3.5/5 It's been a few years since I read volume 9 which was the first volume without the anime centric cast. So the loss of Zelgadis, Amelia, etc was a little hard to come back to so the story didn't resonate as well for me.
Lina and Gourry are still on a quest for a new magic sword. They once again get wrapped up with Luke and Mileena this time in a civil war scheme involving more kidnapped humans being forcibly fused with demons.
The story is still fun and I do want to read the whole series but this one wasn't as good as previous outings.
As always, it´s great reading a Slayers novel. Even though most of them end the same, the things that happen in between make them worth it. Beside if I´m already on the 10th book then I can´t stop now, and if you are here, you shouldn´t either.
La novela está bien, fluye fácil y es muy entretenida. Eso sí, tiene un punto de "una aventurilla más", con ingredientes que funcionan pero que ya hemos visto, que hacen que sea menos memorable.
This installment was a little more exciting than the previous one. The mystery was a true mystery… I nailed who the real bad guy was, but not the how and why. Can’t say much without giving away the plot and spoilers… can’t even say what I’m excited about in the upcoming volumes… so… I can only close this here….
