This was my first introduction to Michael Roads, an English-born farmer who lives in Australia. His writing is straight-forward and simplistic, and also filled with a lot of joy and warmth.

The book is written as a collection of anecdotes from Roads' life. There are stories from his life as an organic farmer in Australia, childhood in England, communal living, and across different relationships and encounters.

I enjoyed the messages behind the stories about life and the lessons we can learn from it. The writing didn't quite capture me, but it was nice to pick up and read from time to time and gives a picture of Australian life in nature.
