Cozy Baked Mystery #26

Cinnamon Roll Secrets: A Freshly Baked Cozy Mystery

Rate this book
Autumn is my very favorite time of the year. What’s not to love about pumpkins, brilliant-colored leaves, mild weather, and warm gooey cinnamon rolls? It was the mild weather that brought me out for an early morning run. It was discovering a body that made me want to run right home again.

Allie and her best friend Lucy may have intended to spend a beautiful fall morning going for a run, but someone else intended to get away with murder. Can they figure out who is trying to put a damper on their favorite season before they strike again?

Welcome to Sandy Harbor, Maine, a small town with a lot of heart. And a dead body or two.

Undoubtedly this was an easy read, nevertheless it was written witless and mediocre. Everyone was guilty of something, much like an Agatha Christie book despondently, it flopped at the end. If someone is looking for a quick read about an amateur sleuth character, I would recommend this book though. I’m hoping it’s just this specific story I did not enjoy. Seeing that I liked the main character. Allie was sweet and inquisitive. Therefore, I plan on returning to the series and giving this author another try in the near future. Next time, my expectations will be lower.

This is like a weird Disney-fied murder mystery- zero reaction to finding a dead body and meddling in her husband’s investigation and just baking cinnamon roles the whole time? LMAO it was so strange. Cute but not realistic in the slightest.

ok but why did she see a dead body and have 0 emotional reaction to it and instead just went and bothered everyone in town pretending like she’s some detective???? the vivid descriptions of cinnamon rolls were longer than the actual plot

It's time to start getting in the cozy mood for fall, and what better way to do than that with a cozy mystery! I love all of these books, but the fall and winter themed ones are my favorites. This one certainly didn't disappoint!

It is the Starbucks pumpkin spice latte animated short came to life. If I never read cinnamon rolls, pumpkin spice, or money again I will be happy. Clueless teen (scratch that married woman with adult children) gets too involved with a murder by making “the worlds best” cinnamon rolls while always drinking pumpkin spice lattes. One dimensional town and characters.

Finished out of spite and dislike.

Dltr: Basic white girl drinks pumpkin spice lattes, breaks all sort of protocols to be a better detective than detective husband and seems written by AI.

It was great visiting with Allie and her family and friends in this installment. Allie along with her faithful sleuthing buddy Lucy were on the case when they discovered their latest body in a park. Lucky for them it was Allie and Alec at a very quiet showdown which actually ended up happening in police interrogation. A side story concerned Jennifer possibly wanting to give up on college, but I bet Allie was proud of how she thought it through and made a good decision at the end.

This was so terrible. The only reason I finished it was to know the murderer. If I had a dollar for every time I had to read the words ‘cinnamon roll’ in this book, I would use all those dollars, purchase this authors house, and evict her out of spite. Do not read this book, no matter how many Instagram pages tell you it’s a fun, cozy, fall book.

Cinnamon Roll Secrets

This was a perfect cozy mystery and lots of yummy deserts. The characters are on the case and so isn't the detective but how will salve the case, because Allie and her sidekick Lucy are asking a lot of questions and the family members of the victim are making house calls with their own ideas. The plot thickens in this delightful mystery. Enjoy

Not so cozy

Cozy mystery? Not exactly. First off, who finds a dead body has zero emotions towards it? Then the FMC’s husband allows his wife to run all over town playing detective. She should just go to the cop academy at this point. Seems unrealistic and very mediocre.

I didn't love the ending, and so many things about this book bugged me. It was cozy, but it also felt like I was reading a 10th grade english paper ugh
