In 1972, Joe Bryan, a young Marine, just wants to get home from Viet Nam. He catches a ride on a freighter but the plane is caught in a massive storm and crash in to a remote area of the South China sea. Joe is the only survivor and winds up on an uninhabited island. Eighteen years later Frank Simmons, a billionaire oilman and his young assistant Sarah Reagan sail to the same island on a mega-yacht for a small vacation, where they are savagely attacked my modern day pirates. Sarah is rescued by the young Marine still on the island. She is suspicious of her rescuer at first but as the months go by they fall in love and together they face the ruthless pirates and also the fact they may live the rest of their lives on the island.
