Rate this book

How can God expect Megan McKinney to forget the past? Every day she watches women drop by the law firm to visit her boss, Justin Frasure. Even though he became a Christian three months ago, nothing’s changed. Justin’s just as disgusted as Megan—he’s tried everything to keep his past from intruding. But, in spite of herself, when Justin joins her church and she sees his growing faith, she finds her heart softening. Can Justin wait for God to show her how much he loves her, or will his patience lead her to choose someone else?

This is a story that revolves around Megan McKinney and her struggles to recover after a trauma experienced in high school. In high school Megan was simply a young girl full of hopes and dreams for the future until one night everything changed. She has become a woman who is trying to forget her past and move on. I was immediately drawn to her character. She is having difficulty forgiving those who hurt her, but mostly she hasn't learned to forgive herself. Her family has judged her harshly and continue to bring up the past, so putting it behind her is a difficult thing. My heart breaks for this young woman and all the pain she must endure. She meets two men who are both interested in her romantically, but can she take a leap of faith and learn to trust a man again? The road she travels is an often difficult one until she learns to put all her faith in God and let him guide her in all decisions. This is a wonderful book that I would recommend to anyone.

I really enjoyed this one. The main character Megan is still struggling to recover from a traumatic event that happen in her life 8 years ago with a man. She is trying to forget her past and forgive those who have hurt her and continue to remind her of the incident. Through this journey she learns she first needs to forgive herself before trying to forgive others. Because of what happened she has set a plan for her life, no men. She struggles to stick to this plan as she finds between two men. As the story moved along I got more and more drawn into wanting to know which man would she choose or would it be neither. They were both good guys but there was one I really wanted her to get together with over the other and thankfully I wasn't disappointed in the end. I was really drawn to Megan's story though the path has been difficult she learns to put all her faith in God and let her guide her decisions even if His plan differs from her plan. I only gave this book four stars as some of the details throughout weren't consistent, for example at one point it was said she had been at the job for over a year and a half, but then at another point said it had only been 7 months. There were a few of these little inconsistences in details and that really bothered me. However they didn't ruin the whole story for me. I would recommend this book.

I don't normally read Christian romance, but since my dear friend is the author of the book, I decided to read it. She did an excellent job making the characters real and endearing. I could almost hear her voice reading this book. I didn't give it 5 stars just because she's my friend. It was simply a delightful read. I would definitely recommend reading this book!

The plot was very good. At the beginning I did not know which guy she would end up with and it is usually obvious. There were several issues being dealt with in the book which made the book more interesting like her relationship with her mom. The book could have been proofed better. There were occasions where the details were incomplete and confusing.

This was a delightful story. Jennifer will have you rooting for one of the guys until the very end.

I liked how the author was not afraid to tackle serious issues. This love story was handled realistically and still had a happy ending.

Love

God made our hearts to love and to hold compassion. In the storyline of this penned work we find that our heart needs to forgive to be set to gift of freedom. I believe God wants to free our spirit because Love Conquers All...

I loved this book mainly because it was Christian and showed Christian principles. I chose to read it because it was about Lexington, which is where I live you never get too old for romance.((

This was a great book. Great mix of Scripture and how it applies to everyday life -- in a new Christian and one who has been a Christian for a while. Loved the mix, loved the story.

I really enjoyed writing this story. It's my first "long" novel, so I'm sure I still have much to learn, but I love Megan, Justin, and Colt.
