Great Book! A real page turner! I couldn't put it down. Kind of reminded me of Richard Laymon's Beast House! Enjoy!!

This was a really great book. While I thought some of the characters and backstory were a bit unnecessary (Elias/Jessica?), the main premise of this story really had me going "what the hell?" pretty much from beginning to end. I enjoyed this one greatly, and would be happy to read more by this author!

Only one star
I'm not sure I should of given it that, I read two thirds and I just couldn't,t finish it. It started out okay, but quickly lost interest.there wasn't,t a lot of substance to it, the more I read it,the worse it got. Not a good book to read. Some freak of nature living under the tunnels of the house. Wanted a friend, but instead of friends kept killing everybody that ventured near the tunnels.total waste of time reading as much as I did

Scary fast read couldn't put it down.
I read this book in one day. It moved along quickly keeping my interest. I normally don't read scary books but thought I would try it. This story was a page Turner right from the start.

Great book! Had me nervous about nightmares of houses with underground tunnels and strange people running amuck. Worth the read!

Scary and Gruesome
The development of the characters was very good and the plot was fast paced. I liked the way it ended with the next generation on a high note. I would recommend this book to any reader who likes a very scary story with lots of thrills and chills.

A decent story, to me it felt like there was just a little too much going on, too many characters and it would have been better tightened up a bit. As it is there wasn't any creepiness at all, just a bunch of slicing and dicing which is a bummer.

This book was the typical scary type book with deformed children and the horrors surrounding their life. I enjoyed reading this book as I enjoy horror and or mystery type books. The book was well written and drew the reader into it easily and was hard to put down once the story line got interesting. I would recommend this book to those that like to read scary type books but would not recommend to young readers as it may provoke nightmares.

This is a wonderfully frightening book! This book was thoroughly enjoyable. I loved how the story is told from different characters points of view. The mystery is fantastic. It throws a curve ball that adds another dimension to the story. The "child" in the story is great, you even get into its mind. Very well done, I had a hard time putting it down.

A creepy read...with blood
Makes a good creepy book to read at night..just scary enough....but a little violent, so if you can't handle blood and gore...don't start this one.
It's not as mystery as I like...a whodunit, that keeps you guessing, but it should keep you interested..and a little spooked.

Outstanding creepy, scary haunted house story with twists and turns. What some authors claim, Richard Simms delivers. Good gore! And you actually feel for the antagonist. I'd be interested to know if Simms based this on a very old One Step Beyond episode from the 1950s supposedly based on a "true story."

Quick read. finished it in less than two days. There were lots of characters and the story was told from all their points of view, but it didn't muddle up the story. I loved how it got right into the creepiness. There was no long build up and action at the end.

3.2 stars. Pretty creepy, with pretty obvious Stephen King influence in the writing style. Some gaps, & a few things toward the end didn't make much sense, but still an enjoyable scary ride.
