What would you do if you could visit Heaven - would you stay, or come back?
Susan Alexander arrives by spirit train at a place called Border Town - a world between the living and the dead.
Waiting for her when she steps onto the platform is her long dead grandmother, Lily Paterson. 'I'm here to help you get rid of your baggage, Suzie. Together, we will wipe away your terrible memories.'
'I don't understand,' Susan replies. 'Why do I have to go through all that pain? I'm here now, none of that matter's anymore.'
'But it does matter, Suzie. It matter's a great deal. Your fear has prevented you from living, from enjoying and accomplishing all the things you deserve.'
Border Town is the story of the baggage we carry through life, our struggle to be free of the past, and the fear that holds us back.

A novel going back and forth between life and not quite death. A millionaire attempt to murder his abused wife and almost succeeded. A great deal of the story is about a man trying to save her and his friends who are trying to save him.
It moves to "Border Town" where the almost dead go and are met by the real dead.
The book itself was interesting but the last two chapters bombed. Again, an author who hasn't quite mastered ending a story.
I read 47% of this and frankly, I have too many books just waiting to be read to continue with this. The author makes it sound as though sources of anxious thoughts and fears can be merely wiped away with a red cloth or blown away and presto it's no longer an issue. That would be amazing huh?
After I finished this story I was just in awe! It's very emotional and the whole story surrounds a tragedy! The characters the writing..is just brilliant ! I was a mess throughout the entire story and the end, is just wow! Have a box of Kleenex ready and handy when you pick this book up! And I I00 percent recommend this amazing story!
I wasn't sure what the story would be like, after reading the description. I really liked the unusual story about what happens to the characters and where they go as the book progresses. It's worth reading.
For those who would like to know what's on the "Other Side" when we cross over, this book tells the story of what it could be like. There are quite a few characters you root for and a couple you'd not like. I took my time reading this because I didn't want it to end.
Author's idea of heaven, love and healing was a bit strange. There were some grammatical errors. It was an okay read, I'm guessing it was trying for a feel good story but it just didn't do it for me.
5 stars given since I am still smiling ...has you remembering we all are on this planet together and that our lives may intertwine - we all die and can only take the love in our hearts with us, material things do not matter. Bravo
