About the author

Sometimes called the "godmother" of the Animal Reiki movement, Kathleen Prasad is the global leader in the profession. She is founder of Animal Reiki Source, which offers the world's first extensive and specialized curriculum and training program in animal Reiki. Kathleen's teachings are highly regarded by animal lovers, veterinarians, animal care professionals, as well as shelter and sanctuary staff and volunteers around the world.

She is also cofounder and president of the Shelter Animal Reiki Association (SARA), the first nonprofit of its kind, promoting the use of Reiki meditation in animal shelters, sanctuaries and rescues worldwide. Wonderful instructions on the basics of Reiki for animals. I had read mixed reviews before buying this book. I find the author writes from her true passion and love for dogs. Her tone is as gentle as the methods she teaches. I will be using this book as a reference in the months ahead.

Very good book. Kathleen starts off with a quick refresh on reiki. Then goes into gaining trust of the dog. She shows hand placements. She tells you how to know when the dog has had enough. Then there are case studies showing how reiki has helped dogs.

This was an easy to read book with a really interesting perspective on Reiki. It gave me insight into my own experiences in giving Reiki to dogs and provided a good deal of helpful ideas. I enjoyed reading the many case studies form other practitioners and hearing how Reiki has had such a positive affect on so many animals and people! This was an inspiring and helpful book.
