few years and many a few drinks the story of how they met can make not only an enjoyable story, but funny too.

Valerie is a woman on a serious mission to getting a divorce, but the more she spends time with Wes the more she questions her discussion to let him. I’m even starting to question her decision to let him go. Wes has a charming way of growing on you, its the subtle that you don’t realize you've fallen for him until you’re in too deep.

I adore the way he looks and treats Valarie if he is playing mind games then he is very good at what he does. He’s nothing like the douche that Valerie continues to sleep with. I’m hoping these next few weeks go by very quickly because the third installment is from Wes’s POV I’m itching to get inside his head.

After a drunken, quickie wedding in Vegas, Valerie's new husband Wes returns with her to Chicago, where they plan on getting the fastest, easiest divorce possible.  After all, isn't that what you do when you accidentally marry a stripper while on a business trip?

Only now that they're back to reality, things don't seem quite so simple.  Sure, he had her non-existent big salary in mind when he said, "I do," thinking she was his ticket to a more financially stable life.  And she... Well, she's not sure what she was thinking, but she's pretty sure it was all about his body, thanks to so many drinks that the whole night is a rather hazy memory.  But for the first time she can remember, she's waking up next to someone, not alone after someone she hooked up with sneaked out in the middle of the night.  And he treats her like he cares, really cares about her, not just getting laid.

What do you do when you don't really know the man you married, but you find yourself falling for him?

But... I don't think I like this serialized novel thing.  Granted, this is my first experience with one, but having to wait for a whole series of books just to get the full story isn't sitting too well with me right now.  Probably because I'm dying to know what happens next.  But I still just don't understand the point.  While regular book series certainly keep me engaged, they also give me a full story each time, enough that I'll want to buy the next book in the series just because I don't want it to end.  But with the serialized novel, it feels more like it hasn't even really started.  What I've read so far, I've thoroughly enjoyed, and at this juncture, I'd even venture to say that were it all published as a single book, I'd be giving it 5 stars.  Right now, though, I'm still wallowing in the disappointment of starting a story without being able to finish it.  Oh, and the editing isn't as bad this time around, either, but still... Somewhere in the grammarverse, forgotten commas are huddled together and crying.

Despite the disappointingly short length, it's still a good story -- so far.  Valerie strikes me as a very realistic character.  A bit on the heavy side, she carries lots of insecurities, but she's strong at heart and quick to stand up for herself when she feels like Max (a friend with benefits) is using her.  Wes is growing on me, too.  He was kind of douchy in the last book, though it was so short that I hoped there would be more flattering development later on.  And sure enough, he's kind of turning into a southern sweetheart.  I'm not too keen on waiting for several more books to see how it all turns out, but unless things veer way off course later in the series, I think it still makes for a sweet story and a fun read -- assuming you have a shred of patience.

REVIEW:
The story:
The 2nd episode picks up right where the 1st one left off, with Wes and Val traveling back home to stay in her apartment. Val's plan is to get a quickie divorce and pretend this little mistake never happened. However there is one big flaw in this plan and his name is Wes. Val is starting to find it hard to resist his charm and although she can't see a relationship ever working between them, she just can't stay away. Wes continues with his reluctance to get a divorce, believing that they could actual try and make the marriage work, especially after learning that a divorce isn't going to be as easy as they first thought.

The characters:
I felt like we get to see a glimpse of a more vulnerable side to Wes. It's obvious that he is attracted to Val, well obvious to everyone except Val. I really want to see more of his sensitive side, which is a real contrast to his confident exterior.

Val is so insecure about her weight and looks it makes me sad. She ha such a vibrant personality, I just hated seeing her put herself down. I hope we get to see her grow in confidence of the next few installments - hopefully with the help of Wes ;)

New character Max is also introduced - Val's friend with benefits. He's basically that douche that calls her at 2am looking for a booty call, but won't commit to anything more with her. That is until he sees her with Wes. Yes Max is the I-Don't-Want-Her-Until-Someone-Else-Tries-To-Take-Her - I hate him!!

The romance:
Wes and Val have already shared a few sexy times together, so it's clear that there is an attraction, however Val continues to believe that someone like Wes would never end up with a girl like her. Sadly she actually sees herself only worthy of someone like Max. But I'm sure that Wes can convince her otherwise...

The Writing:
I enjoyed Wild Hearts even more than the first one. Now that the story and characters have been established, the story progressed much quicker and has me super excited to read the next one!

FINAL WORD:
I really enjoyed seeing the relationship between Val & Wes develop further, and the attraction between them is much more believable now that they have spent some time together. I can't wait to see how things eventuate!

CONTENT:
Sexuality: strong / sex scenes
Violence: none
Language: medium / some f words
Drugs & alcohol: medium

I have to say, I wasn't totally sure about Wes after reading the first volume in this series, especially when he admitted to initially looking for a sugar momma in Valerie. His intention was to use her for her money to get to LA and break into the music scene. Of course then he found out she didn't have any money but he still seemed to have a kind of attachment to her. So basically I wasn't sure how I felt about him, I hated the thought if him being the type of person to use a woman like that but on the other hand, there was something about him that I found likeable, he didn't come across as a bad person which seemed at odds with his initial intentions.
In this volume Wes has come back to Chicago with Valerie so they can both file for divorce. He has nowhere else to go so is staying with her in the apartment she shares with her flatmate Paige, who is a complete b*tch, by the way. Now back home, there is another man on the scene. Max, Valerie's long-standing f*ck buddy who has never before wanted anything more than random hook-ups at her house, has never wanted to date her publicly, now all of a sudden is intimating he wants more. I already hate him. He's a douch.
Valerie has started to develop feelings for Wes, will she speak up and tell him or let her sensible side rule and precede with the divorce? I'm definitely more hooked into this series after this installment, Wes is rapidly growing on me and I find myself cheering in his corner.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It's a good thing we don't have to wait months between these serials. I needed this one the moment book one finished.

Wild Hearts picks up right where book one, One Wild Night left off. We get to see more of married Wes and Val and just how great they are together, despite Val's hesitance. Wes and Val end up in Val's small apartment while they try to sort out the divorce. However, feelings come to surface in this one. Wes is pretty obvious, while Val does all she can to not believe that she may actually have strong feelings for her new husband Wes.

Valerie's past comes back to haunt her relationship with Wes in the form of a former err FWB, Max. Max never really wanted to be with Val. He enjoyed her sexually and would visit her late at night. Now that he sees another man take interest, like her husband, Wes, he is also intrigued and wants her to himself for real.

I absolutely adore Wes. His accent, his body, his everything. He is funny and charming. He is so different than the guys in books lately. He is real, genuine, and swoon worthy. I didn't love Wes then, I love him now! This story continues to be funny, sexy, and romantic.

As predicted, the Forever Wild series only got better with the second novella, Wild Hearts. If you haven’t started this series yet, you might want to check out my review of the first book - One Wild Night .

In Wild Hearts, Valerie and Wes fly back to Chicago together. Wes moves in with Valerie–and shares her bed–while they get the ball rolling on divorce proceedings. Although her roommate Paige is none too happy about their new living arrangements, that goes double for Max, Val’s friend with benefits who likes to come around in the middle of the night for a booty call. Even though they are in the beginning stages of filing for divorce, Val starts to have conflicting feelings about Wes. She begins to sees something in him that makes her question whether he might not have true feelings for her after all.

Eek! I really liked this second installment of Forever Wild. I have the same gripes as in my last review (of Forever Wild 1). I really love Valerie's personality. She seems so sure of herself (personality wise) and yet so unsure of her body and why men would want to be her (given her weight and prior experience with men). It fits in perfectly with today's society, where women frequently feel at odds with themselves, their life vs their body. I definitely get the sleaze impression from Max, and am interested in seeing how she deals with him moving forward. I absolutely love Wes (though the darlin' thing annoys the hell out of me). He seems to so sweet. But I can't wait to read the book in his POV (#3) because it sounds like we learn what really happened on his end.
This reminds me though of some of the movies out there right now, where the couple ends up falling for one another and the ex is now interested because she is with someone else. But nonetheless, I like this series will certainly keep reading!

I love this series so far! Wes and Valerie are back in Chicago, and Valerie is finding it harder and harder to fight what she is starting to feel for Wes. She doesn't trust him or herself. Doesn't help that her friends are not welcoming. Or that Adam- f%^& buddy extraordinaire-is trying to get in the picture. Acting jealous he confuses Valerie even more. But I don't like him. I think he is playing a game- and doesn't want to lose- especially to a stripper cowboy.

After the lawyer visit does not go as planned the two of them have some decisions to make. I want Valerie to stop putting herself down and listen to her heart. And to what Wes is ACTUALLY saying- not what she THINKS he means! And Wes can just continue to be himself-maybe get a job and show that he's serious. And Adam can jump off a bridge!

The next installment of the Forever Wild series is from Wes's POV! YAY!

Wild Hearts starts out with a bang! Literally! Then Valerie has a realization, but all too quickly she and Wes are back in the real world. They arrive at her apartment, she lays down some ground rules, and the next morning is their appointment with the divorce lawyer. Things should go smoothly now, right? Wrong!

Wild Hearts was a great part two! It begins the conflict! Valerie was sure her marriage was a mistake and wants it taken care of as soon as possible, but Wes really isn't so bad. He certainly treats her much better than other men have. Including one guy who turns up and throws a wrench in her plans. I think it's fairly obvious that nothing is going to go anywhere with him, but I am curious how Valerie deals with her budding feelings for her husband.

Wild Hearts is the next installment in the Forever Wild serial and picks up right where One Wild Night left off. I wasn't a fan of the first story, but since it is very hard to judge a book based on the first 40 pages alone, I decided to give the next 50 pages a chance. While I did enjoy this section a little bit more, I still feel the same way about the two characters Valerie and Wes. I just think they are both idiots. But I have to say, I am starting to warm up to the two of them being together. I just wish I knew more about Wes and what he is thinking. With that being said, I am very excited for the next episode, The Wild One which is told entirely in Wes' POV. Finally (well, hopefully) some answers!

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review

In the second part of the Forever Wild serial, things are looking better for Val and Wes.

Wild Hearts picks up right where One Wild Night left off. Wes has no choice but to live in Val and Paige's apartment. We get to see the oh so fun interactions between Val, Wes, and the ray of sunshine Paige.

I really enjoyed this part of the serial. I got to see the sweet side of Wes that I was waiting for. Not only that, but there was some drama thrown in this one in the form of Val's friend with benefits? Sex buddy?, Max. He's a total ass who only used Val for sex, but now that he sees Val is with someone, he wants more.

I'm enjoying Val and Wes' s story and can't wait for the next part in the serial.

In Wild Hearts, we find Val and Wes enjoying the benefits of being married (hello Mile High Club first class) but as soon as they reach terra firma it seems divorce was still in the cards. Here Wes gets to see how Val lives, from a roommate who may or may not be from bitch hell to Val's sleazy fuck buddy, he suddenly wants to just be with Val but also realizes he has nothing worthwhile to offer. Val on the other hand is starting to show some feelings for Wes and has second thoughts about the divorce. Wild Hearts will definitely keep the readers interest in trying to find out what happens next to our young lovers. In the meantime the honeymoon will continue.

After reading book 1 of this series, I dove into the second one chomping at the bit wondering what was going to happen. I love the addition of this 'triangle' with the character max. Every girl wants two guys after her, right?

I, personally, like these novella series type books. I read a bit slower than your average bear due to my busy lifestyle, so they don't feel overwhelming like a novel does. Additionally, I am big into cliffhangers (that's why I watch certain TV shows, because of the excitement and anticipation of what will happen 'next time'). So, if you are like me, you will definitely like this book.

Ok okay so I'm seriously not sure how i feel about this series. i thought it would be interesting but i'm not sure i'm going to be able to make it through it.

Valerie is so full of her self and extremely judgmental. So far she just keeps telling Wes he's just a stripper and acts like he is below her Accuses him of being with her only for her money...which she does not have....uhm hello pot meet kettle...she is sleeping with a multi-millionaire on the sly for over six months. how are you any better?

Then lets laugh about how Wes is just so freaking casual about everything I'm sure i'll keep going hoping it redeems itself but so far i'm not impressed.

Book 2 in the series.

Valerie and Wes are now married and Valerie has to heard back to her life in Chicago. Wes decides to come with her.

Val is thinking they need to get a divorce.. I really like them together. They are cute and seem to work in a crazy way. Wes is weary about getting divorced. Not because Val is the sugar momma her thought she was going to be, but because he is starting to have feelings for her... dare we say .... love?!?!?!?!?

I am holding my breath for the next in the series.

Picks up right where episode #1 ended and immediately brings the heat. Valerie gets inducted into the Mile High club and it's a turning point for her.

"We both stood there, breathing and making eye contact at our reflection in the mirror. That was the moment I knew I fell for my stripper husband."

When they arrive back in Chicago they have to deal with Val's bitchy roommate, her smarmy late-night booty caller and a 30 day obstacle in the way of divorce.

We finally get a glimpse into the real Wes and I'm slowly and surely starting to root for him. Bring on episode #3!!!

4 Stars all for Wes

I like how the book picks up right where the lady one finished. It moved seamlessly. Wes is such a major sweetheart and Val is still annoying and bitchy. I can't help but feel bad for Wes. Now Max is a douche and Val is stupid to even talk to him. I really hope Val gets her head out of her ass soon, cuz she could really ruin this book experience. Looking forward to the next book.

I am glad I am late coming into the series as each book I finish makes me want to buy the next one to read. I don't like how it has been broken up into little books and would have preferred paying full price for a complete book, that being said I am still going to buy the rest of this series.
This was a short, quick read and that fact that is only a very small part of the series and not a bigger book means I'm marking this as a 3.5 star instead of 4.
