Another She Opner

This book along with the Old Testament study book is truly a must read. The New Testament study book will open up your eyes and bring the scriptures to life. Both the OT and NT study guides are great sources to use both individually and collectively. I believe your life will never be the same again. Books from the OT links with the NT. For example, the book of Daniel links with the book of Revelation. The book of Ezekiel is another book that links with a NT book. The book of Isaiah links to mainly John. I recommend this book as well as the OT study guide books. I definitely will be going back to this book as I continue my relationship with the Lord on an entire new and inspiring level in my life. Be Bless!

This is a great little book. Don’t expect a thorough study through the New Testament, it’s some thoughts on many verses of every chapter of the New Testament. I used this to supplement Chuck Tracks (for CCBC) which it is perfect for.

Another great thing that would be of interest to Calvary Chapel people is the verses the Calvary Chapel Distinctives come from are highlighted and explained in this book. A nice touch.

Like the Old Testament Study Guide, this just seems to be a collection of Chuck's musings as he reads through the New Testament. It's like the notes you might find in the margins of someone's Bible. The commentary is not very in depth. For what it's worth, between the Old and New Testament guides, his most in depth commentary seems to be on the book of Hebrews

This is a straightforward, plain speaking study guide that goes chapter by chapter, book by book, covering the entire New Testament. As I read the entire New Testament these past few months, I kept this book open to the corresponding verses the entire time. What I found very useful was the preface to each book that included quick overviews under the headings of: “Author of Letter”, “Written To”, “Date and Place of Writing”, “Theme”, “Purpose of Writing”, and sometimes “Notes”. Chuck Smith’s Study Guide is particularly useful if you are working your way through the beautiful, but more antiquated, King James Translation as he helps explain the language and vocabulary used during a now bygone era.
