Some unsolicited comments sent via email “The first thing I noticed is the great amount of research and facts and how clearly they are presented. The next thing was how it answered so many questions that have puzzled me all my life. I now understand myself and feel better knowing I am not a freak.” “This is an amazing book. I realize my daughter is not sick but needs my help facing the world full of people who didn’t read this book. I still can't believe it took a book for me to understand my own child.” "I want you to know that I have been enjoying reading your book. I appreciate all the work you put into it . . .It's obvious all the research you've done on the book, it's informative, and entertaining." "You cannot imagine how I am enjoying your book. I am so impressed with the amount of research you have done with your book. It has [already] answered some of my questions regarding my gender origins." "[I] am very impressed by the amount of time you must have spent in research. This is some piece of work, . . . . [and] it appears to be easy reading for a very complex subject." "I just finished reading your book and think it is the best I've ever read regarding the transgender issues. It should be a must read for everyone!"
As a transgender activist, Joanne Borden's story is similar to the experiences of many other transgender women. She is the author of the book Transgender Complete: A Virtual Handbook. In an interview, Borden explains, "I studied the transgender 'issue' in every possible facet of life— from immigration to sports. I soon realized I nearly had enough material for a book. At that time, I honestly felt I could help others by providing transgender people and their loved ones with what I had learned so I spent another year writing the book. It now carries a 2015 copyright after being up-dated to January 2015."
This is an excellent book for partners, friends etc looking to understand what transgenderism. It could also be a useful book for a trans person just starting to work through their feelings as well as help them answer some of the questions when you start to come out to friends etc
