Graduated from Sacred Heart High School, then served two years in the U.S. Army. In 1962 he joined the NYPD and spent nine years in uniform in South Bronx precincts; the last 11 years of his career he supervised detectives in the Organized Crime Control Bureau. While working the streets he earned a BA from Fordham University.
Ed retired from the NYPD as a lieutenant. Then, answering a life-long desire to write, he left Fordham School of Law and earned a MFA in Creative Writing from Arizona State University.
An interesting work of suspense that really showed off the author's knowledge of the Russian mob in Brooklyn, the seamier side of the NYPD, and Yonkers suburban life.
What a great read. I have already put holds on Dee's other books at the local library. I can only hope they live up to "The Con Mans Daughter" Maybe I will just look for books with Daughter in the title from now on. "The Generals Daughter" was excellent as well.
Ed Dee is the real deal -- an ex-cop who knows the streets, knows the job, knows the vernacular. If you like police procedurals, all of Ed's books are worthy of your attention.
