As a young girl living in New Zealand Stacy Gregg wanted to be two things when she grew up – a horse rider and a writer. She now considers herself very, very lucky to be both at once!

Becoming a writer was the easy part – all she needed was an exercise book and a pen. Stacy wrote loads of poetry and short stories at school and then became a journalist, writing features for magazines and newspapers and working as a fashion writer (v. glamorous and lots of fun!) before her first book in the Pony Club Secrets series was published in 2007.

Re-reading this finally after I started my re-read of the series sometime last year.
I adore this book! Issie and Angel went through a lot together in book 6 so it’s awesome to see them reunited. Other things I love are Issie and Alfie’s friendship, and of course Avery and Francoise!
And most importantly Issie is reunited with Nightstorm ✨
It was great to see more characters having a plot of their own and as usual it was full of adventure. Definitely one of the best books in the series. (And yes I do realise it is a kids series but I love it okay I am so emosh)

Probably the best one I've read so far in this series.
For starts, Stacey Gregg seems to regain her mojo and develops a very unpredictable and fresh storyline. Also, it involves all the characters, and is realistic. You cannot learn haute ecole quickly, although it is perhaps possible in a few months at least. Also, a little romance goes on between Francoise D'arth, one of the El caballo ladies, and Avery, issies trainer... which is very interesting to read about. :)

Overall, my favourite book in the series, although please read all the others first, of you'll get confused.
(don't read Flame and the rebel riders, Fortune and the golden trophy or Victory and the all-stars academy though, they're a waste of time and not worth reading - they won't help you understand plots of any future books in this series.)

Within the first chapter it feels clear that there is a lot missing between this book and the last. With over 10 books in a series, we find ourselves with a completely ridiculous time-skip which also isn't a time-skip as the (at max) 18 month old Storm is now a huge, adult stallion. Whilst not a huge sin in itself, especially within the context of a series aimed at children, it sets the tone of what is to come.
This series takes great pains to include unnecessary details for a children's series, often about medication, animal trauma or death, and money, but decides to throw caution to the wind and ignore a lot of what has been set out before regarding the sheer cost of transporting horses. But never mind, this book also seeks to undo some of the good character moments in the novels before it: the main character leaving her foal in Spain to be trained by some of the best Dressage instructors and riders in the world to then retrieve him when he's grown, trained, and has been used to sire the next generation. This was an excellent choice in character which moved her from childish wants and needs, to understanding what's best for the creature she is responsible for, but is undone for completely unnecessary reasons.
Instead of employing either a several-year canonic time-skip, or books in between, the author instead chooses to undo her own good writing for the sake of moving the story along in the already broken and disjointed timeline.
Additionally, this book introduces utterly unnecessarily levels of threat which result in the main character
Almost all the threadbare characters around the main character have ceased to evolve and it falls suddenly back into writing suitable for a children's book where suddenly the . The whiplash of styles astounding.
Finally, the fantasy-cum-real-life equestrianism hits an all-time high as this naturally talented but unproven child is able to
Having failed to choose a style, this book wavers precariously between several and succeeds at none.

This is the ninth book in the “Pony club secrets” series. There is a total of 12 books in the series, 13 if you count the novella.
With showjumping contests to win, rivals to defeat, mysteries to solve and ponies in danger to save, these books are perfect for all girls who love ponies.
In this book, it has been two years since Issie left her beloved colt Nightstorm in Spain to learn dressage and now it’s time for Issie to get him back. Issie travel back to Spain to reclaim Storm. Issie returns to El Caballo Danza Magnifico, this time determined to bring her colt Storm back home. But first she must master haut Ecole moves on stallion Angel to prove herself to the best riders in Spain. Meanwhile, devious Miguel Vega is involved when mares go missing. On top of all this love in the air at the El Caballo stables.
This book is more realistic than the others in the series because there’s no way to learn a haut Ecole easily and this book shows that it does take longer rather than a few days.
There was lots of character development in this story, and I loved the reunion of Storm. The time gap is questionable, but they are realistic about the capabilities of the horse.
I enjoyed the return of Angel too and his backstory has made me want to see more of the stallion. The final few chapters were incredibly exciting to read and it was heartwarming to see something so lovely happen to such key characters.
I would give this book 5 stars because it constantly kept readers on the edge of their seats. It was so good even though it is more character driven rather than plot driven. I would recommend this to anyone aged 8 or over and it’s great to read alone or as a family but there are some emotional parts.

¡Bienvenidos al Pony Club Cabo Caballero!
🏇🏼🐎

I have struggled throughout the series to pick up and read the books that return to Spain but this one was different once I got into it. There was lots of character development to explore in this story and I loved the reunion of Storm. Yes, the time gap is questionable but they are realistic about the capabilities of the horse. I enjoyed the return of Angel too, his backstory has made me somewhat attached to the stallion?! Tge final few chapters were incredibly exciting to read and it was heartwarming to see something so lovely happen to such key characters. We will just gloss over the fact it costs so much to transport horses back to New Zealand from Spain though (something that was so pivotal to the plot in Victory and the All Stars Academy).

I loved this book. Especially when isse uses the battle tactics against the stallions . At cost she thought she couldn't do the tactics but after the battle with the stallions she could. I thought it sounded amazing how precise she menuovered Angle . I think this book is amazing I read it over again a few times .

Excitement, drama and horsemanship

A thoroughly enjoyable read, full of excitement and drama. Best of all, it tracks the progression of Issue's developing horsemanship.

A very slow paced book that felt considerably like filler at times.
Some big plot points for Avery and Angel.
An easy read that I finished in 2 hours.

This is another book in the serious. I really enjoy these books, because they are like me and they are all the same in the way were each book relates to each other.

Still in this book my favorite character would be Izzy. I still think that I can relate to her and still have the same sort of opinions. Even though through the book it was up and down.

This book would fit into the category of "The class room week - friend ship. Because they are all friends. And some times there is a strain on the friend ships. SO it is really interesting.

There aren't many quotes in this book.

In this book I have learn keep friend. But there are many things in this book that I like and have learn.

From this book I want to keep reading! I was totally mesmerized in this book I literately couldn't put it down. Each night I read at least 2 chapters.

This is a really great book, that I would really recommend to anyone who like animals and adventure.

Issies foal is finally ready for her to collect from Spain, and she can't wait to see him, but it's not as easy as that, she has to prove she can handle and carry on with storms training in order to get him back.

Meanwhile three bachelor (wild and dangerous) stallions are roaming the grounds, hunting down mares to make a heard with, and they are succeeding slowly hearding the mares away from their homes and making them a part of the own private herd. So issie goes on the hunt for the missing mares, but she has to be carful as they are very dangourus creatures...

Wonderful book Stacey!

Can't wait for the next book! This one had everything in it! I learned a lot about dressage which I was never crazy about either. Now I understand it better, thank for that.
