This is a great book for many things; culture awareness, language development, comparison recognition and arts/crafts. This is my favorite bi-lingual by-far. The simple language and variety of phrases makes it easy to use in any lesson or activity. I would use this book on a daily basis so that the students could work on learning Spanish throughout the entire year, especially if I have some students in the class who's first language is Spanish. This way it can help those students learn Spanish as their peers learn more of their home language.
This is a book great for children to learn. It is guarantee to teach you the language. You will speak a whole new language after reading this. (Note, you will need to take a Spanish class, too.)
Ana Galan does a great job introducing readers to new words in English and Spanish. From body parts to colors to feelings and phrases, the English and Spanish pronunciations are highlighted. The pictures int he text are entertaining, but could be overwhelming for young children (actually, my eyes were a bit overwhelmed).
This picture book has many opposite words in both Spanish and English, with pictures that illustrate each word. It would be a good book to have in Pre-k and possibly kindergarten as students are learning opposites and can identify a few words on their own and with help. This is a great and fun way to learn a few words in Spanish and English.
This is a simple book that has English and Spanish translations. It includes simple words like numbers, body parts, feelings, and even short questions like "What?" and "How are you?" It can be used to help ESL Spanish speaking sutdnts or in any grade level that you would want to incorporate a few spanish words into.
This book was written in Spanish and English. I enjoyed reading this book because I was able to learn words in Spanish, although English is my first language. These book would help students learn Spanish and English. Also they would gain respect for other peoples languages.
The illustrations in this book are wacky and fun. I like how it translates common English words and phrases to Spanish such as up (arriba), down (abajo), and side by side (de lado a lado). Young children can learn and use these words.
-Excellent for building community in the classroom -Teaches words to students who don't no Spanish -Great read at the beginning of the year -I personally really enjoyed reading the book with the different words in Spanish and in English
this is a great book for new students who do not speak English. It translates simple English words into Spanish for easy learning. the pictures are also interesting and crazy so students will enjoy getting to look at the pictures as well!
1). PERFECT FOR INTRODUCING SPANISH IN A FUN , INVITING WAY. I WOULD USE THIS BOOK AS AN INTRODUCTION FOR THE SPANISH UNIT OR LESSON. AFTERWARDS I WOULD SEE IF THE STUDENTS CAN RECALL ANY OF THE SPANISH WORDS.
This book would be great for the ELL students in your classroom. They can see the words in another language as well as in English. They also have the pictures to help guide them. I would also use this to teach my students Spanish as a second language.
This book includes Spanish-English translations. It can be used to help Ells and also to teach the rest of the class some basic Spanish words. I enjoyed it! It could even be incorporated on Cinco de Mayo.
This is a fun book to read especially in a bilingual classroom. There are also a lot of words that are descriptive and movement words that can be used to get them moving during class. The illustrations are fun too!
This is a bi-lingual picture book using Spanish and English as its languages. It can be used for English language learners to teach students some things in Spanish. This book also has great illustrations and can be used for different picture walk activities as well.
This is an amazing multicultural education book! You should practice before reading it so you don't mispronounce any words (esp. if you have Spanish speaking students). Very colorful and interactive!
This is a very cute book. The text is in both English and Spanish. It will be an excellent book to have in the classroom library. It will also be very beneifical to ELL students.
I love this! This is a great read to learn some basic Spanish. I would read this on the first day to foster my student's cultures. Great way to set up a community in the classroom. PreK-5th
This is a cute book that is good for ELL. It contains both English and Spanish words. It translates different sentences. This is just a good book to have on hand.
This book does exactly what the cover does- translates words from English to Spanish. The Spanish words are in white and the English words are in blue. The illustrations are awesome!
From body parts to colors to feelings and phrases, the English and Spanish pronunciations are highlighted. I like the idea of having the words together along with a picture.
