Joey and Heath are stuck working together for a week in Florida. Not only will they be in each other's presence more time than either of them would like, and when Heath's old friend Grant shows up, things really get out of control. Too close for comfort, and too much temptation to resist, the three of them agree to a one-week affair. None of them wants entanglements, especially Joey who learned firsthand how to survive without help.
With each kiss, each touch, the three of them grow closer. By the time they return to Dallas, they aren't ready to let go. Will the three of them be torn apart by fear, or will they risk their hearts to find happiness together?
Joey Vernon and Heath Campbell are attracted to each other, but they rub each other the wrong way. Grant Benson is Heath’s good friend, and he’s determined to get them rubbing each other in the right way. Grant’s attention convinces Heath to take a chance with Joey, but he wants Grant to take it with him, just like they did in college. Only this time, he wants their threesome to be for more than just a week.
This is a sexy ménage romance with a conflicted threesome who struggle with their feelings for each other. Joey and Grant each have troubled childhoods which affect how they deal with their relationship, and Heath is also at odds about his feelings. It’s a love story with a lot of angsty emotions and plenty of steamy passion. It’s an enjoyable read which will keep you interested from beginning to end.
I read this story as part of Melissa Schroeder’s “More to Love” ménage bundle.
When once again Joey is judged by her looks rather than her mind she thinks that Heath is the same as all the other men. Yet no matter what she does Joey must acknowledge the attraction that they have for each other and when Grant enters the picture all bets are off.
This is a story about three strong individuals who must find a way past conflict to the love that is waiting for them. Their story is fast paced and full of emotions and angst. I enjoyed the chemistry that these three have together and it was nice to see them fight for what they truly wanted. Friendships grow stronger and new relationships begin to blossom. The author gives readers a nice love story that shows what the results of trust and love can be.
First, this book can totally be a standalone. Second, I am not sure what made me less excited about this book. You meet the first two main characters (Heath and Joey) in the first book. They instantly strike sparks off each other and I thought I would love this book more than its predecessor “Hired Hand”. Normally I am not one to shy away from Menages, but I was surprised this book went in that direction. I guess because so much focus was placed on the attraction between Heath and Joey. I felt like it was sudden that the relationship was incomplete without a third person. To each their own.

4.25 🌟 After being introduced to Heath and Joey in The Hired Hand. I couldn't wait to read their story. The addition of Heath's best friend Grant made it even better. The tensions that have simmered between Joey and Heath come to a scorching head. Grant realises the pair are well matched for the long run. Deciding to stir the pot he doesn't anticipate losing his heart to Joey. Conflicting emotions and issues make the trio step back from something special. However no need to fret as the author creates a satisfying HEA. I would love to read a follow-up featuring the trio as well as Marlow and Liam
Never read menage? This is the perfect introduction to a different kind of relationship, two men and a woman. Heath and Grant are best friends and have been known to experience a woman together. A week long stay in Florida, for the business, has the three of them in a new relationship. I have read plenty of this type of book from different authors, very graphic and quite a turn off. Schroeder does this tactfully with class and the addition of a relationship makes it a bit more realistic. It's not for everyone but if your interest is piqued it's a great starter book. I received an early copy.
Joey is Marlow's bff and Heath is Liam's brother, so we have met them already in The Hired Hand. Joey is an extremely attractive woman who is misjudged because people think she has nothing between the ears. Heath is obviously not exempt and did the exact same thing, leading to them hating each other. They have great chemistry even though they can't stand to be in the same room. They end up in the honeymoon suite and one of Heath's friends may find it in himself to join in the fun.
A fast paced short read. I liked Heath, Joey, and Grant's characters. It would have been nice if there had been more info on each of their backgrounds.
With this book, I felt like once I really started to get into it and enjoy it, there was a rather abrupt end to the story.
I enjoyed this book about Joey, Heath and Grant. Joey can be tough as nails but she has sweet sensual side as well. Heath has fallen for her but never thought they would be good together. Bring in Grant who doesn't want a relationship until Joey. These three have massive chemistry. I loved the sexy scenes. A very well written book. Loved it
This is book two in the series. I inadvertently read them out of order. While they are stand alone, I wish I read them in order. Overall, it's a good novella and fast read. I recommend this book.
I love a good ménege with slight bondage kind of book, and this one didn't disappoint! Heath, Joey, & Grants love was great to watch blossom throughout the book. Melissa you sure can write one hell of a book. I would definitely recommend this book as well as the first one The Hired Hand.
This short story is about Joey and Heath - sequel to "The Hired Hand". There were already hints of pairing these two at the end of the first book. I just wish they had their own developed story and and not just a quickie. It would have been interesting to see more background history for both of them. A couple of weeks and a couple of snapshots into Joey's family life was not satisfying enough to make this a good read. With that said, Ms. Schroeder did a good job with pairing these two "opposites", just needs a bit more.
According Amazon, there will be an expanded version of the book available on e format June 15, 2011. A third person will be added to the story to make it a Menage.
[This is the new expanded edition of HANDS ON TRAINING by bestselling erotic romance author Melissa Schroeder. Joey and Heath are stuck working together for a week in Florida. They will be in each other’s presence more time than either of them would like. When Heath’s old friend Grant shows up, things really get out of control. Too close for comfort, and too much temptation to resist, the three of them agree to a one-week affair. None of them wants entanglements, especially Joey who learned firsthand how to survive without help. With each kiss, each touch, the three of them grow closer. By the time they return to Dallas, they aren’t ready to let go. Will the three of them be torn apart by fear, or will they risk their hearts to find happiness together?]
This is Joey and Heath's short story and it was very fast-paced and simple. Joey is the female version of Liam (The Hired Hand), and Heath is her opposite. Both of them are wary of each other because they know it won't work between them. Despite all that, the sexual tension and chemistry just sizzles in the air when they're near each other and they can't help but give in to their desires.
It's a light and fun read too, I got to know Joey's character more and why she's built like that (mom is a Vegas showgirl), and I like her strong resolve to prove she's not an airhead because she's blonde and beautiful, that she has the brains and cunning as well.
I liked the way Heath controlled himself in the first few pages, he desperately tried to hide his attraction and Joey was really clueless about it. Liam and Marlow make an appearance to help the couple get together because it's obvious they want each other so badly.
The sex scenes were quite few, but I loved the author's sense of humor.
We met Joey and Heath in The Hired Hand but this can be read stand-alone. Joey is a knockout who is constantly being judged by her looks and not her brains. Heath made that mistake when he met her. The two of them get along like oil and water and now they have to work together on site for two weeks together. Despite the fact that they don’t like each other they definitely feel combustible chemistry but are smart enough to know they shouldn't mix work and pleasure. When they get stuck sharing the honeymoon suite their passion explodes and it may take three to keep it planet bound.
I'm not normally into reading about three somes but this story about Joey, Grant and Heath was very good. It's was good to read about Liam and Marlow also.
