Librarian Note: this is an alternate cover edition for ASIN: B00IGAFWY0.

When secrets and lies are exposed, danger will ensue.

My life was perfect. Perfectly boring. Which is how I preferred it to be. Trust didn't come easy and for good reason.

When I ran into the new detective in town, I knew the second our eyes locked, he'd be my downfall. He had too many questions. Pressed too hard for me to let him in.

And they were both the dangerous combination neither of us could afford.

Sigh.. I'm in love and you will be too!
Beautifully Tainted follows the story of Mattie and Emily and their fight to overcome their own respective pasts.
While both would like the past to stay in the past unfortunately that cant happen. When friendship starts to turn into something more can both Mattie and Emily hide their feelings for each other? Or will they work together to overcome anything and be together beautifully tainted.
This story had me hooked from the first page! I really felt the characters emotions and the situations they found themselves in.
You get pain, lust, jealousy, friendship and love.
I've recommended this book to everyone I know and you should too :)
Eagerly waiting for book 2!
A.M Guilliams you rock girl!

Well that was awesomely hot and totally intriguing. And guess what? I think I just bumped into a frigging cliffhanger *burst into tears*. Ohhh but I love the anticipation. I am undeniably torn. I thought the story would be sweet; well it was sweet but not all the way. Some bumpy (really bumpy) mess were on the way and is making the whole ride exciting. I like how the characters are all grown up can handle themselves pretty fine. The alternate POV helped me understand both of them -- but not really since Matt is stubborn, damn. The problem with alternate POV is sometimes the character's dialogues are almost the same that you can't identify who is who.

Then here comes the characters. They were living up with their roles on the first few chapters of the story but slowly lose appearance towards the end. I mean their jobs. It was slowly focusing on their relationship(which is nice) but if the author focuses on the relationship it means it will end fast and damn I don't want this book to end that fast coz I am in love with Matt, like “Oh Matt marry me” (lol jk). The way Emily describes their first encounter, and all that staring-at-me-while-I-slowly-melt-into-a-puddle kind of thing, I think I am being mesmerized by his eyes too. And that guy works fast. I'm glad one of them pursue for what they feel because I'll be royally pissed and frustrated if they will be stubborn to no end. But my heaved-a-sigh-of-relief moment was cut short after I continue reading and discover an ill truth. It actually wrecked me. I was having second thought if it was still the book I'm reading considering I considered it sweet but damn if it still is. My heart breaks for Emily former Maci. Maci Stevens is nice actually. I never thought a twist like that would occur. But well it’s done and I've moved on (somehow).

Writing style aside. I would be looking forward for the next book because I have tons of questions left unanswered after that heart-wrenching ending, not yet ending coz it says series. Great Job for this one.

Emily runs away from her old life and leaves it all behind and starts a new one . Spinning the globe and picking at random she ends up in Maine.

Matt leaves Texas and his life behind as well and leaving it to fate spins the globe and ends up in Maine as well.
Some things are just meant to be.

Emily refuses to get close to anyone but the second she meets Matt she is fighting to keep her walls up. Matt is willing to do anything for Emily once he sets his eyes on her. Working together and slowly becoming friends and fighting the urge to be with Matt, Emily finally takes her walls down and opens up for the first time in 3 years and tells Matt of her tragic past that she is running from. Thinking matt will do the same she pushes for him to open up but he refuses.
Emily can't handle secrets. What is Matt hiding??

They havent spoken in weeks, a surprise forces them to meet. Then the unexpected happens someone she has been running from for 3 years shows up turning her world upside down.

This book definitely slowly built up suspence giving away very little in the beginning the more we read the more we wanted to know. it was a good book with a an unbelievable cliffhanger. We were in shock by the last page and am impatiently waiting for book 2 .
We have to know what happens between Matt and Emily.

Blurb:
What did a dream job, a loving fiancé, and an amazing family all have in common?
They were all things I left behind to survive.
I ran without looking back. Only allowing myself brief moments to reflect on the box of mementos I had hidden inside my bedroom closet.
After two and a half years, I thought I was safe.
Safe from letting people get too close.
Safe from falling in love.
Until Him.
Matthew Anderson tilted my world upside down and sideways, leaving me longing for the life I’d always wanted to have. He tried repeatedly to break down my defenses. Until I finally caved.
I should’ve known that if something felt too good to be true, it usually was.
Danger lurked in the darkness just like it always had.
After three years, it turned out that I wasn’t safe after all.

I liked this book. I liked both main characters. & I liked the whole story line. It was different from some of the other books I've been reading lately.
I guess you can say... I've been in a bit of a book funk.
This book seemed to get me out of it.
It was also a quick & easy read for me.

Mattie & Emily's stories were heartbreaking. Both having been through such a traumatic experience.
Matt is a 28yr old police detective. He moved to Maine to get away from A hostage situation that went bad. He needed a fresh start.

Emily is a 25yr old juvenile probation officer. She moved to Maine 3 years ago. She had something horrible happened to her. She needed to protect herself & the people she loves. So she just walked away from her old life... Her new life... was way different from her old life. She never wanted to get close to people...she didn't want them to ask her personal questions. She kept people at an arms length.

When Mattie & Emily first see each other at the shooting range. When their eyes meet.... They know right away that there's something different about each other. When they both find out that they work in the same place...
They both try staying away from each other.
But... That doesn't work..
They seem to be bumping into each other everywhere.

Slowly... Mattie starts to break down Emily walls and she starts to let him in.

I really liked how the relationship developed between Mattie and Emily.
They took things slow.. & it all just felt natural.

I really don't know how to feel about the whole Nathan rock star thing... it seemed kind of place for me. I wonder if he will play a bigger role in the next book?
Things happened kind of fast in the end... but... it leaves off in a mini cliffhanger...but nothing to bad...

Over all this was a good read! And I would love to read the second book to this series... To find out what happens...

If I had to pick 1 bad thing to say about this book it would have to be the over kill of details...

I like details in a book... But not all the little details...
Like...putting on shoes and socks & picking out clothes...doing your hair grabbing your phone and keys and purse and walking out the door.
Grabbing 2 towels.. One to wrap my body in & one to wrap my hair in for the moister. It's just to much..& it almost feels like it's filler.
That's just one of my pet peeves in books... I don't like it.

I absolutely loved this book. I was encouraged to read it and boy was it one of the best recommendations I have gotten in 2014!!

A.M Guilliams is an incredible author who is able to draw the readers in with every word she writes. I could not get enough of this beautiful story. Fate steps in and brings two people who, with the spin of a globe, find themselves in the same town. Can these two let the past go and follow their hearts?

Emily and Matt both spin the globe and end up in Augusta, Maine. They are both leaving a painful past behind. Em and Mattie run into each other and the sparks are flying. However Emily isn't ready for love and puts Matt in the friend zone.
"I'm not ready yet Mattie. I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings, but I just can't go there yet. I need more time. When I'm ready or if I am every ready you will be the first to know."

Matt never gives up on Em. He is willing to wait for her to figure out what he came to terms with a lot sooner, they where meant to be together. Oh my swoon! I wont say much more because I do not want to spoil it!

Just a fair warning, when reading the end of this book use extreme caution with you Ipad or kindle because you will be tempted to throw it.

This book leaves you craving for more, and I can honestly say this is one of my favorite reads of 2014. I can't wait for book two come out.

So the ever Amazing A.M. Guilliams sent me this amazing book. I am forever in her debt because I absolutely love it. Well I loved it up till the end then I threw my kindle and just about broke it. The dang woman left me with a cliff hanger. Now I have to wait on Beautifully Together to be release so I can figure out what happened. Since I can’t give all the details away I will tell you a bit about it...

Mattie is from Texas and Emily is from California and fate was destined to bring them together. They both spun the globe around and put their finger on the place they will move too. They just happened to both pick Maine. In this amazing story you will also meet Jeremiah, Sophia, Mason and Nathan. For the first half of the book you will want to smack Emily upside her dang head and say “Hello open you dang eyes”. Mattie you will fall in love with. I’d say everyone that has read this book has feel in love with him. I sure as hell did.

A.M. Guilliams I am telling you now Book Two needs to be done like Now!! Love you and love this book <3

I had a book drought and was having a hard time getting into a book! I came across this book and figured why not. I'll be perfectly honest I thought I pegged the book 2 chapters in but turning the page oh how wrong was I! I was completely drawn into this book and could not put it down! This has become one of my absolute favorite books!
Emily and Mattie both need a fresh start from their pasts. They spin the globe and choose a new life. Work brings them together, and Emily is having none of it. She fights it with everything she has! Will fate seal the deal for these two or will Emily walk away from the one man who makes her feel safe again? Just remember you may think you have it all figured out but nothing is as it seems!!!!! Enjoy! I would give this book 10 stars if I could! ************

I'm ashamed to say that this book has been lying on my kindle for months, I was always going to read it but something always came up and this book got pushed further down my reading list.
I've been in a bit of a book funk nothing has garbed my attention in a while, so glad I decided to pick up Amanda's book, I couldn't wait to read the next bit and spent all morning in bed cause I couldn't put it down !!!
The connection and sexual tension was off the scale ! When Emily and Matt's eyes meet there's an instant connection that is hard to ignore even though they both try so hard to deny it. For different reasons they are both in Maine both trying to rebuild lives after tragic circumstances. Emily's ordeal happen almost 3 years ago so she is ready to give life a shot even though it does take Matt some time to slowly take down Emily's walls. Where as Matts ordeal is still fresh and haunts him daily, he wants to start a new life as long as the reason for the move to Maine remains a secret. Matt slowly brings Emily back to life mixing the old Emily with the new but when she lays all her secrets out, she excepts Matt to do the same. But when he's not so forth coming, what will Emily do ?
I really enjoyed Matt bringing Emily to life he was so patient living and caring, this is not a hot sweaty book but more of a book about trust and learning how to love again, although the scene against the wall was hot !
The secondary characters added another layer to this story espically Nathan it's a toss up who I fell for more Mattie the hot Texan or Nathan the cocky sexy rocker I wanted then both !
I liked the fact that that there were many twist and turns to this story making it really hard to put down, it does end on a cliffhanger but book 2 is out in sept so I'm going to forgive Amanda for leaving me dangleing as I need more from these awesome characters !
It's also beautifully written drawing the reader into the fictional world

Emily is trying to live her new life two years after a harrowing experience. She has settled in Augusta Maine and is now a probation officer. She meets Matt at the gun range one morning but wants to keep him in the friend zone. Matt has just moved to Augusta from Texas after a hostage negation went awry. He is looking for a fresh start and hopes to keep his personal demons at bay. Matt instantly will become your next book boyfriend. He is hot and sweet. Seriously, he is all about being a gentleman and being there for Emily. And do not forget about the accent….I love a southern boy! The rest of the characters are also amazing; Jeremiah is a firefighter, Sophia works with Emily and is her closest friend in Maine, and Mason is Matt’s partner. The story is well written and the dialogue amongst the characters is great. The plot moves at a good pace and the ending is a doozy! Yes, it is a cliffhanger but book two is available. This book is really interesting and I was intrigued from the start. I look forward to book two and more from this author.

Couldn't stop reading

Emily's finally adapting to her new life, she has friends that accept her for who she is a career and a new found motivation for getting stronger as long as she keeps guarded, and everyone at arms length she can keep the demons of her past from resurfacing.

Matt is looking for a change one that doesn't remind him of what happened back at Home, he's looking to just find a place that's peaceful with no complications.Little did they know that just a day at the range would haunt them and make them wonder if the past is seriously worth denying themselves of a future.

Though rehashing and trying to forget the past will send them on an emotional roller coaster ride that might just bring them together or completely turn their worlds in to a trial and tribulation they will have to survive in order to have a future.

Great story, definitely a must read.

Emily picks her location with a spin of the globe as does Mattie. Faith brought them to Maine but will faith keep them together? That's what I need to know now. I'm not sure how I'll manage to wait for book two. The connection from day one was strong and Emily fought it until the anniversary of a day she'd like to forget. That one day changed her feelings and started bring her back to her old self.
Now on a different note I love Sophia and Jer. I want them to stop fighting and I'm hoping the author write them a story. Nathan he's not my fav but we will see about him.

I'll warn you the end is not the normal go around. Be prepared and only throw your kindle at the sofa not the wall.

What a great read from this new author. I'm looking forward to the next one for sure.

Emily and Matthew are both running from their pasts. They both let a spin of the globe chose a new home and both end up in Maine. It seems like fate has thrown them together. Mattie gains Emily's trust and lev and she opens up to him. Can Mattie do the same before it's too late?

This book has a great love story. Mattie is a loving and caring man with just a bit of a stubborn side. Emily is a shy woman with a feisty personality hidden away to protect herself. Mattie brings out the spunky side of Emily. When Emily's past cones back to haunt her will Matt be able to bring her back?

Cliffhanger ending but well worth it!

I just adore this book!! Matt and Emily are destined to be together. It starts with both of their horrible situations that lead them to Maine to start their new lives. They meet at a shooting range and from then on, they keep running into each other. "You may be tainted. But In a way, we all are. I believe that you will get past whatever demons that haunt you one day, and I will be here for you when you do. And just know that's what you are, then you're beautifully tainted." I just love me some Matt Anderson!!! This is a great story with love, sass, and suspense. It will make you want to throw your Kindle across the room, but it's so worth it!

From the moment I open this book I could not put it down. Emily and Matt are two lost and broken people who meet. Their chemistry is undeniable and strong. Watching these two grow and heal within their relationship was nice. I like seeing the women even though a victim not be whinny. She rises above and becomes the best she can. This book is easy flowing and I enjoyed it very much. The ending well let's just say, I'm looking forward to book two. It can't get here soon enough. I like that an author can keep me wanting. A.M. Guilliams definitely did this.

Emily and Matt are both trying to start over due to past traumatic
events. These two feel an instant connection but try avoiding
each other to continue with moving forward and not bringing their baggage
to light - with a slow build, Emily and Matt form a friendship where
we can see them both grow- Emily feeling safe, her walls slowly
come down but all to soon the unexpected happens and has her
world upside down

while I had a bit of a hard time connecting with characters it was
a good read - with the cliffhanger ending
definitely jumping into book 2

I enjoyed this book. There were definitely some twists I didn't see coming. I think Ms Guilliams tells a story that readers want to know more about. I am glad that I had the 2nd book to begin as soon as I finished this one. My biggest complaint about the book is that I felt it needed more editing. There were places where the editing totally distracted me from the story, BUT with that done, I think this is a story everyone would like.

This debut novel from this talented young author is not one you'll be disappointed in. The characters are easy to love. The story line is unique while still holding on to those few key elements to make any romance swoon worthy. I can't wait to see where she takes us in the next installment! If you're on the fence, hop off and get to reading! You'll be happy you did!

OMG!!! What a cliffhanger for book #2! This is a great read!! This story of Emily and Matt kept my attention and the story flowed. I did however find a few typos/mistakes, but that happens. This is a suspense filled story...which kept me on the edge of my seat. A wonderful read.
