2022: a többi Jill Tomlinson-mesét is szeretjük, de nálunk Szuzi az abszolút kedvenc, nyolc- és tizenkét évessel is ♡
2019: változatlanul szupercuki. Azóta már a Kicsi lesz mindjárt ötéves, és most teljes figyelemmel drukkolta végig Szuzi kalandjait. Felolvasni is élmény, mert az embereken + mesélőn kívül van két könnyen elkülöníthető, jópofa karakter: a cica és a papagáj. De hogy képesek voltak háromszor leírni így, hogy folyósón! Háromszor. Ez nem egy nehéz szó. Háromszor. Szégyellje magát mindenki, akinek köze van az esethez.
2016:
Ohó, úgy látom, új kedvencünk lesz! Szuper kedves, szerethető, nem gügyögő, sőt! Kapásból megtanulta az öt és fél éves, hogy ‘merci’. Pedig hosszú nap volt, óraátállítós, húsvétolós. Úgy drukkolt végig a cicának!
Jófajta izgalom volt, nem az, ami miatt némelyik könyv nem esti mesének való. Ezt nyugodtan lehet alvás előtt is olvasni. A Kicsi is kedvesen mjaúzott a könyvnek minden este.
Hogy lehet ennyire cukin nyávogni, hogy sémmmoááá (chez moi)? Csak haza akar menni. Azt hiszem, azt az érzést mindenki ismeri. Rögtön a szívünkbe zártuk ezt a cicát, és a szerzőt is. Már csak azt kell eldönteni, melyik legyen a következő. “Orrövoár”, Szuzi!

După ce i-a adus pe Buf, Pongo şi Otto, bufnița Nemi măreşte familia autoarei Jill Tomlinson cu o pisică drăgălaşă şi curajoasă: a sosit clipa să o cunoaştem pe Suzy!
Răsfăţată, iubitoare şi mereu pregătită de joacă, Suzy este o pisicuţă vărgată din Franţa, cu mustăţi albe, ţepene, şi o pereche grozavă de șosetuțe pe lăbuţele din faţă. Ea locuieşte în casa unui pescar şi este alintată de cei patru băieţi ai acestuia, preferatul ei fiind Gaby, cel mai mic dintre fraţi, pentru că el o mângâie invers, de la coadă la cap (poate voi încerca şi eu această metodă când mă întorc acasă).
Viaţa lui Suzy este perfectă, dar, din păcate, căldura o copleșește într-o zi şi adoarme într-un coş foarte mare, care o poartă până în Anglia, departe de familia ei.
„Dar îi era dor de Gaby, care o mângâia mereu în răspăr.”
Nu ştiu dacă există și un „studiu” pe această temă, dar, în timp ce câinii sunt consideraţi animale loiale şi cei mai buni prieteni ai omului, felinele sunt portretizate ca fiind viclene, înşelătoare şi necredincioase. După şapte câini şi patru pisici, nu sunt de acord cu această teorie. Excepţii întotdeauna vor exista, iar Suzy face parte din ultima categorie.
Ea nu vrea să se acomodeze în noua ei locuinţă şi să trăiască în Anglia. Este bine hrănită, are o stăpână blândă şi generoasă, un loc cald unde să doarmă şi nu duce lipsă de prieteni. Însă nu îşi doreşte o familie nouă.

(3.5) Suzy the cat lives in a French seaside village with a fisherman and his family of four sons. One day, she curls up to sleep in a basket only to wake up airborne – it’s a hot air balloon, taking her to England! Here the RSPCA place her with old Auntie Jo, who feeds her well, but Suzy longs to get back home. “Chez-moi” is her constant cry, which everyone thinks is an awfully funny way to say miaow (“She purred in French, [too,] but purring sounds the same all over the world”). Each day she hops into the basket of Auntie Jo’s bike for a ride to town to try a new route over the sea: in a kayak, on a surfboard, paddling alongside a Channel swimmer, and so on. Each attempt fails and she returns to her temporary lodgings: shared with a parrot named Biff and comfortable, yet not quite right. Until one day… This is a sweet little story (a 77-page paperback) for new readers to experience along with a parent, with just enough repetition to be soothing and a reassuring message about the benevolence of strangers. Susan Hellard’s illustrations are charming.

My Six year old baby boy just read this to me. It's the first time he has read a chapter book start to finish - he's a boy so he often reads a chapter of a book then gives up. Super proud Mummy :-)

Una gatita que en un paseo y un descuido termina atravesando El Canal de la Mancha en un globo aerostático: de Francia a Inglaterra. Será bien recibida y mimada, pero Susy lo único que quiere es volver con su familia. Una aventura que nos hace reflexionar en torno a estar en otras tierras, con otro idioma y con gente que puede tenderte una mano pero que aún así el ansía de casa nunca se olvida.

O lectură drăguță și relaxantă numai bună pentru cei mici. M-am bucurat de poveste și am empatizat cu micuța Suzy în fiecare moment, împreună cu verișoara mea mai mică.

This is an enchanting book for young children. Suzy is a delightful character, polite and friendly but also determined and brave. The scrapes that she gets herself into while trying to find a way back to France are highly amusing, even to my 30-year-old self.
It is a little sad and scary at times, as being lost and away from home can be (at any age!) so very young readers might need to be reassured that Suzy does indeed make it back home in the end.
Full of charming drawings and entertaining adventures, this is a delight for children of all ages. 4 stars.

Când am citit prima dată titlu acestei cărți m-am gândit că nu are cum să ajungă o pisică așa de ușor și simplu dintr-o țară în alta, dar, unui copil de 6 ani încă îi poți citi asemenea povești. Ei încă cred în magie :)
Primele 3 cărți mi-au plăcut cu mult mai mult. Băiatului meu i-a plăcut aventura lui Suzy și s-a întristat un pic că a rămas mătușica Jo fără vreo veste de la pisică.
Cu toate astea, cartea e scrisă la mintea copiilor, cu fraze ușoare, cuvintele alese pentru nivelul lor de percepere. Pentru asta nota 10. În rest, mai citim și celelalte și vedem cu ce ne alegem :)

But no matter who she asks; surfers, young boys playing with boats and marines, no one can get Suzy home until a brave man swims the channel!
I had to flick to the back of this book when I began to read it to make sure that Suzy did eventually get home as I found it so sad so maybe warn children first, particularly if they have cats, but other than that a great book.
Superb opportunity to add in some French lessons!

Dacă “Găina care nu voia să renunțe” a fost prima carte scrisă de Jill Tomlinson pe care ați citit-o, atunci “Pisicuța care voia să ajungă acasă” ar fi bine să fie a doua, pentru că există o anumită legătură între aceste cărți. Sau cel puțin așa mi se pare mie, că există o legătură, având în vedere că Sanda (găina) dorește să plece de acasă iar Suzy (pisicuța) dorește să se întoarcă acasă. Oricum, copiii sunt cei care vor decide dacă am dreptate sau nu, eu doar mi-am dat cu părerea, așa cum face cam toată lumea în ziua de azi.
La fel se întâmplă și în carte, aproape toate personajele își dau cu părerea, doar că părerile acestora sunt de foarte multe ori greșite. Papagalul Biff, de exemplu, este de părere că e foarte deștept (doar că nu prea reușește să ne convingă), iar echipajul unui submarin este de părere că pisicuța Suzy se află în proprietatea amiralului (nici pomeneală de așa ceva, bineînțeles). Ce să mai vorbim de mătușica Jo, care e de părere că o pisică trebuie să stea obligatoriu acolo unde o pui, adică în coșuleț, lucru cu care Suzy este în total dezacord.
Așa că sfatul meu pentru cei mici este acela de a urmări cu foarte mare atenție extraordinarele aventuri ale lui Suzy, pisicuța care știe foarte bine cum stau lucrurile și ce are de făcut (sau cel puțin așa are ea impresia) și să citească despre celelalte personaje din carte doar din politețe, pentru ca acestea să nu se supere că nu le bagă nimeni în seamă.
Ar mai fi o precizare de făcut, pentru copiii foarte mici care încă nu au învățat să citească, și anume că “Pisicuța care voia să ajungă acasă”, deși are o mulțime de desene, nu este o carte de colorat. Dar dacă sunteți și voi la fel ca pisicuța Suzy și orice vi se spune degeaba vi se spune, atunci puteți colora liniștiți toată cartea, n-avem ce să facem, asta e.

It’s good because Suzy got two places to live, but one she didn’t live in for long and the person who lived there was a nice woman called Auntie Jo with a pet parakeet called Biff. First, Suzy was at home in her normal home, then got to England where Auntie Jo’s house was. And at the last chapter Suzy was just happy and real home at last. Biff the parakeet repeats everything that anyone says! Suzy’s adventures were really good. Usually, all the time that Suzy goes in Auntie Jo’s tricycle, she jumps out and heads to the beach in a second. It’s so funny.

Un libro divertente e gradevolissimo, è piaciuto a me mentre lo leggevo e ha divertito un sacco mia figlia di 9 anni che mi ascoltava (è stato anche l'occasione per insegnarle qualche parola di francese).
Storia di una educatissima e ostinata gattina francese che si addormenta in un cesto... E si sveglia in volo per l'Inghilterra! Dopo mille "bagnate" peripezie, riuscirà a riattraversare la Manica e farsi riaccarezzare dalla sua famiglia.

Both my 7 yo and 4 yo liked this book. A page turner and we want to find out what happened and how the car eventually got home. We learned about various “transportation”. We looked at the globe to find what’re is France, England, and Channel. A great book for kids.
