I recently read a children's book that teaches children to dream big dreams. Dream, by Adam Montierth, is a delightful book that will challenge children to think outside the box and to dream impossible dreams. The book encourages kids to set out and accomplish goals even when others may say it can't be done. The book is written in a rhyming prose that children will love. The author uses many examples of animals and people from history who have not given up on their dreams.
In their bicycle shop, brothers Orville and Wilbur Wright dreamed of flying. With imagination, hard work, and determination on December 17th of 1903 at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, their dreams came true with the first controlled human flight.
Many scientists have said that it should be impossible for the bumble bee to fly. This is based on body size and weight compared to the size and shape of their wings. But no one ever told the bees, so they continue to fly.
I think this is a wonderful motivational book for children. The illustrations are colorful and entertaining. Children will learn that dreams can come true if you set your mind to it. Teachers and parents should encourage children to do further research on the examples given in this book. A trip to the library would provide an opportunity to read more about bumble bees, the Wright Brothers and other dreamers mentioned in this book.
This book will provide an opportunity to discuss goals and dreams with your child. "Just remember -- a man without a dream, Is like a bird with a broken wing". May your dreams come true!
I want to thank Mr. Montierth for sending me a digital copy of this book to read and review. It was a real pleasure.
Filled with animal facts that would be interesting to young readers, I really liked this book. The illustrations are great and then shifts to a more concrete them of people accomplishing goals, or capturing there dreams. In the end the book does tie everything together. The book is very verbose though, example: Composition, impossible, mammal, astound, and marvel. These words are not only hard to read for some children but also hard to understand what they mean. I can see it as a great tool for older elementary child expanding there vocabulary and using context clues to figure out what the words are. With this being said the art work and text don't match up, in the way the texts seems higher level than pictures, but I did really like the book.
I think this is a level 3 on the blooms scale, but might be 2. I would have children read through and pick out the specifics in the story that made each animal unique and draw a picture of all those traits. The book states bees wings should make it impossible for them to fly and platypuses are mammals but lay eggs, etc. Children would have to correctly choose the thing that made the animal special and draw it which is fun and great comprehension.

I thought this was a very cute book and a good source of inspiration for children, as well as any grown-up who would actually take the time to read it. Even though it's common sense that we should tell our kids to dream and reach for the stars, it seems to often go unsaid. This book reminds us that we shouldn't lose sight of our dreams and make them into an actuality.
This book is a great children's book about being able to achieve your dreams even through obstacles. This is a book that needs to be in everyone's home!
