I used this book to study for a couple of board exams successfully (ABCC and ABB). As a molecular diagnostics professional I highly recommend this. It will not go in deep depth for all aspects of molecular diagnostics but certainly it will form a strong background for molecular biology/techniques with some advanced concepts. It certainly is a great start and has multitude of good questions to help you with understanding concepts.

A very good and comprehensive review of molecular diagnostics as a general introduction for people of all levels. Definitive reference for non-doctoral laboratory professionals. A go-to reference for ASCP-MB study prep. Fixing the fair number of typos for the next edition will give it five stars.

This is as much a reference book as a textbook. The advanced concepts sections are particularly helpful. It should come in hardbound because it's getting some serious mileage.
