Cassidy is convinced that Travis will never open up to her. He's fun, flirty, and does delicious things to her body--but doesn't offer his heart. When they're forced to hole up in an old weather station for the night, it gives her time to really get to know the dirty-blond miner. Can she break through his tough exterior and tame the man beneath?
Travis finds it safer to coast along on the surface of life. He never planned to invest himself emotionally in anyone beyond his new pack, but Cassidy is making it difficult. His alpha has chosen her, and Travis wants her. If only he could trust the little human, and himself, enough to embrace what he really desires.
NOTE! You are purchasing Siren's newest serialized imprint, the LoveXtreme Forever Series. This is Book 4 of 7 in the Wolves of Climax collection. These books are not stand alone. Each is a continuation of the previous book and must be read in the numbered order. Each book may end on a cliffhanger but usually with a happy-for-now for the heroine and one or more men. The final book contains a happily forever after for the heroine and all her men.
Book One: Surrounded by Wolves Book Two: Garret's Domination Book Three: Matthew's Return Book Four: Taming Travis Book Five: Evan's Victory Books Six: Patrick's Heart
This review is for book 2 -7 in the wolves of Climax series. I did like the story it had a good premise I just didn’t like Garret him deciding to keep her in the dark about everything made things so much worse than they had to be.
The only thing that disappoints me about this series is the fact that I have to wait for the next installment. In the fourth book of the Wolves of Climax series, Cassidy is right where the previous story left off. She finally found Matthew and has been waiting with him and Patrick while Garrett and the rest of the pack were hunting for the Rockford miners, unknowing of Matthew’s return. After setting out to find the rest of the crew, Matthew and Patrick are forced to leave Cassidy alone in the woods to protect her from suspicious wolves. While looking for shelter, Cassidy is confronted by another surprise when Travis finds her and she realizes that once again he is completely naked. What is it with all of these men running around the woods with no clothes on? She knows her men must be hiding something but she still can’t quite figure it out. Once settled in a shelter for the night, Travis realizes that he is always animalistic when it comes to Cassidy. He doubts that he has a softer side and is not sure that he could even kiss Cassidy without wanting to have his way with her. Can Cassidy tame his beast? Can he be vulnerable with her? What if he opens his heart and she runs the moment she finds out the truth?
The time to find out draws near as the pack comes together and heads home, Cassidy is left with more questions then answers. Now that the pack is whole and the mine is up and running, frustration is in the air and Cassidy has a tough time dealing with it. Someone is sending an inspector to the mine to oversee operations and Cassidy will not be allowed on site. Add to that the fact that the inspector is a woman with a reputation for flirtation, and you have a recipe for jealousy, underhandedness and of course, disaster.
Once again I find myself anxious for the next installment of this series. While the stories are short, the storyline leaves a mystery to be solved. Cassidy still has a missing brother, someone is still kidnapping wolves and using them to kill people in the woods, Garrett has still left Cassidy unmarked, and the Rockford miners are still up to no good. I find myself getting frustrated with Garrett’s constant excuses to wait to tell Cassidy the truth but really enjoy the banter between he and his pack as they push him by offering to mark her themselves. I also get irritated at Cassidy simply because she seems so naive about things. She is constantly hearing about the “pack” and getting marked but has not put two and two together. Her men are always appearing naked in the woods, they get along with wolves, and she does not even ponder that fact, she simply wonders why they are naked all of the time (not that I am complaining about gorgeous naked men). The scenes between Cassidy and her men are sexy as sin and I always plush when they put her in a compromising position allowing for others to accidentally drop in. For a fast read, this book offers a great story, sinfully delicious sex with one, two, and three men (all for Cassidy) and a cliffhanger that will leave you begging for more.
Yes, we all know by now that I am in love with this series! Each book just gets better and better. I was so hesitant to try a serial, but now I am so glad I did. It is so worth it! Each book leaves you with as many questions as it answers.
Now that we know who is taking the shifters (Not telling! Not giving it away!)we can breathe a sigh of relief. But the mysteries don't end there. We are still left in the dark about the mysteriosu brother. And of course Casssidy is still in the dark about her lovers. The relationships develop and I am in love with every single one of those men for a different reason. Ms. Espino writes such engaging characters. You laugh with them and cry with them. And want to beat irksome alpha males, over the head with them.
So if you haven't yet, get going on this series! I am dying for the next ones.
Another great continuation in the Wolves of Climax series!
Cassie is still unaware of what her men truly are. It seems every time things start to go in the right direction, another tragedy occurs. It's never a right moment to bring forth the truth to her. The men just want her to be happy, loved and safe. But something always seems to pop-up and threaten her or one of the pack.
Travis releases the protection he's had around his heart and opened up fully to Cassie. He loves her and she feels the same about him. He wants her claimed now more than ever! How much longer can they postpone claiming her and holding back the truth without causing permanent damage to their relationship? I hope all goes better in the next of the series so Cassie can finally be out of the dark.
Just not enjoying these as much as I'd hoped when I liked the first in the series. Too much going wrong, too many poor decisions by Cassidy and nothing really progressing with the pack.
