Journey to Victorian America alongside characters from bestselling author Tracie Peterson. Two impossible romances ignite when Lady Amelia of England goes on holiday and is inspired by both the Colorado mountains and the rugged trail guide, and when Darlene, a Jewish seamstress, becomes indebted to the son of a prominent New York family. But are the walls of social status and differing faiths too solid to breach?
Tracie Peterson is a bestselling author who writes in both historical and contemporary genres. Her novels reveal her love for research as well as her strong desire to develop emotionally meaningful characters and stories for her readers. Tracie and her family live in Montana.
As always Tracie Peterson delivers a wonderful book. It's filled with memorable characters and a great storyline. In the first book, Amelia travels with her family to Amercia. She has not believed in God since her mother passed away. She meets their guide, Logan, who had it with spoiled English "royalty". He has a firm belief in God and he helps Amelia find her faith. They soon fall in love and marry. Darlene works in her father's tailor shop. She has caught the eye of socialite, Pierce. Not only are they not equal in status, Darlene is a Jew and Pierce is a Christian. Darlene's father soon embraces the Christian faith and Darlene becomes confused about her own faith. Pierce wants to leave NYC and possibly move to Chicago. He's in love with Darlene but he knows what scripture says about being unequally yoked. Darlene's father becomes very sick and he witnesses to Darlene. She accepts Jesus as Lord and can't wait to tell her friends and Pierce. Unfortunately, her father dies and there's a horrible fire. Darlene loses everything in one night. Pierce opens up his home to her and she tells him of her decision to follow Christ. He is ecstatic and they decide to marry and move to Chicago.
Leuke snack voor tussendoor. Slecht geredigeerd, dat stoorde me erg. Chapeau!
I liked the setting for both stories and enjoyed the characters. I liked learning more about the Jewish faith. There were a lot of spelling errors in the first book and a couple in the second book which was distracting. It was interesting that I am Christian and believe the Godhead to be three separate beings so there was a few doctrinal differences in my beliefs but overall an enjoyable read.
Loved, loved these 2 stories, loved the characters, loved how God was central in so many lives. I am grateful that there were people in our history that didn't abuse Jews. I recommend the author and both books.
Fascinating story from beginning to end of love that survives prejudice and snobbery The message of salvation is made plain. Those who have a hunger for He will always find God faithful to reveal Himself.
How very refreshing to read an uplifting and beautiful story filled with events that cause a myriad of emotions; intrigue, suspense, disappointment, love, joy, and faith! I look forward to reading more books by Tracie Peterson.
Such a Wonderful read, I finished Book 1 in one night. Historical Christian Romance. Lady Amhurst was unhappy, she was promised to someone she didn't Love. She found herself looking for something in her life, She soon would find out who she truly needed. Book 2, Will a Jewish young lady be the bride a Christian New York Socialite needs. This book made me cry several times. I definitely will be reading more by this author.
I loved both books, great characters and storyline for each all with a similar way of telling about faith and our Lord Jesus. Great to have clean excellent plots all can read and enjoy.
Both of the books in the series were really good. I enjoyed them quite a bit. The characters were interesting and their storylines were engaging and very heartfelt.
Bridal Blessings: Truly Yours 2-in-1 Romances****...2 Historical Romances of Challenging the Barriers to Love e-book by Tracie Peterson
-Logan's Lady England's high society meets up with a rugged Colorado tour guide, clearly showing the class differences—oh, do the sparks fly. Add harsh, treacherous terrain going up the mountains of 1875's Colorado making tense feelings even more tense. It is fun to watch Lady Amelia and Logan as they spar along the trail and later in Estes. I felt kinda sorry for Amelia, being forced into a marriage she does not want. There is a secret behind the arranged marriage that comes out and makes things even more tense. I like the way Logan's strong faith is evident in all he says and does. I could feel Amelia's frustrations, not only with her father and Jeffery but with her sisters as well. I really did not like Jeffery at all and had a hard time with Reginald's treatment of his daughter. This is a short story with lots of interesting characters, some endearing and some with unlikable traits. Danger, frustration, fear, joys, faith, romance and faith bring a delightful story.
-My Valentine Darlene Lewy is a Jewish seamstress in her father, Abraham's tailor shop in 1835's New York City. Wealthy Dennison Blackwell and his son Pierce frequent the shop and have become good friends with Abraham. This short story reveals to the reader the division between the different classes and different faiths. I really liked the way Pierce and his father lived out their faith and shared the love of Jesus with those they meet—in a loving way. I found it interesting to show the depth of the Jewish faith and how Christians and Jews alike pray to the same God. An in-depth description of a Seder Meal was very moving and very interesting—showing the ties between the Jewish faith and the faith of those following Christ. Not only prejudices of other cultures but of different faiths is clearly shown in the story. I really did not like Pierce's aunt at all and a couple of the other characters. Along with the prejudices, misleading lies to manipulate others, fear, fire, death, strong faith and love are woven to make a sweet romance.

THE GOOD : -the first story had very likeable characters -the writing was fairly strong considering the genre -The plot of both stories was entertaining
THE BAD: -in the second story, the main male protagonist was a bit of a judgemental snob.... I didn't like him at all, and it felt very "unChristian" for a Christian book
I found myself instantly sucked into these stories. My only dislike was them being too short! I loved how Logan won Amelia's heart through God, and how Pierce showed Darlene his love for her through god. I only hope someday I will find that kind of love!
