About the author

Adam Blade is the house name for the Working Partners Ltd. ghostwriters who write the Beast Quest and Sea Quest series.

Adam Blade is in his late twenties, and was born in Kent, England. His parents were both history teachers and amateur artists, and Adam grew up surrounded by his father’s paintings of historic English battles – which left a lifelong mark on his imagination. He was also fascinated by the ancient sword and shield that hung in his father’s office. Adam’s father said they were a Blade family heirloom.

As a boy, Adam would spend days imagining who could have first owned the sword and shield. Eventually, he created a character – Tom, the bravest boy warrior of them all. The idea for Beast Quest was born.

When Adam grew up and decided that he wanted to be a writer, he was stuck for ideas – until he remembered the old sword and shield, and the imaginary boy he had created when he was young. Adam decided to bring Tom fully to life so that readers could go on the kind of adventures that he always wanted to when he was that age… And still does, even though he’s grown up!

When he’s not writing Beast Quest books, Adam enjoys visiting museums and ancient battle sites. His main hobbies are fencing and football. He also spends a lot of time at home running around after his two exotic pets – a tarantula named Ziggy, and a capuchin monkey named Omar. These little rascals were the inspiration for two of the Beasts that Tom faces on his Quest – Arachnid and Claw.

Sadly, Adam does not have his own Fire-Dragon or Horse-Man. But he really wishes he did!

Jake's Review: This book is sic (note for fellow old folks -- that is the equivalent of cool, awesome, groovy, etc.) I love these books because there are cool monsters, beasts and bad dudes. I love the character of Silver because he is a wolf and wolves are cool. There was lots of exciting parts and it was never dull like some of the books mom brings me home to review (mom's note: that would be anything Titanic I try to get him to read). I can't wait to read the rest of the series, especially the missing two that mom swears she is going to get for me on Thursday when she goes downtown. This is another book that even my best friend Brian would read and he hates to read.

Mom's Review: Any book that has my kid read non stop is good with me. He opened it up before bed and never put it down. He didn't even beg me to play with his Ipod like he normally does every night now. We had missed the two previous books in the series and he said it was still easy to figure out what was going on. I got the general gist of things even-though I haven't read any of them in a while. I can see why the middle school boy would enjoy. There is tons of action, scary looking beasts, they get to save adults and be on their own, what middle school boy wouldn't dig that. That being said I was mildly entertained by the book as well and didn't want to smack my head on the wall like I do when reading some middle school fiction. Good moral lesson about bravery too but shhh don't tell kids that, than they won't read it.

“Storm!” Shouted Tom, his voice hoarse.

*Snickers* I dunno why, but I laughed so hard at that line. Storm is his horse, and something bad is happening to him, and now Tom’s voice is hoarse, so he's hoarse because his horse –
...
Yeah never mind, I have a really dumb sense of humor. It’s not even funny, I know... Especially what happens to Storm after! :( My heart practically broke there for a second! I'm glad everything ends well though.

This Beast Quest is a pretty scary one, Equinus is like a monster out of a real life nightmare of mine – or something like that anyway. If this book ever became a live action movie, I’d probably wet myself upon seeing him on the big screen. He's that scary.

I really like the part where Equinus turns into his ghostly form and takes the spirit out of Storm. This is one of my favourites from series 4.

Pretty decent book, average beast quest story average book

Equinus the spirit horse is the next beast of amanita tom has to face. This is probably the most deadly beast yet, but Tom says its worth the risk. After he defeats equinus he will have the second piece of the amulet but it comes with a price, tom has to lose one of his powers.
This is one of the not so good beast quest books but that is my opinion.
If you were to read any of these books i would recommend Togor the minitour.
