Satan and his minions have declared war on the most beautiful planet in the universe his purpose is to depose Michael the archangel and become second only to God in command of all creation. Standing in Satan's way are a scattered and disorganized host of angels, a group of inexperienced saints, a small band of humans, and some angelic rebels in Hell. Armed with faith full power, Abaddon the Destroyer creates a formidable army to challenge the evil targeting Earth. Author of best selling Heaven and Hell, Kenneth Zeigler again draws from his research to create a realistic tale where science, the supernatural, and life and death teeter on the edge of eternal joy or damnation.
I'm Ken Zeigler, author of the Tears of heaven series. I've been writing stories since junior high school; science fiction short stories mostly. I attended Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, way back when it was still called Shippensburg State College. I hold a masters degree in chemistry, and did my graduate research in quantum mechanics.... I openly profess Jesus Christ to be my personal lord and savior. It wasn't always that way. The change in my life came about as the result of a near death experience when I was eighteen years old, during my freshman year in college. The circumstances of that experience were so remarkable that my life hasn't been the same since. Indeed, for me, the age of miracles has just begun. I have taught chemistry, physics, and astronomy at both the high school and college level. Currently, I teach at University High School in Tolleson, Arizona. During my career in science, I've concentrated mostly on the study of asteroids, the tiny planetoids that circle the sun mainly between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. I have been an educational consultant for NASA on the Messenger Mercury Program. I have a wife who I have been married to for 25 years. I also have two wonderful step-children. My professional writing career didn't officially begin until 1997, with the publishing of my first book; The Waters of Ulan, which was actually an off beat vampire story set in the South Pacific before World War II. Now, I write only books with a Christian theme. Yet, I truly believe that these books will appeal to both Christians and non-Christians alike. Welcome to the new world.
I simply had to buy the next book in the series after reading "The War in Heaven." Kenneth Zeigler's descriptions of Hell and of Heaven are almost eerie. They seem right on target although, of course, I have no way of knowing that for sure. Zeigler weaves biblical, historical and scientific research into this well-written story, placing eternity into perspective while keeping the reader on the edge of their seat. I highly recommend this book.
This was one of those books that make you stop and think. It seemed very real. The writing style was good suspense, but I must admit, I really like the subject. Must reading for those who like reading about the world beyond our own. I read (and write) like this all the time.
Very well conceived. The author challenges your faith and soars your imagination. This book and series is thought provoking and inspires your faith as well. I Loved the characters of Abaddon the Destroyer and his children. This book and series represents historical fiction with fantasy at its best. I Highly recommend this entire series to everyone who has a love for Christ and possibly wavers from time to time in their faith (Isaiah 26-3) I found myself reflecting on the characters and scriptures throughout the day. A real boost to my personal walk with Jesus. I wish Mr Ziegler continues this series — as a sequel— depicting the-during and after the 1000 year reign. Enjoy! Louis V. Maurio
Book 1 in this series, Heaven and Hell, is one of my all time favorite books. Book 2 did not disappoint. These books will make you stop and think very seriously about your eternity.
This story was very creative. I suspect that any time you set a story in Heaven and Hell, you gotta be careful about portraying it as theology. I don't know how much of what this story tells is (or will be) reality, but it is exciting and thought-provoking.
Satan sees his chance to retake Heaven for him and his demons. Challenge God, along the lines of the Job challenge, and count on winning the war. Despite it seeming at sometimes that God is just letting Satan and his minions run rampant, Got cares deeply for His children and His angels, and nothing will happen out if his control. It is fun to see how the humans and angels work together to fight off Satan's attack.
An alarm to know your enemy purpose and tactics and stand on your faith in God
Kenneth Zeigler is a wonderful writer and the means he puts the scripture to the story plot just keeps you captured into seeking more understanding about our Lord. He causes you to see a new dimension into the love of Christ and we as Christians can become complacent. We need to be consistent in our walk because satan certainly is and time is of the essence! An absolutely must read. This book will open your eyes and heart to see our walk differently. Simply an awesome book.
This book held me just as enthralled as the first one, can't wait to read the next one in the series! Zeigler has fashioned a real hero in the dark angel Abaddon, who is one of the fallen angels, those not cast down for being against God but for other reasons. Abaddon has realized his mistake, and in retribution for it is doing the only thing he knows how, being himself, Abaddon the Destroyer.
Wow! This book was awesome! I really enjoyed the War In Heaven more than Heaven and Hell. I felt the narrator's (author's) voice was more neutral and did a better job of just telling the story and not sounding like a missing character in the book. There was much less outdated slang and terminology and just in general sounded like a more modern book.
I am really impressed, as I said in the first book's review, with the author's intelligence and knowledge. You definitely can tell he is a Physicist and I love how he has so grandly tied that into this story. The story itself, is totally unique & very enthralling. I've read a lot of supernatural novels about spiritual warfare, Heaven, Hell, etc. But I've never read one that imagines some inhabitants of Hell who have repented once they realized their mistake (although too late to spend eternity with God), being saved by some renegade (and also repentant) fallen angels to create an uprising to overthrow Satan in Hell. And then the whole war in Heaven was crazy! This book is definitely deserving of my 5 star review! I can’t wait for the next book!
I just couldn't finish reading this one at all. It had become very painful to read. In my opinion, it seemed to take on a completely different form. Of course, the writing and descriptions were very well done and for that, I'm not upset that I read as much as I did. And although I have no way of knowing what heaven and hell look like or of their inhabitants; I'd like to believe that the demons wouldn't bow to anyone in heaven. Why would they? Why should they? Saying it's unbelievable doesn't really make sense, but that's what it was. Book one was a lot better than book two; even though I didn't finish it. I just found myself shaking my head and curling my lip in disgust and not because of the vile demons, but because of dialogue and the setting. From everything I read, it was a complete bore.
This is a yes, do read! This a a unique look at Heaven and Bell and all that might go on there. This as is book 2 in a series of 5 but totally stands alone. A truly great author can write a book series consisting of stand alone books because his writing is what encouraging a he's you to read more. This author does NOT try to force you to buy his books by ending a story bbc.co with cliff hangers and no resolutions. Rather, the stories are so good you want to find out more about it and the characters. This is a book I will keep in my permanent library and re-read often. I highly recommend this book to everyone! :D
Satan and his minions have declared war on heaven in an attempt to depose Michael the rest of the angels who remained true to God. Standing in Satan's way are a scattered and disorganized group of angels, a group of inexperienced saints, a small band of humans and some angelic rebels in Hell. Abaddon the Destroyer (he of the book of Revelations fame) creates a formidable army to challenge the evil angels in hell. The saints in heaven develop heretofore unseen weapons and technology to help heaven's angels and the fallen angels in hell. It will keep you on the edge of your seat.
This is the second book of the Tears in Heaven series, and fictionalizes the war in Heaven between Satan and his minions against the angles and the saints. For anyone who doesn't know their Bible, we win! It is a well thought out fictionization and an enjoyable read. The books in this series tend to be quite long, so make sure you have plenty of time when you start reading them. I am going to break off for a while and give my mind a rest by devouring some simple, purely entertains reads, and then I'll start book three.
I nearly stopped reading a few times as the story line was (is) a bit far fetched. I simply could not stop!
It's too addictive and compelling. I simply had to see where it went.
I'm in disagreement with the manager in which demons and humans seem to destroy what God has called good, or had protected.
Much of man's ability to outwit God is clearly off beam and the apparent mistake that God has made in sending some people to Hell, as well as strong hints of a second chance is simply wrong
30pages left, then I'm done... sal verseker nog van sy boeke lees! Gee mens 'n ander siening oor hemel & hel - het my herhinner dat ons as kinders van God niks hoef te vrees, dat God altyd beter weet & dat ons in Jesus Naam wonders kan verrig! GREAT BOEK! It went to quickly - I wish there were more - it as nice fiction :-)
This was a crazy book to read. Why? The wild minded use of technology woven into spiritual combat was very unique. I am not a physicist, but taking some classes I understood his descriptions, use of words, and their believable results. I will never look at Heaven the same again. A bit of a long read for me, but cool nonetheless.
Book two in the five part "Tears of Heaven" series. Did not enjoy as much as "Heaven and Hell" but still could not put it down. Continuing on to book three.
