Best-selling author Sam Hendricks gets caught up in another real-life murder as he writes another mystery. He spends his time writing, trying to solve real murders, and working on his social life. This time, as he is writing his next book, someone contacts him about a woman who has disappeared. When someone commits murder, he juggles writing his next novel, with solving a murder, and once again, he seems to get places and have sources that the detectives do not have. The book combines suspense and comedy.
I love all of Steve Demaree’s books, but mostly his way of entertaining you while keeping you guessing throughout his mysteries. This book is no exception, except the author added another twist. I’ll not say any more about it so as not to give anything away. (I must say, I was correct about who the murderer was not.) The characters are fun, entertaining, and funny. It’s a terrific follow up to The Wrong Place, but can be read as a stand alone. I hope there’s a Book 3.
I love all the books this author has written! He blends mystery with romance and a lot of humour. It makes it hard to put the book down once you start reading. This book was great as well and I loved the mystery and the humour!
